Dec 19, 2012Shoji posted a message on Diablo III Players Banned for Botting, Battle.net Authenticators Temporarily Unavailable, Blue Posts, Heart of the Swarm Beta KeI agree with many others; the banning of "thousands of accounts" for reasons of botting is too little too late. The time it took to create a list of accounts that large, monitor for patterns and then flag the accounts for banning and finally take action against the accounts... the damage had already been done to the game, community and economic infrastructure within the game. Thanks, Blizzard.Posted in: News

You are right, it did add a GPU driver check!
Very small as in it looks like an increase of maybe 20 people playing in public games lol -

Aug 21, 2011Shoji posted a message on Inferno RevealedPosted in: NewsI honestly didn't notice the Thousand Pounder in the upper right that's him alright! Either he's not really a mini boss, but instead just a random instance area. Or by dying he got sent back to hell where he lives again.. Those are my two guesses.
Actually, it is common practice in many games to introduce "champion"-like mobs as mini-bosses. This sets the tone for the next time you meet him. You will encounter much larger and more difficult mobs before you meet him again... hopefully you would have seen an upgrade or two before then, too... that way your next encounter will be much quicker. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

What I have now is the Steelseries Diablo 3 mouse. It is conveniently pre-mapped for your skill keys (keyboard 1 - 4). It could be a bad thing if you use a mouse side buttons for browser back and forward navigation. Out of the box your left/right buttons function properly, but the two side buttons on either side are pre-bound to keys 1-4.
So far I love the feel of the mouse. Not quite a razer comfort feel but very good quality and good click feel.

Stopped in the Barnes and Noble store to get my son a Star Wars lightsabre room light and by chance asked a passing sales guy if they had a strategy guide for Diablo 3. We looked on the shelves, none up, so he looks in his computer system. It showed that he had several in the back. I am now the proud owner of a limited edition guide.

I agree with the majority of what you said. However, colors are much brighter and crisp with an LED backlight. And hey, who doesn't like that sexy cool, thinner than my pinky finger look?!

Negative, Ghost Rider. You will only be provided a link to pre-download the game client if you have pre-purchased through Battle.net. If you pre-purchased at a store there is no place on Battle.net to pre-download.
However, somewhere on this site a link was provided to pre-download the client and have it waiting on your hard drive for the release of the game and input of your cd key. But its up to you... pre-download something onto your harddrive that will be the exact same build that is on the disc provided in the retail box you purchased? Both the pre-download client and the retail disc will require a release-day patch!
I have to get back to the hospital with my wife and newborn, otherwise I would look up that link to the client download for you. Its buried in these forums somewhere.

- "You can use this ability to dash and strike anything you can target."
This ability isn't restricted to use only on enemies. You can dash accross the screen to hit a barrel if you wish. Personally I love getting from point A to B as quickly as possible so I don't mind spending some resources. After the beta patch update that greatly increased the damage of mobs, I used dashing strike on barrels around the room to avoid certain death while plahing Hardcore.
Hope this helps.

This!
I have found that there is no solution or easy way to merge gaming with a happy marriage life unless she is a hardcore gamer as well. The only thing to suggest is to be honest and upfront. I can say that my wife absolutely dispises games but she realizes that it is something that I can never give up. I have told her about this game for the last 8 months so she knows it exists and that I will disappear when it releases. She isn't excited about that, but she knows what to expect.
But my marriage life isn't that simple! She had a due date of 3 May with our first child. I was hoping to have our child born any time after 6 May so that my 10 paid leave days from work (standard rule for active duty military) will overlap with release. Surprisingly, she started having her first contractions Sunday at 7pm and it was time! Our son Tomass was born at 3:15 am.
So this means that I must request additional time off from work and manage the angry wife, crying newborn and diablo 3 after it releases.
I would suggest you keep your significant other informed of any plans to "game." Always let her know that tomorrow after dinner you will go "shoot some people" or "kill dragons." You will be surprised what her reaction would be. "I want to see it" or "Wow, that looks so real, maybe I should try to play!" (In reference to Battlefield 3).
Never let her think that you value a video game more than her. Always spend time with her, but DO NOT over compensate (ie, give a million gifts so you can 'justify' spending less time with her). My wife is from a European country called Latvia. I thought American women hated games, but she had the hardest time adjusting/accepting that I play games. We have come to some kind of an agreement or terms that she likes. She understands that she will lose me for a few hours, a night or weeks after d3 is released, but she knows I won't forget about her and I still love her.

Yea man, I've got a 470 as well but I don't seem to notice the sound of the card at peak performance. Next year I will be rebuilding my rig... have to wait till then. I love my 470, though!

To answer your absurd question, Blizzard is reactive and not proactive. They will take action they deem appropriate to ban or deter people abusing the systems they have set in place.
Ie, you have nothing to worry about for some time.
PS - Stop being shady

Currently assigned as the sole medical provider for a Marine Corps unit.
Any given day of the month, I get to be a phlebotomist, nutritionist, occupational medicine technician, laboratory technician, preventive medicine technician, emergency medicine/trauma technician, healthcare case manager, referral manager, expert Tricare representative...
And the favorite part of my job: giving my Marines their vaccinations. I think I have a fetish for making big burly Marines cry like babies
