posted a message on Monk will break this game.
My "2 cents" in this topic would be the Monk would be OP because of the passives that take offensive stats and turn them into defensive stats. Like:
    - while dual-weilding, chance to dodge increased by (10)%
    - Defense increased by (25)% of attack
    - Dodge chance increased by (50)% percent of critical chance.
    - While stunned, feared or charmed damage taken reduced by (75)%
    - Your resistance to all elements is equal to your highest elemental resist.

These are passive skills as found in this picture from the beta:

I love the increased defense by stacking +attack/crit/single-elemental resist items.

PS, numbers that are in () are green in the photo. This means they are affected somehow in game and can change based on some mechanic.

posted a message on Skill Boosting Items
It's difficult to speculate what type of item attributes we'll see in Diablo 3, but I believe there will be some form of +%damage, +%attack, +%defense. This would provide the trickle-down effects you are talking about, without specifically giving +skill levels in specific skills. That way, you can have one item set that would benefit almost all of your offensive specs.

posted a message on LOD: Unlock Cinematics
I don't believe I have ever used the digital download option, but while installing from the disc you received an option as to whether you wanted to install the cinematics and place them on your hard drive. Perhaps the Bnet digital version either doesn't include the cinematics, or you chose not to install them during your install.

posted a message on Diablo 3 Install
Before this thread gets locked or deleted, here's your answer:

More than likely not a 10gb install, but definitely could be close. Perhaps somewhere between 3gb-8gb, depending on the amount of data. Diablo 3 is a 3D game, but I don't believe there is a HUGE amount of data to be close to a 10gb install. Dragon Age II, for example only requires 7gb HDD space.

posted a message on Barbarian possible 25% critical chance / 180% critical damage through passives
    http://www.diablowiki.com/Barbarian#Passive_Skills

It's in the wiki; in order to get the stats you mention you must have the following passives:
    - Ruthless - Increases critical strike chance by 5% and increases critical strike damage by 50%.
    - Weak Spot - Increases critical strike damage by 100%.
    - Frenzied Attack - When wielding two weapons, the Barbarian has 20% increased critical strike chance and 30% increased critical strike damage.

The CNET review I read of the press demo (only allowing a 1-hour play through the campaign) noted that each of the characters had their own unique skill tree with weapon specialization. One guy, for instance, specializes in Blunt weapons, while another specialized in some type of gun. During the 1-hour play demo, they were not able to discover any ranged weapons but got their hands on many melee weapons.

I am not sure that the system will be all that similar to Borderlands, but I think it might enact the same craving for "Loot Runs" like Borderlands, the Diablo series and even the now-deceased Hellgate: London game. Btw, they have a currently running beta for Hellgate: London. It combines Hellgate: London and an expansion released in another country. No expected release date yet.

    Quote from CrusaderGT

Old thread but I'm kinda reviving it because I just learned this game has some kind of loot and rpgey in it. Haven't followed this game so anyone here who does and give me/us some info. It was compared to fallout by IGN but when I checked it maybe also a little of borderlands?

Looks VERY similar to Borderlands. From what I've seen so far, you have an extreme amount of customization capability by creating weapons. You can also find and create weapons with varying attributes, like fire and electricity. Early in the game you don't get handguns, but melee weapons. From a lot of videos I've seen, you can THROW your weapons for greater damage. A review of a press demo I read on CNET said that throwing a weapon after it breaks was effective...

I haven't played it at all and I haven't kept up with it as much as D3, but from what I've seen and heard about it, it seems like it would keep me busy until D3's release date.

Like you, I wonder how similar it is to Borderlands. If it is HALF as much fun as Borderlands it would be incredibly worth it! :D

    posted a message on Spotify
I just checked out their website because of your post. I'm not too sure it would fit the way I use the internet to listen to music. I use a site called Slacker Radio. It's more of an internet radio type service, which offers radio with advertisements and the ability to skip songs so many times in a day. For a premium price, they offer advertisement-free listening, unlimited skips and the ability to cache radio stations on their app for Android/iPhone. Cached radio stations on my phone keeps me entertained for those all-nighters in an area I don't get any service.

I like the idea of Spotify, but I'm not very good with knowing exactly what songs I like to listen to, so building a playlist is relatively difficult for me. Slacker Radio takes that job away from me by allowing me to select a "radio station" that I want to listen to based on genre. Usually I just listen to the Alternative or Alternative Hits station and I'm kept entertained with all the music I love to hear yet can never remember the titles or artists' names :D

Edit:: Clarified post with lengthier explanations :P
