Dec 19, 2012Shoji posted a message on Diablo III Players Banned for Botting, Battle.net Authenticators Temporarily Unavailable, Blue Posts, Heart of the Swarm Beta KeI agree with many others; the banning of "thousands of accounts" for reasons of botting is too little too late. The time it took to create a list of accounts that large, monitor for patterns and then flag the accounts for banning and finally take action against the accounts... the damage had already been done to the game, community and economic infrastructure within the game. Thanks, Blizzard.Posted in: News

You are right, it did add a GPU driver check!
Very small as in it looks like an increase of maybe 20 people playing in public games lol -

Aug 21, 2011Shoji posted a message on Inferno RevealedPosted in: NewsI honestly didn't notice the Thousand Pounder in the upper right that's him alright! Either he's not really a mini boss, but instead just a random instance area. Or by dying he got sent back to hell where he lives again.. Those are my two guesses.
Actually, it is common practice in many games to introduce "champion"-like mobs as mini-bosses. This sets the tone for the next time you meet him. You will encounter much larger and more difficult mobs before you meet him again... hopefully you would have seen an upgrade or two before then, too... that way your next encounter will be much quicker. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

I used to have my computer hooked up to my Sony TV. Had the 46" EX500 (cheapest of the lot) and let me tell you, WoW at 1080p (1920x1080) looked amazing. No screen tearing, no degrading of image quality... AMAZING!! Possibly at 52+ you might start to notice pixels. I never did sitting only 2.5 ft away from my 46" screen.

Highly unlikely the gold will be available for both Hardcore/Softcore players. Must be separate for each. Darn blue posts leading me to believe otherwise >.<

Remember that the Auction House is only accessible from your battlenet login screen. Might make a difference as to what options are available to hardcore/softcore and/or both.

It would be nice to have a similar class who's skill sets/playstyle was centered around their pet(s).

I agree, the stashes are separate (softcore/hardcore) but I think the gold might be shared across all toons no matter what.

I feel this a confirmation that gold might be useable across soft-core/hard-core, too!

(I am not familiar with Blue Post quoting within my post on Diablofans.com forums)
Mmmm-Hmmmmm!
What his means is that gold accrued on one character is accessible on other characters. Not only do you have a "shared stash" but you have a "shared pot of gold!"

Mouse:
- Used to use Microsoft Explorer mouse
- First Gaming mouse was purchased with the release of the Razer Copperhead, but it had constant problems with the clicker not working properly
- Current mouse is the Razer Imperator. I love it! Perfect size/shape and the side buttons SLIDE back and forth to my preference!
Keyboard:
- Used to use standard microsoft keyboard
- First Gaming keyboard was a Razer keyboard. Macro buttons on either side and the buttons were lightweight and tactile like a laptop's. Macro buttons, WASD were the only ones that lit up. Pulsing Razer logo.
- Current keyboard is the Lycosa I believe. Different feel to the keys, but I love that it completely lights up.
Speakers:
- I have an old (7+ yr old) set of Logitech 5.1 surround speaker system. Super-cheap back then and it still blows an empty coke can across the room. Very satisfied. I often hook it up to my TV for better quality sound than the TV speakers.
Headphones:
- Used to use cheap-o earphones until I started to use ventrilo a lot.
- Upgraded to cheap logitech headphones with a mic after release of WoW and lots of Ventrilo
- Upgraded further to a nice set of Razer headphones to match the "blue light" setup of my accessories.
Monitor:
- Used to use box monitor back in the day! yuck
- Upgraded to an Acer 720p LCD monitor 5 years ago, loved it! It now serves as my secondary monitor
- Currently own a Samsung side-lit 23" LCD monitor. Super-thin... has PiP with HDMI
Drink of Choice:
- Case of Dr. Pepper at my side 24/7

Sadly, there are VERY similar SC2 and WoW achievements...

Unless you have a lot of "noise" or packet-loss over your 56k connection, you will have no issues playing Diablo3.
Edit::
My only suggestion is that if you are running on a sub-par 56k connection or equivalent, please do not be a party leader =p

The answer to your question was given not long ago by a Blue. I believe it was Bash... he said that you would be fine with a 56k dialup connection. So this means that if your connection speed, or connection quality, goes below the average speed of a 56k dialup connection, then you would notice lag.
Otherwise you're fine. I have always had excellent DSL and Cable connections. However, there have been a night or two filled with a lot of noise or weird quality problems, causing me to lag up to 6000+ ping in WoW. A connection quality problem would probably cause you grief as well.

The "Client" - your computer - pulls the following information:
- Pulls dungeon/area layout once you load the area.
- Pulls NPC/Destructibles as they "appear" on your screen (this defeats any map-hacks)
- Pulls NPC/Destructible "item drops" as they happen
Information sent from the "Client" to Bnet/D3 servers:
- Your interaction with NPCs, including combat.
- Your movement across the map, telling the servers what information to send
- When you kill an NPC or destroy a Destructible that yields a loot roll
Some other information that I'm not familiar with is how the client-server information is pulled/sent when playing with others. Perhaps the connection is based on the party leader's connection. Perhaps the leader's computer is the one that submits what NPC's are doing and when you are taking damage? This would make Hard Core solo play easier than Hard Core with groups if you have a poor connection.
Edit:: clarified last sentence.

I've seen that video many times, but I've never seen it presented that way! Wow... just wow!
It's burning... the diablofans.com web page is burning!
I can't stop watching it... over and over again. THIS is what had me drawn into Star Wars movies. I am so glad that D3 and SWTOR aren't releasing simultaneously
