not like these killstreaks mean anything anyways. especially after that ridiculous 11,000 killstreak video of a guy killing infinitely spawning skeletons. Not impressive, imo.

    Quote from overneathe

I like how they did not mention a single word about EU. Heh. Gratz US! I'd be surprised to find a lot of people that did _not_ get an invite over there.

I thought that it may have been implied here?

We’ll have more information about these global giveaways as well as regional betas in the coming weeks.

Keep in mind everything detailed in the article today is already in the game, and most of it is complete. Once you get Patch 10 and see that, I think it may sink in that these aren't theoretical changes we're still working on, they're changes we've completed. Obviously the potion button still needs a little work to hook it up correctly, and the character attribute changes need to be balanced and tested for itemization throughout the game, but overall these are changes we've already made.

I do not intend to impress that we're close to release, or infer any such "we're <-- this --> done" kind of statement, but most of these are fairly straightforward changes that are already complete and implemented. We do have more changes, skills and runes, affixes to add, more items, Battle.net features, testing, testing, and more testing etc. to do so we're obviously still not there yet, but none of the changes detailed today are theoretical or yet to be implemented.

so calm the F down lol. all they have to work on is skill/runes for the next few months to release the game, so they can stop focusing on all that stuff cuz its DONE.

why does everyone ignore the big yellow part? Bashiok said its not close to release.

This is just simply not true. The part in yellow is NOT saying that the game isn't close to release. This is Bashiok's disclaimer, saying that HE IS NOT INFERRING that the game is close to release.

He does not want to get yelled at by making this post, so he is giving these encouraging words in a non-official manner, so he won't get kicked in his ass when someone says "WELL BASHIOK IN THAT POST YOU SAID THE CHANGES WERE ALREADY COMPLETED...SO THE GAME MUST BE DONE SOON.."

The point of this post is to let everyone know that they don't need to freak out about the vastness of these changes.

omg... we get it. You guys are so disappointed in Blizzard...you've been a fan since Bashiok was born; you named your son Griswold; you've been waiting soooooooooooooo long for a release date, and if they don't announce a release date within the next 15 minutes, you're quitting all Blizzard games FOREVER.

Please shutup with it all. No one cares. They are developing the damn game, and they will release it when it's done. You're not special.

posted a message on Yet another speculative longshot
Now this is most likely nothing, but I was looking around at various Blizzard Twitter accounts, and I saw an interesting tweet on Rob Pardo's account:

    http://twitter.com/#!/Rob_Pardo/status/154277133273935872

Rob Pardo received a tweet from this guy Pasquale Romano, who is the Director of VIP Services at this popular celebrity club in Vegas.

Apparently they're friends, and the guy wants to catch up. Now, Vegas is at least 250 miles away from Irvine, CA, so this is no evening drive...this would be at least a weekend thing for him.

Rob Pardo is the VP of Game Design at Blizzard (big wig basically), and I'd think he'd want to be around when they announce D3. Since they're in crunch mode, his response to Romano seems to indicate that he will have free time DEFINITELY by February--as they are obviously quite busy at the moment.

Release date announcement by February? I know this is a longshot, but I'm bored.. lol.

posted a message on New Diablo Concept Art (From 15th Anniversary Video) *Spoiler*?
I'm still convinced that the Diablo fight will be in some sort of phase arrangement. There may be a male phase where he is strong physically, and a female phase in which he is some powerful caster type.

Either that, or it's random. Every time you fight Diablo, he could be in a different form...maybe?

posted a message on Non-Diablo music while playing
When I get a new game, I always listen to ONLY the in-game sounds and music for a while.

For Diablo 3, I will *definitely* not play music for a while--at least until I've played through the entire Normal mode to catch the whole story.

But when I do listen to music during games, it's a mixture of Metal/Black Metal/Death Metal bands.

posted a message on Beta Key Contest #4
Binkles the Frog has survived more horror than many men have. He was originally meant as a sacrificial delicacy to Astroga, the pet of Diablo. Binkles escaped the grips of the Triune when their temples fell under the wrath of Uldyssian and his followers.

Many question Binkles’ age; which to be honest—isn’t known with certainty. After he escaped the Triune, he made his home in the jungles of Kurast, in the Spider Forest. It seems quite ironic that the one place he would take shelter, would be in the midst of the very creatures that threatened his life. Here, he lived for a long time, in fear and paranoia.

His story then takes an interesting turn—the passing by of this strange dark wanderer had caused curiosity in the little fellow. He carefully followed this wanderer, and his companion, who referred to himself as Marius. Because of his small size, it was no difficult task to slip by unnoticed—until his curiosity nearly brought him to an early doom. Binkles was lured into the depths of The Durance of Hate—the lair of the great demon, Mephisto.

It was then revealed that Binkles the Frog was no mere creature—but an ancient Druid rumored to be an ally of the great Fiacla-Géar. This was a Shapeshifter. The Druid had survived for thousands of years, somehow unnoticed. The ancient synergies between nature and his ancestors had kept him alive and strong, and able to live in the secrecy, behind the veil of his physical form.

Upon entering Mephisto’s lair, his form was disabled, revealing his true self. His powers had been weakened after thousands of years of rest, and was captured by Mephisto’s minions. Times seemed bleak for Binkles, until a very interesting thing happened. A group of adventurers freed Binkles—perhaps unknowingly. He had been entrapped in a prison created by Mephisto, which had been opened once the demon was defeated. This turn of events allowed Binkles to make a move, and follow the heroes into the Burning Hells.

It has been twenty years since Diablo's defeat, and it is rumored that Binkles the Frog has resurfaced in Sanctuary, to face the new horror that threatens the Human race.
