posted a message on Diablo III Currency-Based Auction House Beta Testing
Interesting they chose .15 listing and .65 successful transaction .80 a sale is quite a bit obviously this is experimental to see how many sales they make. on a 10 Beta Buck (BB) sale youd be charged 8% commision thats a lot and blizzard obviously put some thought into this number its not just random. I would love to see the market data pulled from this test since this portion of beta is clearly not for testing anything but how much to charge. So for the benefit of everyone in the community the beta testers should be trading like crazy so blizzard lowers the fees and we all win =D

I feel that .80 is too high for a transaction and must be lowered but its all speculation.

If you don't like console don't play it, but don't rant about why it's dumb. clearly there is restrictions but this will not be your problem since your not buying it. If you truly love the franchise you should be happy that console players who don't have access to gaming rigs which can handle diablo which many don't will have an opportunity to play a great game like diablo.

The only reason i think you guys are ranting is cause you think somehow console players will make you feel less elite. The argument that PC will change for console is false they will put PC before console very simply put.

**** Pretty much same idea above me posted while typing ****

This idea is just so bad, the only good that can come from Jay Wilson's idea is a gold sink and super annoying one at that. I feel like Jay came up with this idea and everyone in the blizzard team was like this is a terrible idea, but no one stepped forward cause well Jay's the boss. Anyone who has had a dumb boss before knows what it is like to have to implement your bosses dumb idea and not agree with it. I just hope they come to senses and leave it out. It contradicts so many of the philosophies they have toward this game.

You can even keep everything except the random part and its not that bad.
    1. Locks to the skill when used
    2. has random attributes discovered after locking to skill
    3. maybe even drops as grey and we have to identify it

But please NO making us lock it then find out if it was a good one or not. I don't wanna be paying a mystic 10 times to reset my runes just to get a crimson.

    2) Too many low level legendary items.

What will we use them on? If we only need 5 characters to experience the full game, and I assume these items will have a rather low droprate, who will wear them? Leveling newbies who cough up the cash a year from now? Seems strange.
Because of no special properties and many at low level it seems to me they will be pretty useless.

You'll break them down into crafting materials, which you'll need.

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/crafting-material/

Are you sure they will breakdown into the ingredients we need cause if you look at the Crafting Materials Page they are broken into each of the 4 difficulties which to me indicates that the lower level gear will only breakdown into materials for more low level gear. so if thats the case they are kind of useless. Low level gear will be useless once I have 1 of each class.

I have another concern with the breakdown of the crafting materials, I hope its like D2 and a level 2 legendary will drop in hell. I hope they dont have fixed loot tables for each difficulty with inferno being level 60 only. I dont think we have an official answer to this question but if we do let me know.

posted a message on Berzerker with Backup
The idea of this build is to take advantage of the every 9 fury generated to add another second too wrath of the berzerker. the ancients are there essentially as defense and to keep some of the aggro off you since you have almost no defense. Weapons master is on so you can use mighty weapons for an additional 1 fury per hit which will come in handy assuming you can get roughly 1 hit per second thats another 2-3 seconds depending on how long is lasts. the rest of the skills are based around getting percentage damage up and using frenzy as your primary attack. definitely could be tweaked a bit but war cry and ground stomp are there to be used immediatly after wrath of bezerker for a quick extra 10 seconds of wrath then it can be used again for another 10 seconds later.

essentially with this build wrath of the berzerker should be up about 40+ seconds if executed properly. the ancients will also be around almost all the time as long as you are on the ball.

let me know if you have any ideas to make it better

posted a message on inferno mode, end-game or filler? (att. Sixen)
    Quote from koryman101

did you even read what i wrote? i said to read the entire thing before replying, because if you did you would of read my comparison of wow "end game" and diablo, and its how diablo is made. they wouldn't say more end game to come? world of warcraft has CONSTANT updates to "end game" so that argument is completely invalid. and if your doing raids to get the best gear then your getting that gear to what... repeat that raid or the heroics OVER AND OVER, because like you said, if its already beatable, whats the point? exactly how diablo is with inferno, its exactly the same thing. your getting gear from act 1 to continue to act 2 and so on to be able to beat it easier and continue owning monsters for fun, exactly how you would repeat heroics and raids once you have the gear for fun. you haven't really made any valid points against what I've already said, please read the thread and consider the opposing points before you just post your one-side opinion, if everyone didn't consider the points of each persons argument then respond as such to each point it wouldn't be a debate, it would be a bunch of people spamming their opinion.

First learn how to write instead of using one huge block of text which no one wants to read. Second you said in the OP keep it mature you are failing to do so. Third, I am entitled to my opinion and I was supporting sixen who obviously hasn't been able to comment yet. Finally, I did read your entire thread it was mainly you just repeating your opinion and talking in circles.

Inferno will be fun for awhile, however to the original question is it end game or filler? It is filler until Blizzard releases content patches. If it wasn't filler they would add something new instead of just giving the monsters a buff. It'll be hard for awhile and then it will be easy. Then they release new stuff. Repeat.

posted a message on inferno mode, end-game or filler? (att. Sixen)
I agree with sixen, it is not end game and if it was they wouldn't say there was more end game to come. Sixens point was they didn't make end game they just made another difficulty and I believe he also said they coulda just made nightmare you reach 60 and hell flat. He is right they didn't make anything new. So essentially if you complete inferno then what are you grinding gear for? If you kill diablo on inferno then why would you need better gear he is already killable? the only true incentive at the end of inferno is to sell gear on RMAH.

I like inferno but it needs to come with some patched in content shortly after release cause once I beat inferno I have technically beat the game and there is no reason to play that character. I know they will release some new areas and content for end game. They just can't make release with those already in game.

You also need to remember video games have changed since 2000 when D2 came out back then we were happy just grinding away for the sake of grinding gear and trading. Now we have higher standards and we expect to be grinding gear so I can clear dungeon A then use Gear from Dungeon A for B and so on.

lol You're going to farming the top end of the game in 3 days of release on HC Steve? lol I want to see your HC death count in those first 3 days.

I didn't say HC that would be a ridicuous statement from me. I know I will die but I will work my way through it regardless. The death penalties are just losing durability so I don't need to worry about dying.

Apart from that I listened to the Cast last night from scyber's perspective and it really got me thinking about end game. His point made sense to me about there not really being an end game since it's just another difficulty but I played LOD at release and I still did exactly what I am planning to do with D3. There was no true end game in LOD but I played like a maniac just for the sake of getting better gear. I just like to be the best I am a completionist and I will always play until I have BiS everything.

My guess is i will be 60 and working on inferno within 72 hours of release and i will have it on farm in 1 week. We will see if im wrong but with the amount i will play i bet im right. I honestly dont think inferno will be hard for anyone good at video games. I think the content for end game not yet announced and will be released post launch is where the real challenge lies. I think infeerno is a farm fest for gear so we will be ready for these other content patches.

People shouldn't hate on force because he makes money off his channel of course he does or he wouldn't keep putting up so many videos and investing into it. I am sure he probably paid for his own flight to Cali and hotel room so he needs those $2000 in 2 days. The reason people get mad is because it's not hard to do what hes doing, I'm not saying it doesn't take time. But anyone with a decent computer, mic and recording software can do it and through it on Youtube for free. I will continue to listen because I think for the most part they do a good job, although being subcribed is annoying cause my subscription page is flooded with crappy SC2 videos which I don't like. He should really make a seperate channel for just diablo related content.

posted a message on The Great Flood
I don't think the inferno difficulty was a slip cause in the most recent newsletter blizzard that was sent out had this in it.

How are you approaching balancing the game’s overall difficulty?
Kevin Martens: When it comes down to balancing the actual numbers, there is an expected amount of damage output that players should be able to sustain based on their level and gear. There is no absolute benchmark though, as skillful players will be able to do more damage with speed, precision, and advanced attack combos, while less experienced players will generally do less damage with more straight-forward attacks. The expected damage is a starting point to balance from. Balance must be maintained for both players types, and everyone in between, which can be tricky. Ultimately, it’s going to take the game's harder difficulty modes -- Hell and Inferno -- to challenge the limits of the best Diablo III players.

So they have publicly announced the Inferno system although that's all we know. I assume it is probably the game again but from act 1 the monsters are like level 61-63 and everything is just generally harder. I also hope this difficulty introduces some new areas.

posted a message on "We're working hard to get to this year, but it's going to be tough. So it either makes this year, or it falls into next year."
Should players decide to cash out their items, a currently-unannounced third-party payment provider will handle the transaction and take a percentage of the sale. There won't be any limits on item trading, but there will be a 24-hour cooling period before players can resell a purchased item.

The 24 hour cooling period is going to piss some people off. Anyone who was planning on trying to make a quick buck by buying then turning around and selling at a profit is in trouble. This is good news for people who weren't going to do that though because now we don't have to worry about people buying stuff just to relist at a higher price

posted a message on D3 Total Playtime
    Quote from Caniroth

Jay Wilson said around 20 hours to complete normal difficulty, I believe. Let me see if I can find the quote.

    Chinese interview translation

Kane's Corner: Under normal circumstances, an ordinary player, after the normal clearance process is about how much the character level? How much time? (Provided by the forum members AvatarSwe)

Jay Wilson: It takes about 20 hours to get through the whole game, when the clearance level of about 30 people.

So, about 20 hours for normal and you get to around level 30.

I hope your right I want a 20 hour normal difficult that essentially will give me 60 hours worth of playtime just to hit 60. However, I am a little skeptical of that quote cause it says whole game, not normal difficulty. When I think of whole game I think norm NM hell not just normal. Plus this new inferno difficulty which will likely be post level 60 content.

posted a message on DiabloCast: Episode XX - Give Me Options or Give Me DEATH!
We will only know when the game comes out and is some months old, but I don't see any way people really making money comparable to a job, or even close to it.

I agree with everything you said 3rd party sites charged a premium because it was only offered by a limited number of people. RMAH will allow everyone to sell hence reducing prices. The RM economy is based on how much money is pumped in by users, less the fees and withdrawals. The Irony is as the prices drop it encourages people to put money into the game to buy items super cheap which then raises the prices again. I am excited to hear what the fees will be since they will set the pace for pricing.

Anyone else think that first level 7 rune or super legendary tier 16-18 will sell for an absurd amount of money? or is anyone going to be that person who sells it/buys it for an absurd amount of money?

posted a message on More Beta Buildup
I hope they give out tons of keys during the course of the beta so most of us get to try it out. Since Force/Sixen said that we will run out of content in like a day and probably beat the beta with all 5 classes in only a few hours. So as much I would love to play more I hope that will equate to more beta keys given out. Since everyone will run out of things to do quickly and stop playing so I can get in haha :P
