Gonna watch this as I can.

Whatcha think of bow vs Xbow? I leveled up thinking bows were far superior, but now in inferno I've kind of accepted that DH's are glass cannons until ULTRA GEAR and picked up sheer damage passives, including sharpshooter, archery, steady aim. Naturally sharpshooter is good for all of them, but it seems like it and archery have some serious synergy given the added crit and then crit multiplier.

It'd be nice if I could find a 1k bow and a 1k xbow with a socket to test out, without sharpshooter buffed, and with it buffed.

It would be nice to half-kill elite packs in the first 3 shots.

posted a message on Which amulet?
First, especially if you're using a quick weapon like a bow or hand crossbow, it messes with my wrist to try and stutter step with ridiculously quick IAS anyways, plus the build I run with (sharpshooter) crits a lot, especially on openers and that could be a lot of damage extremely fast using nether tentacles on aoe or grievous wounds Impale (though I think chemical burn is the better option until we reach huge levels of crit), always. On my quiver I have 7.5% crit amongst a bunch of other useful stats and I try and pick up crit where I can get it when it's not replacing an important stat otherwise.

    Damage+ survivability vs damage.

Watching the live stream for the launch event and a bunch of information was just confirmed about the game and the lore for me, without having looked at other spoilers. I still can't see the whole picture, all of the dots for example, but it's been the first time I've ever cared about the story in a game this much.

    Cheers fellas. >:}

I know I'm a month late to the party, but I nearly fell out of my chair laughing when this unexpected commercial aired a few minutes ago after a set between Supernova and Hero.

Sorry if it's a repost, thought I'd share in case it's not ;P And sorry if I'm breaking some kind of advertising rule or something, I'm far out of my element.

posted a message on Blizzard's response on weapon animations
It may sound silly but being able to be battle ready or slap your shield on your back when you want to is a really nice cosmetic feature that definitely makes you feel more powerful and in control. It may sound silly but when I played lotro it drove me crazy that my character just automatically never put away his shield, and made me appreciate having the feature in wow (of all games I know :P).

Blizzard admitted to their staff picking up on trends. I'm not talking about one person making a thousand threads (like I do in the pvp forums here ;P) but a bunch of people having a common issue or being really passionate about something in a mature manner concerning something they believe should be in the game.

For instance Jay recognized that people were not entirely happy with the second implementation of the rune system, even though it was just maybe half the posting community. It was only under the present circumstances that he was able to own up to it because it's their game and they have an agenda, but people are heard if the opinion is becomming of the game and it's agenda and also if the idea is advertised well.

While you guys worry about who is or who is not a true diablo fan, I'll just be over here in the corner contemplating about things that actually matter.

PS my dad can beat up your dad, I have a 3 foot long member, I own 9 cars, a mansion, two cottages and a beach house, and sleep with a model wife.

posted a message on Diablo 3 Customization sucks?
    Quote from Dawn

Okay I haven't played Beta so I'm not 100% on any of this, it's just what I've read off the internet. But here's just some stuff I've noticed. In Diablo 3, you can't add attributes (strength, vitality, intelligence etc). The attributes just get added automatically, correct? And with skills, you can't level skills up (like level 20 skeletons in D2). You can only get the skill once, and then add runes if you want to make it stronger. After realizing all this, I realized that there is hardly ANY customization in D3 at all. It's really limited. Someone said on another website that at level 13, practically everyone's wizards are exactly the same. Attributes the same, skills the same (because you can now just re-choose and swap skills whenever you want). The only way to customize your character is through items and runes. Doesn't all this kind of suck? I mean it makes the game way more boring. I'd really love to make a Melee Wizard or something, but if we can't control the attributes, it makes it much harder to have unique heroe builds.

What do you guys think? If I've got some stuff wrong, please explain how it all works (and how customization is in fact very good, if that's the case?)
The customization lost from the old skill tree has been enhanced by the customization gained through the new one, or rather from having to pick a few skills from many, and also because despite the fact you have fewer open slots for skills than skills in the first place by far, you also have many varients of each skill to choose from in the form of runes.

Attributes being gone is fine. Everyone just got the amount of stats they needed to equip gear, or get max block, and went pure vitality and that was that, if they knew anything at all. That really wasn't a way to customize your character for any half-decent player.

You still have a lot of things you can customize such as gear, dyes, banner and other elements still. The horadric cube is gone but we have new ways of crafting and the process is somewhat random all the same.

Don't worry friend, diablo 3 is going to be sick. Just two and a half weeks longer.

posted a message on Unlock #7 - Developer Diary IV
The skill system of fine, it's the skill UI that is a nightmare. They took something simple that makes sense and made it more confusing under the flag of easy to play hard to master.

It was cool seeing Jay's reaction to the communities reaction. People gave Sixen a lot of crap for asking a bunch of questions concerning the reveal of the second implementation of the rune system (with random affixes) during an interview but he was soooooo right for doing so and props to him for bearing the burden of shouldering that flag for us right off the bat cause that would have been freaking awful.

posted a message on What class do you think will be on top?
Here's another thought, and it has more to do with the gameflow than the characters themselves. We're looking at a team deathmatch type scenario. I'm guessing cooldowns will persist through death and you will respawn with max stats.

The various class resource mechanics will be influenced in various ways by this, (as well as the cookie cutter build types using more short cooldown or non cooldown abilities, or not). If you die and come back, maybe having a charge up fury mechanic would be stronger because you reach critical mass and get your buffs rolling and tank well after persisting through hard cooldown moments. Or, for instance and also more likely, arcane power or the dual demon hunter resource mechanic can be dumped quickly for a quick reward and be recharged during the downtime/kiting/lower intensity parts of battles that lie inbetween.

    Just some food for thought.
