When Joe's friend gives him a top 1% sword... approximately 99% of his sword drops will either be the same or worse. If that sword statistically takes 200 hours to find and you gave it to him at hour zero... You just doomed him to nerd rage and bitch about all his sword drops being trash for hundreds of hours. -

lordsetarurare posted a message on Kaylaj's ( AKA Col1Kill ) B2 Bomber specWell Lenekk beat me to the punch posting a Grenade Spec but still no reason for me to not post mine, the following spec is built around team play but is still viable for solo play. also this is for level 60 I will update it after ROS goes live with a level 70 edit down below.Posted in: Demon Hunter: The Dreadlands
Here is a link to the build:http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/demon-hunter#gcYSkl!geh!ccZbaY
I will link a video later once I get it filmed.
Primary: Grenade W/gas Grenades - If we are going for a things that go boom build grenade is a no-brainer, the rune chosen here is to add a dot very useful in both team and solo play, need to run? no problem toss a gas grenade drop a caltrops and scram also the damage done is all poison.
Secondary: Rapid fire W/Bombardment - again this is a given we are going for a grenade spec so rapid fire that tosses grenades is self explanitory, also it does good damage.
Defensive: Caltops W/Torturous ground - one thing we need as a demon hunter is a way to keep the mobs away so we use this combo to not only slow the mob that may be chasing us or another squishy but to snare them for 2 seconds as well adding extra time for you to get away and your melee to get to the mob.
Hunting: Companion W/ boar - this guy adds a lot to us, lets look at his benifits, passive: in this mode he does 100% Wep Damage to targets in front of him, second he grants us 826 Life per second, and lastly he grants us 20% to all resistance. so as a passive pet he grants us a lot of helpful utility; However he also has a nice Active, Let us look at that. Active: when activated he will charge at us and taunt all enemies with in 20 yards for 5 seconds, this is a very very helpful way to get out of a nasty situation. over all I think boar offers too much utility to go ignored.
Devices: Sentry W/Spitfire Turret - ( this will tie into a passive ) First the rune used here is optional and is used to keep with the " things that go boom " theme. second If you don't like this rune then no problem change it, if you do change it the passive Ballistics ( disscused in passives section ) will be unnecessary.
Archery: Rain of Vengeance W/Anathema - boom need i say more? ok first I know " BUT KAYLAJ SHADE IS A BIGGER AREA!!! " yeah yeah I know; however Anathema hits harder making it better for elites and bosses, shade is great for trash pack farming but us a bit of a loss when fighting a boss.
Passives:
--------- Grenadier - This passive is a must it grants our grenades 10% damage and increases the blast radius of the grenade attacks by 20%, very nice if left right there but thats not all IF we die out body explodes for 1000% weapon damage as fire damage.
--------- Archery - this is an easy one each type of weapon grants you a buff with this active. Bows - 8% damage, Crossbows - 50% crit damage, Hand CB - 5% crit hit chance, 2nd hand CB 1 Hatred per second. so this passive is a very very nice buff
--------- Ballistics - this one synergies with our theme and with our sentry, it increases damage of rockets by 100%, also grants you a 20% chance to fire a homing rocket for 150% weapon damage when you attack. this is nice but if you don't use Spitfire turret its not really needed and can be swapped out for one that fits your play style better. -

Funny to see that after more than a year we stillhave the same fucktards with the same arguments.
What a kiddie forum. Learn to read you suckers.
Always good to have you around bud. Your unbiased insight and intelligent arguments really sway me to your side, and man do you have a knack for leaving personal attacks out of the argument. Instead you focus on the meat of the issue, much respect. The way you laid out everything that's wrong, and more importantly how you put down your own feedback on how to fix said problems amazes me. Keep the threads a'comin! -

Jamoose posted a message on Why I am (not) buying the expansionThis is just beating the same old dead horse over and over. Trading is gone because it is inherently flawed in a way that it creates a breeding ground for scams, 3rd party websites, bots, etc, etc. The new systems like smart loot, rifts, bounties, blood shards, are all there to remove the need for trading. Play with your close friends if you want to be able to share items with them.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
You wanted betting on pvp with gold and you didn't get it, boo hoo. Guess what, nobody cares.
"trading thats what people want" Oh really? Well i guess you are wrong then because not everybody feels so strongly about trading. Personally i couldn't care less. I was a bit hesitant at first, but when i saw what they are doing with the ptr / beta, i just accepted it. I probably sound like a total asshole but again, nobody cares dude, seriously this topic got so old so fast. Just don't buy the game and good luck with your life.
And don't tell me i need to go play d2 because i can basically teach you all about it. -

mannercookie posted a message on Blizzard removes enchanting for "60 items", oh but 2.0.1 60s can be enchanted...http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/11306220847Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
I got my second perma-ban from forums so moving the discussion over here.
So I'm really confused where they got their feedback from that allowed them to come to this conclusion that 60 items are competitive with 70 items, this is simply.
FALSE
For those of you who are going to respond with RIP RMAH CC WARRIORS, let me remind you that this affects everyone that has been farmed through the demonic essence system as well.
Basically this means that 99% of items found in D3V, depending on when 2.0.1 comes out ofc, is useless in the upcoming expansion.
but the remainder items can still be enchanted, so they haven't really "changed" anything.
Thoughts?

shaggy posted a message on So, the drop-rate are fine apparently...Posted in: Diablo III General Discussionhttp://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/11307900907?page=23#451
Of note:
Second and more importantly. I'm in the process of working up another hotfix for the beta that will do 2 things.
1. Reduce the chance for Kadala to give legendary items. We have a lot of solutions to the split farming problem but they are going to take a little time to be put in place and in the mean time we don't want peoples feedback to be completely skewed based on her rewards. This reduction will be revisited once we fix all the split farming issues.
2. Double the legendary drop rate. Your feedback hasn't been falling on deaf ears, and much discussion and deliberation has gone into it. We know that drop rates aren't exactly where we want them right now and it's very important to us to get as much feedback as possible during our beta. We are going to adjust the legendary drop rates via hotfix so that you guys have as much time as possible to test and give us feedback on how the changes feel, also more time for us to compile data and get RoS to be the best it can be.At least they heard us about wanting more drops from monsters and less drops from gambling. Doubled drop rates should then put us roughly around 1 legendary per hour. That actually sounds somewhat reasonable given the variety of legendaries, etc.

shaggy posted a message on So, the drop-rate are fine apparently...Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionTrue, but then factor that unless you start in Torment, those hours spent in Master/Expert aren't yielding the GOOD legendaries.
Then factor when you do get to Torment those GOOD legendaries have a lower drop chance than the regular legendaries.
So in 1500 hours you very well may have 5+ Strongarm Bracers, but you also very well may not have a Grandfather, Windforce, etc.
And this is ultimately the problem and the disconnect. By the time you've made it to Torment you don't give a rat's ass if you've found five, ten, or two hundred Strongarm Bracers. At this point those items are being used as fodder to enchant and re-enchant your gear so that you can up the difficulty and nothing more.
So, frankly, saying that after 1500 hours people have found "six of each legendary" is hugely misleading because you're ignoring the fact that the legendaries they need to go past Torment 1 are the ones that weren't dropping in Master and below, and they're also the ones that have a decidedly lower drop rate than the ones they've found so many of.
They are, essentially, the Isenheart's Breastplate of D3. Did anyone actually care that Isenheart's Breastplate seemed to have a 50% chance to drop? Not at all.

itirnitii posted a message on Travis Day on "Legendaries/set items being soulbound"I have been in agreement with legendary and set items being strictly soulbound for a long time now and have been a proponent of that for a long time. I am glad that Travis Day agrees with me on this as finding a legendary should actually FEEL legendary. If any item is tradable it automatically becomes trivial because when thousands upon thousands of people are playing every day that item will just be everywhere and so easy to obtain it can't possibly feel good to own it and have found it yourself. You can't have your cake and eat it too on this one.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
It makes even more sense in the fact that they want to make every legendary good and useful and not have crappy rolls on it. Everyone wants legendaries to feel legendary and have very low range on affix rolls and also drop often enough to not be extremely scarce, but you can't have that if the legendaries are tradeable because it makes them too abundant and obsolete.
We all want our characters to feel unique, and making legendaries soulbound on pick up proliferates this. If legendaries are used to open up new builds, then when you are using that new build because you actually found that legendary then in a way that build becomes inherently unique to your character. Your friends can't just trade for the item and use that build within the hour. If they want that build they have to put in the work and find that item themselves.
Think about set items as well. When you see someone with all the parts of Tal Rasha or Immortal Kings you know that person actually FOUND all of those set pieces making the set bonuses that much more impressive. They didn't just trade for them all with ease. It actually has inherent meaning to own them all.
Think of how much more rewarding finding a legendary will feel when you factor in all these things.
Let's not forget how soulbound legendaries will negatively affect duping, botting, scamming, and pay to win. Totally worth it.
I am really excited for this change and I know that the majority do not agree with me on this but I hope that this will make it into the final product. I'm sure everyone will whine though and it will get overturned, but one can dream. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

From Reddit:-
Found an Insufferable Miscreant a few moments ago.
They function similarly to a Malevolent Tormentor, only they summon Vault Peons instead of teleporting around and have a similar lootsplosion upon death.

If you don't like whats being discussed you can stay out of it. Quin talks a lot of sense and actually helps the player base with his videos. And whats wrong with him saying he's on top when he really was on top at the end of season 1. You got a problem with people speaking the truth? Or maybe you're just jealous.
Why don't you tell the guys here at Diablofans to stop posting datamined info on the front page? Cause as you said, in a month we'll have all the info and then, according to you, we can start talking "literally" about possible builds. Whatever that means.
I didn't know i needed your permission to make threads about monks.

Quin talks about the 2.2 changes to sets and possible builds.
2.2 Monk Sets
1. "Monks will be Gods."
---Boost your attack speed through 2 piece Raiment, Flying Dragon, Miranae and Alacrity passive.
---Remove all CHC on your character. This is to game Broken Promise which will give you 100% CHC if you don't crit for 5 hits. With all that crazy attack speed you will have 98% uptime of that 100% buff
---Get perma Serenity through reworked Zodiac ring that now gives RCD to one of your skills every time you use a resource.
---Quin thinks this can easily take you to GR50s and was able to get his sheet dps to 10-11 million through some gear optimization.
2. "Monk Sentries"
---6 piece Innas now causes your Mystic Allys to cast spenders like EP, LTK, WoL when you cast them.
---2 Piece Innas doubles the passive effect of your Mystic Ally and base passive effect of your Mantras.
---In the video he shows how you can range down mobs by casting EP through your Mystic Allys, effectively turning Monks into M6 Demon Hunters.
---However the effect of the rune used for the mantras is not being doubled. Also the fact that you are forced into using the Inna wep instead of a Furnace if you want the full Inna-Wuko synergy kinda holds this build back.
3. "Raekor Monk"
---4 piece Raiment increases wep dmg of Dashing Strike to 5000%
---6 piece Raiment makes Dashing Strike cost 50 spirit and refund a charge when used.
---Use reworked Zodiac to have perma Epiphany : Insight. Through this you can spam Dashing Strike to your hearts content.
---Using un-optimized gear and a 4k Furnace he was getting 700million crits. He thinks 1 billion hits can be achieved with optimized gear.
Edit:- Sorry for just posting the vid Baggy

The loot system itself needs to be completely overhauled where Legendaries and Set items have a specified stat range and they can leave RNG to go ape shit with the Rares. Kinda like how it was in Diablo 2. Of course they will never do that, as having their player base curse them every time an unidentified item drops is far more favorable than actually letting them have fun and feel rewarded.
Oh well, somethings better than nothing and imho the D3 armory looks way better than the WoW one.
So...yay?
