No one is going to go out to get you just for having an opinion.

If we make every ethereal being some form of ghostly white/grey, then the experience will just start to feel mundane and less interesting... and ultimately less-Diablo considering the variety we had seen in the previous two entries.

Teal will be used for the same reason why any colour will be used.

I am going to say this once and only once: you are going to see the entire colour palette during your journey through Sanctuary. Yes. You will even see a unique monster that radiates with pink, just like in Diablo II. You will see teal. You will see bright yellow. Sometimes it will seem like a rave party is approaching you rapidly.

But you will also see scenery that is almost monochrome. Sepia-tone, even. You will see crude browns, bloodied scarlet, drowned navy blues and spine-tingling whites mixed with ruinous scenic elements.

I can guarantee you that you will see teal many more times in your adventure. We need to discard our favourite colours and accept that this is necessary for the sake of diversity in design. Diablo III is really set out to make every area and monster feel very fresh and different, even across multiple playthroughs. Personally I hate colours like white and orange, and love colours like purple, pink and black, but I am not going to feel any indifferent towards the colours of the enemies I face, barring the fact that a purple or pink enemy is more likely to grab my attention out of how cool they cool.

Though of course there is nothing stopping me from taking up pink threads with the dye system.

Because every other online expedition into dungeons for mindless slaying of monsters has been ruined by "improvements" through patches, updates and expansions. How are developers messing up something so simple as killing mooks? At least Diablo III will last three years before I need to be wary of anything ruining it.

I think you forgot how Diablo 2 was. Your left click was automatically mapped to moving/ auto attacking... however you could remap this into move/skill (if the click lands on a suitable target).

I don't at all forget how this worked in D2. What I'm saying is, there is no command to fast swap between skills now, so if you have attack as one of your skills out of six, that means one fewer skill you can have active at that point.
They have already said many times that you can change your left-click action with the Tab Key or mousewheel. This will surely be customizable in the Control Configurations menu.

Fury is my favourite in terms of feeling and mechanics, so that has my vote. Even though I am usually a purple person, Mana looks the best. They all look great, except Hatred/Discipline. Too dark, which is only worse with a dark frame around it and being split in two.

    "Ah, fresh meat!"

I must have been in my teens when that happened and I still just about relieved my body from every possible orifice. The fact that the game freezes for a bit when the door to The Butcher is opened just makes it worse. Then, while your heart is racing and your body goes into an adrenaline rush, you notice your health is dropping rapidly and you cannot take your eyes off the various bodies scrambled around the room.

I do not think anyone was denying that there would be class-specific affixes (kind of a waste not to have them), nor did anyone state class-specific gear was bad. :>

The potential is wonderful. Dare I say we could potentially see some sort of affix that generates Discipline based on Hatred spent? The Demon Hunter has a lot of potential in that regard, having two unique resources.

Was confirmed as removed in early August with that visit to Blizzard HQ. It is not on a different part of the UI. It is gone.

    That is my point.

That we already have class-specific gear. They do not need to add it to things that can be equipped to any class. Not saying they should add more class-restricted gear. I am saying that the class-specific gear we already have are prime candidates, because what shows up as stats on that sort of thing is already irrelevant. If you get a Barbarian-exclusive axe and you never play Barbarian, you have no reason to care whether it affects Fury generation or not.

There is no reason for them to roll for modifiers that affect resources on equipment that can be equipped by any class, because they can more safely go with the route of something that only one class can equip anyway. Nothing is lost.

Something tells me that Diablo III will actually reference Diablo more than its direct sequel,

Well im not so sure about that, someone from the dev team in a panel said that the male barbarian is THE barb from D2, and i believe we will see a lot of references from d2 about kurast, mount arreat, Tyrael will be in there too for sure. I think only the act 1 will be centered around diablo 1 and the rest will explain about why they did what they did in D2 (Izual clearly say that it was planed all along with the soulstones and that it was too late to stop the real plan).
The Diablo III Barbarian being the same as the Diablo II Barbarian was something called off later in development. Unless they have changed their minds yet again, it is going to be a totally fresh character due to lore complications.

My point was not to say Diablo III will not heavily reference Diablo II. My point is Diablo III will cover the events of original much better than the original did because they have exponentially more venues for storytelling. The vagueness of the original Diablo, due to its age, leaves much more to explain. The recent retcon of the Warrior, among other lore changes and things mentioned at the discussion panel, are sure signs of more to come.

It is hard to say, now that they have dropped Willpower from the game. We do not know how much Fury generation will scale in regards to the choice of weapon the Barbarian wields. Since they are going to have more affixes in Diablo III than Diablo II, I see no reason as to why they would not have very slight beneficiaries. I do not think there will be a blanket stat. This can be a common modifier on class-specific equipment, kind of like +skill in Diablo II.

I was a bit vague in my post, so I will clarify:

Class-specific gear will always exist, and will likely drop for every character. Putting stats that only affect a specific resource is okay, because a Monk picking up an orb with +Arcane Power regeneration as opposed to picking up an orb with +Faster Cast Rate is going to feel indiffierent. As long as it is not placed on rares, sets and uniques that everyone can equip, there can really be no serious harm.

Most importantly, it means no more mana leech. Mana leech... potentially the most essential stat for physical characters in Diablo II (plus Life Leech if you are of the melee sort). This means every class will be designed to sustain their resource throughout combat scenarios to keep them fun to play.

At this point it leaves resource modifiers as something you can have, but do not need. You can choose between a claw with +Spirit Regeneration, or a claw with +Precision. My point still stands that there is no reason not to have resource-related affixes on equipment that is designated for a particular class, as every class is designed for being able to be able to sustain their resources without it.

Something tells me that Diablo III will actually reference Diablo more than its direct sequel, at least that is how they made it sound at their discussion panels. I think it is not so much preference, as it is possibilities. Diablo III will be much better at storytelling. In fact, we did see footage of the Lazarus and King Leorc story arc.

... If I hear the Barbarian say "Not enough Rage!", I am going to bust a lung with laughter.

posted a message on What class do you think will be on top?
You will never outmatch a Barbarian at a close range, and he has more ways to counter control/escape mechanisms than any other class. He can realistically grab 5 abilities that mitigate if not completely nullify the ability for ranged characters to keep away, and then top it off with a skill for dealing actual damage. The Monk will have about the same potential melee damage, but the Barbarian has superior stamina by a great margin.

Barbarian is not supposed to be balanced 1v1. He will not scale up as proportionately against smart teams that know how to keep him under control without fueling the fury.
