Dec 19, 2012Shoji posted a message on Diablo III Players Banned for Botting, Battle.net Authenticators Temporarily Unavailable, Blue Posts, Heart of the Swarm Beta KeI agree with many others; the banning of "thousands of accounts" for reasons of botting is too little too late. The time it took to create a list of accounts that large, monitor for patterns and then flag the accounts for banning and finally take action against the accounts... the damage had already been done to the game, community and economic infrastructure within the game. Thanks, Blizzard.Posted in: News

You are right, it did add a GPU driver check!
Very small as in it looks like an increase of maybe 20 people playing in public games lol -

Aug 21, 2011Shoji posted a message on Inferno RevealedPosted in: NewsI honestly didn't notice the Thousand Pounder in the upper right that's him alright! Either he's not really a mini boss, but instead just a random instance area. Or by dying he got sent back to hell where he lives again.. Those are my two guesses.
Actually, it is common practice in many games to introduce "champion"-like mobs as mini-bosses. This sets the tone for the next time you meet him. You will encounter much larger and more difficult mobs before you meet him again... hopefully you would have seen an upgrade or two before then, too... that way your next encounter will be much quicker. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

- while dual-weilding, chance to dodge increased by (10)%
- Defense increased by (25)% of attack
- Dodge chance increased by (50)% percent of critical chance.
- While stunned, feared or charmed damage taken reduced by (75)%
- Your resistance to all elements is equal to your highest elemental resist.
These are passive skills as found in this picture from the beta:

I love the increased defense by stacking +attack/crit/single-elemental resist items.
PS, numbers that are in () are green in the photo. This means they are affected somehow in game and can change based on some mechanic.

More than likely not a 10gb install, but definitely could be close. Perhaps somewhere between 3gb-8gb, depending on the amount of data. Diablo 3 is a 3D game, but I don't believe there is a HUGE amount of data to be close to a 10gb install. Dragon Age II, for example only requires 7gb HDD space.

It's in the wiki; in order to get the stats you mention you must have the following passives:
- Ruthless - Increases critical strike chance by 5% and increases critical strike damage by 50%.
- Weak Spot - Increases critical strike damage by 100%.
- Frenzied Attack - When wielding two weapons, the Barbarian has 20% increased critical strike chance and 30% increased critical strike damage.

I am not sure that the system will be all that similar to Borderlands, but I think it might enact the same craving for "Loot Runs" like Borderlands, the Diablo series and even the now-deceased Hellgate: London game. Btw, they have a currently running beta for Hellgate: London. It combines Hellgate: London and an expansion released in another country. No expected release date yet.

Looks VERY similar to Borderlands. From what I've seen so far, you have an extreme amount of customization capability by creating weapons. You can also find and create weapons with varying attributes, like fire and electricity. Early in the game you don't get handguns, but melee weapons. From a lot of videos I've seen, you can THROW your weapons for greater damage. A review of a press demo I read on CNET said that throwing a weapon after it breaks was effective...
I haven't played it at all and I haven't kept up with it as much as D3, but from what I've seen and heard about it, it seems like it would keep me busy until D3's release date.
Like you, I wonder how similar it is to Borderlands. If it is HALF as much fun as Borderlands it would be incredibly worth it!

I like the idea of Spotify, but I'm not very good with knowing exactly what songs I like to listen to, so building a playlist is relatively difficult for me. Slacker Radio takes that job away from me by allowing me to select a "radio station" that I want to listen to based on genre. Usually I just listen to the Alternative or Alternative Hits station and I'm kept entertained with all the music I love to hear yet can never remember the titles or artists' names
Edit:: Clarified post with lengthier explanations
