Congrats! Hope you have a lot of success when the game goes live. Mind posting the amount of gold looted (in profile UI)? I want to know how much of it was farmed and how much was earned through the AH.
Nice job, I noticed the matching sets too and did a crappy photoshop job just to see the set together. I knew someone would eventually put together all the sets. Also there should be male and female versions of each tier if I remember correct.
From the leaked screens below, there are 2 hander crossbows, plus it looks like you could even add a quiver to the slot on the right. I'm not sure if a quiver is considered a weapon slot or will every DH be able to equip one. Although in the item tooltip for quivers, it does say off-hand and there doesn't seem to be slots for 2 crossbows plus the quiver.
Play through all the classes to see which play style I like best for when it goes live. Since the level cap in beta is ~13? I hope the artisans are available to mess around with so we could have some more in-depth info about them. Maybe throw up some videos as well.
If you just don't bid higher than you should, the only outcome of sellers trying this will be them buying their own items.
This is one thing that might stop some of them. When you buy your own item, assuming the pool of accounts involved is your money, you will lose money through the AH cut and pay another listing fee (if you wanted to re-post) since it would have been a sale if you didn't buy it.
Ex with made up numbers:
$10 item gets bid up to $20 by 2nd account
$20 final sale price that you have to pay, since no one bid after you
Receive $19 in your sellers account after paying posting/final sales fee
End result: Lose $1
However, some will take this risk so many times that they come out on top especially rare items or server first drops. $1 also seems a bit high for fixed fees, it might be as low as 10 cents to post and up to 50 cents for the final sale fee. Just my guess, although on the G4TV discussion, someone mentioned it was 5-10 cents to post. Still, risking a few dollars on costs for an extra $5-$10 might be an incentive for some players.
This is all assuming someone actually wants to buy your auctions for real money instead of the gold auction house. I have a feeling there will be a lot of RMAH items that simply won't sell or will become too cheap so it ends up on the gold only AH.
Thanks for the heads up! I'll look for them. Just waiting for that beta... everything is just speculation now and even in the beta it will be hard to tell how the economy will function when it goes live. Really looking forward to crafting with random stats plus all the unknown factors that the Mystic and Jeweler will bring to the table.
I believe Blizzard said they wouldn't have character sales on day one and will be implemented later on. So I think you will still have a sense of accomplishment or achievement if you hit level 60 and start running Inferno difficulty. I'm not sure how it was during D2 release, but there will only be so many high level items for sale and only so many people that would pay the amounts asked. Chances of you running into that person is pretty slim so you might not even know that Windforce 2.0 dropped and was sold to some one.
I do wonder if prices will be lower since there it's off the black market (3rd party sites). Players will all have access to the auction house and be able to buy/sell legally.
Hi D3Fans! I'm excited for Diablo 3. It has been too long since D2. Even tried out Torchwood Torchlight recently for my Diablo fix. A little background info on me. In 2008 I launched a WoW economy blog, which was very rare back then. It focused on making gold in an efficient, non-farming way, and eventually helped players hit the old gold cap of 214,000 and eventually the 1 million gold cap. There's also a hall of fame for the richest players in WoW. With the announcement of Diablo 3's RMAH, we hope to create a site (a work in progress) much similar to our other one. A place to stay up to date on the Diablo 3 economy, gold/cash tips, farming builds/strategies, crafting guides, hall of fame, ect. Also might consider podcasting, livestreaming, or video tutorials. I joined these forums in order to learn more about Diablo, since it is different from an MMO, as well as interact with the community and maybe even exchange some ideas about the auction house. The news coverage and podcasts have been great! I've been following Force since his Starcraft 2 videos.
I hope to be as successful economically in D3 as I was in WoW and also teach other players to do the same.
