posted a message on Inferno Ponies, or Inferno Act III?
I think it's the same gear chance if I remember right, though part of me is wanting to say ponies is better. I'd go with ponies just to mix up the scenery for a while if nothing else. Also it just seems like more non-stop lootfest compared to actually running through levels where you've done quests.

posted a message on Why isn't Diablo 3 a retextured Diablo 2? Because it was better...
    Quote from Mordoran

-I remember having to carry around a tome of tps and id scrolls(or talk to cain) to identify these crappy items just to find out that they are only valuable as ground decorations or gold... which had only 2 purposes in the game...(repairs and resurrecting mercs)

Give me that back please. At least that was alot faster than what is currently in D3 where you manually have to click EVERY single item -.-

Wait what? You had to click the id scroll an then the item in d2 how is that different? or use a hotkey then choose the item.

I guess unless you used Cain, I could never wait to get back there though.

An interesting theory about Slenderman is that he is a Tulpa.

Areas of intense Fortean phenomena are called window areas. Many of them were places of former religious importance that have now waned or fallen from use. Could the worship or occult use of an area over hundreds of years create a sort of artificial life form? Something that fed on the worship. When the worship is taken away the "thing" still needs to feed. It now feeds by creating fear with paranormal manifestations. Another idea is that they are a massive, collective, sub-conscious, thought form. The thought form or tulpa is said to be a 3-D semi solid image created by the power of the mind. Buddhist llamas [sic] in Tibet are said to be able to summon up tulpas during intense meditation. Western explorer Dame Alexandra [David-Néel] was said to have created a tulpa of a monk whilst studying in Tibet. Polish medium Franek Kluski (Teofil Modrzejewski) was said to have summoned up huge cats, birds, and even ape-men during séances. Perhaps, considering the types of beast he called up, he was creating tulpas. If individuals can create tulpas imagine what the collective, gestalt mind of humanity as a species could do. Perhaps dragons are a giant worldwide thought form emanating from our innermost fears.[14]

So the more people become aware of him and the more fear of him is spread the more power he holds. A thoughtform come to life that thrives on fear. That's pretty terrifying.

Unfortunately these turned out to be altered real images.

It's hard to play and type at the same time. :( Or afk and type. It feels awkward having a conversation while playing. Type something, go fight a champion pack, stop, read the reply, reply in kind, repeat. Lot of starting and stopping that sort of detracts from the conversation and the game.

Yeah I'd say you either need to pick up more DPS maybe through crit/crithit or pick up more resists to survive. Your vitality looks a little low also if you're going to run with low resists, though it might be fine if you up your dps.

With weapon and shield it might be better for you to run with deadly reach and keen eye. That's 50% to armor right there. I know its so slow which sort of sucks but with your resists it may be easier to just up your armor.

Your resists aren't terrible but with lowish dps it's going to take a while to kill stuff. It's very easy to sort of... go crazy with survivability and forget that its really beneficial to kill things fast as well. I made that mistake and am still trying to dig my way out.

That's Skovos, home of the Amazons, and no Blizzard confirmed years ago it wouldn't be in the game. Just like Ureh.

It was probably just a nice piece of concept art they explored early on and decided to give it to us but ditched the idea early on of it actually being in the game.

Well, yeah and a lot of it is still there probably as well, I don't think they're deleting it all. There is also a difference between constructive criticism and an unreasonable request. Things that would change core design elements that would cost more than they think may be worth it. They're not opposed to thinking about good ideas and making changes that are within reasonable reach, why would they be? They want the product to be as successful as it can be as well.

I think it's important for people who are upset to have a place to vent their frustrations. There does come a point though when it's just too much negativity and not enough constructive criticism. They use the forums as a means to see how people feel and what they would like changed. So when a lot of posters are just mindlessly bashing the game and offering no room for discussion it brings all real discussion to a grinding halt.

    That's true for all forums.

They didn't work on the game for 10 years, session spoofing was a baseless rumor proven to be false, and if people are being actually banned for using the RMAH they're probably doing something shady. The other stuff you're right though.

All games will have problems with launches though, not saying it hasn't been pretty bad but I don't think its ruined the game. At least not for me.

A little off-topic with the spam filters thing.

The problem with that is no matter how you change a filter to automatically ban someone it's going to keep happening. For example a lot of bots we get are from emails @126.com, if we banned those, they'd move to another free email service. If we banned or blocked messages with .com, they just add spaces . c o m, if we ban it with spaces they change it to "(dot)com" if we disallow all use of the characters c o m in the first post of an account, they just switch a site to .cn or .ru or somewhere else. If they want to bypass it they can.

I'm also not sure it's very expensive to annoy people compared to how much they make scamming people on WoW or selling gold. That part is speculative though as I've never ran a bot farm. :P

Anyways sorry for off-topic. Just wanted to talk about how much I hate spam bots.
