Thumbs up TommyDe for the idea, one of the better ones this far!

And so many other great "stolen" ideas - I see no issue with borrowing concepts from other games... which games are not rehashes or variations of other games' systems, if you think about it (and know your history).

Hear ye, hear ye. About the same time spent here, and exactly the same number of legendaries dropped in inferno. Running with 200+ MF always... disturbingly low drop rate!

posted a message on Bias in class loot, anyone?
Hello all. This one has been bothering for quite some time.

TLDR: In your experience, do you get more class specific loot for other classes than your main class?

I have been playing a Witch Doctor for some 400 hours since launch. I've never had a properly rolled ceremonial knife above five-six hundred dps drop, and I'm "ok" with that. Loot rolls are very poor for all, but at least the loot is huge in amount to compensate. On the other hand, I've gotten tons of nicely rolled items specific to other classes.

Onward to question. What's up with so very few class-specific items dropping? Is it just that mojos and knifes drop very rarely compared to mighty weapons, wands, crossbows et cetera?

I do get why this would be implemented since it promotes trading and the auction houses, it's a clever idea. Note this is not a whine or anything, simply an observation. It's just really starting to get to me since I don't use the auction houses for progressing my gear.

Thanks for any input, very curious to hear if other classes have experience this or if maybe Blizzard has spoken on the topic at one time or another.

I think something good might come out of this IAS reduction, as Darts spec is so very dominant and boring. They nerf attack speed, but also the content (allegedly), so that might pave the way for some other builds. I, for one, would very much like to try some other spec in Act 2 and above. Phlo-phlo-phlo... i keep hearing that sound in my dreams these days, after using Splinters as main damage since level 8 (or whatever) and 150 hours onward.

I agree with the higher base damage, might become a bit more common to see shields or staffs on WD:s after the change. The main reason IAS is good for me is it makes kiting easier - if we don't have to kite as much, lessens the need fast animations.

If only there was mana regen on staffs, I'm betting Dire Bats would be the new flavor of the month. It's quite awesome with high crit and base damage.

posted a message on WD inferno butcher dps and items hunting...
I'm also not fond of the AH, and had problems with the Butcher for a while. I got past him the first time by switching to Zombie Bears and zerging him down (normally I run with Dire Bats build). Empty your mana with bears everytime he gets stuck with his weapon to the ground or after he charges. Otherwise, just keep max distance and splinter some. I think I used an ~800 dps staff the first time with crap stats, and that took me just below 3 minutes I suppose. Perhaps around 10k dps in total.

But yeah, as everyone is saying... the AH dictates the drops, you can't progress beyond A1 on your own drops. Super sad, but true.

posted a message on Can DoT ticks crit?
    Hello,

I can't seem to find any beta player that has tested or written this down - do crits occur on ticks of damage over time spells? Are the crit effects mentioned on the wiki accurate (or in place, rather) in the current beta?

    Thanks!

posted a message on DoT stacking
Yeah, it would be a terrific spell for boss fights. That's kind of the reason I'm asking, the WD doesn't have all that much in terms of single target nukes. A triple Haunt, possibly runed to shorter duration, would remedy that.

posted a message on DoT stacking
    Hi guys.

I cannot for the life of me find the mechanics behind DoT stacking, more specifically if several instances of the same DoT spell can be active on the same target. Take for example the Haunt spell, which can have three instances out simultaneously. Can all three Haunts coexist the same mob? Can multiple swarms of locust stack on the same mob, or do they replace/prolong the one that was already there?

Thanks for any insight, tried searching for too long.

posted a message on One purchase for Mac and PC?
    Hi,

Tried to search my way to an answer but couldn't find it. If you purchase D3 through Battle.net / Blizzard store, will you be able to download and play that purchase on both PC and Mac computers (not simultaneously, of course), or would you need to buy both versions separately?

    Thanks a bunch,
    Fred

...They have been saying for a month now that the Beta is a true blue Beta...

Can you source that? I have just seen over and over that it's primarily an architecture beta.
In one of the video interviews Force took of Jay Wilson, I think Jay mentions it. Not 100% though. But I do remember that Force talked about it in one of his Podcasts that it was a "real" beta. That I am 100% sure on, I just don't remember which video and I'm not fishing through all 22 of them.
Thanks for that, I'll scout it. Sounded weirdly familiar now that I thought about it...
