It's very odd that the meteor would come in from an angle like that and then dig directly downwards into the ground. I guess it could happen, but I'm not sure that I believe it wasn't intentionally weird.
Here comes the speculation:
If it was Tyrael coming from the sky (which it very well come have been), why would he hit the cathedral?
What if Tyrael planned hitting into the cathedral so that when he made a giant hole in the ground, it would be hidden? I don't know about that, but there's a small chance that is the case.
Going further, what if Tyrael was looking for something?
Okay, okay; I'll up the speculation level: What if Tyrael was looking for the black soulstone and it was hidden below the cathedral? Now that could make some great sense.
If the cathedral was hiding something of importance, or, straight-up, the black soulstone, I don't believe Tyrael would descend from the heavens all slowly and gently, walk into the cathedral, and stroll his way down deeper into it. I would imagine that Tyrael would want to haul *** down to Sanctuary and secure the black soulstone (or whatever is important) that is hidden beneath before anyone else catches on, especially if the item is that important.
And this would also explain the odd trajectory of Tyrael (most likely him). Tyrael probably didn't have time to travel to directly above the cathedral and then downwards into the ground to where he needed to go. I bet that his descension was spontaneous and rushed, so when he shot down to Sanctuary, he shot down at an angle and then directly down into the ground when he hit, thus explaining the odd change in trajectory.
All of this speculation that I've come up with seems to make perfect sense in my head, but once again, it's all purely speculation. I've read all the lore located on the Wiki site (which is fantastic, by the way) and I'm merely filling in the blanks. I wouldn't be too surprised if something along the lines of my speculation is true, but then again I wouldn't be surprised if I was full of **** and way off. Either way, I like my speculation so far.
What do you guys think? Am I reaching too far?
Well no its not because its all speculation, but Tyreal was cast out of heaven for blowing up the world stone I believe so his decision had to be rushed in where he chose to escape heaven to i.e. the cathedral where Diablo first made his entrance into the world. I also believe he is looking for something maybe a clue or something but he meant to crash into the cathedral or at least close to it.

For Corpsie when any monster is killed each player gets there own loot table that only they can see so some people might get loot where someone else may get nothing

You must have not liked D2 throne room much then because tons of whites and grays flew every where personally I never minded an over load of items gives you something to do while you are running around
It's the exact same model as D2 and it worked quite well. The new fans to the Diablo franchise just dont know where the game came from and want only super awesome gear. I'm a hoarder and I'll pick up every item that falls till my gold is maxed

A ladder system would work in nearly the same way it did in D2 at 60 they have an exp climb with no cap and that runs the ladder. Now as for the RMAH I wish they would add one for Hc which actually bums me out because 100% of my time will be invested into Hc. I mean the people that play Hc know the risk of losing there gear but they still play so what if you buy real gear you still are aware of the risk and can only blame yourself if you go and die.

As for Leah eyes we dont know when that cinematic is going to be played in the story so that may be after Diablo controls Leah so that would explain her eyes changing but that is just a guess.
Over all the cinematic was good i think it really sets the mood for act one and makes you curious as to whats going on.
