It's all good Niddro, I try not to take the game to seriously. I also do not want the godly op items dropping every time. Most of the posts here answered my question and I did as follows.

    1. Play my monk and level his paragons!
    2. Spent 120kish (MY POOR CASH FUND!!) and got up to 150mf without losing any life and like 1k dps and a tiny bit of resistances.
(I think this gets me to almost 300mf with neph buff) have to do for now.
    3. Focus on act 3, (find good route) find better gear.
4 Focus on act 1 mp 1 (can still farm at same rate I was)

Again thanks to everyone that responded. I don't mind getting harsh answer as long as they are informative. Which they did. No bs but gave me things to look at.

Thanks for all the quick posts. I know my gear is crap hence I am trying to upgrade it but again is hard when you can't find anything to sell or use. This is the feed back I was looking for.

@Rhye, lol I read that and realized what I said. I already edited and did not want to go back and fix it twice What I meant to say stormcrow is only item i have found since patch
@kalikoojack, yep gear is horribad hence the post, thanks for the guides.

Soo, I have multiple level 60s that I play. I like switching toons because it keeps the game fresh. However I am really curious as to what the heck I am doing wrong when it comes to drops. Please this is not a crying post. I am trying to find out what I can do to get better drops or make my characters better. I love the game, I like killing things. I just want to find out what I can do to try and find some more gear. I realize its luck, but this is some very crappy luck. This week I am up to 892 rares, and 0 legendary items since the patch dropped.

Please note, I have found nothing of worth since the start of this game. Any money I do make is either small stuff off the AH or what I found ingame. Since 1.05 the best thing I have found is Stormcrow. (crappy and sells cheap) Every last legendary (they are not that good) I have was bought at some low price so they really aren't that good. With my monk and barb I play on MP2. Everything else is MP1. One of the reasons I am frustrated is I see people linking cool gear or multiples and I have never seen a set drop.

Here is my profile link, tell me whatever, just trying to figure it out.

Darksouls is a incredible hard game, I only played it a little but my friends really enjoyed the learning and adapting to it.

Dishonored is a great game but i was really sad to see how short it was. It does have replay value as each mission has 3+ways you can complete it.

Darksiders 2 is a good story with fast action combat and diablo style loot. I did find the dungeons to become repetative though.

Halo 4 I am still waiting to play myself. Have you tried Borderlands 2? Another good story with lots of diablo style loot also.

Ok I need some pointers. I love this build and have no problems in act 1. However act 2 I find I am dieing a lot more then I think I should be.

Perhaps its how I am using my skills?

I have 700+ all resists, 36k life, very little loh and a 5.60 life steal weapon. Here is the link to my character.

The build is so much fun, I was having issues and switched to a WW build. NO problems but it just was not as fun. Even with the dieing its so much more fun watching things fly across the screen then walking a few screens up and there is the body! It is actually the most fun I have had on any character. I got 4 60s with good amounts of playtime on all! Great build.

    Really?

    Really?

I can't take anyone seriously who is trying to make the argument that the game is purposefully and willfully broken by its creators for the "sustainability of the AH."

You know how they create sustainability of the AH? They give you a good product. You enjoy the product and use the AH. The idea that they've somehow submarined their own game to make the AH the focal point is so goddamned ridiculous that I'm shocked you can't see how inside-out your logic is.

You're actually suggesting that Blizzard is purposefully trying to reduce its clientelle in order to get better profits from a system that relies on lots of people listing items. Can you not see how asinine that is?

So you're telling me that this loot system was not made to make the AH more viable and popular? That they did not lower the drop chances of set items and legendaries to nearly zero, made affixes almost completely random, made bosses mean nothing, with no regards to the AH? Really?
I understand that the auction is now an integral part of the game, but it simply plays too much of a part. It is not rewarding to grind gold just to buy good items for your character, and that is what is happening now pretty much all of the time. Diablo is about farming items, and feeling the rush when you finally get a great one from time to time. Or at least it used to be about it. That is satisfying, and to me, personally, this system is not nearly as much.
There are some people out there playing without the AH, yes, and hardcore was always much more fun because of the weak auction house, but the vast majority of the player base is just buying all of the items from the end of normal mode to the end game itself.
I never said Blizzard was trying to hurt the game on purpose or whatever, but it is painfully obvious they had AH in mind, and very much so, when they were working on the loot and the drop rates. And that the time you have to spend playing in order to get a good drop for your character is just too high for an ARPG game.

I think along the same lines you do. I have never found a set item, ever. I have yet to see a legendary since the new patch. My monk runs with 200%mf unbuffed. The legendary, set, legendary plans, gem plans drop rates are simply horrible. However my opinion. I had a friend come back recently, no paragon lvls no mf, killed one elite pack and got a 1200dps 599 int legendary.. Luck I understand, but I have almost 4000 more elite pack kills then him and nothing to show for it.

I don't think loot is a problem in Diablo 3. Diablo 2 had a very similar loot system and it was fine. Why do you want more loot anyway? To improve the killing speed slightly? Or for the future pvp?

People left Diablo 3 because it was extremely repetative and had a level cap. The level cap is gone, now the paragon levels give people something to strive for apart from loot. The repetition is still there though. Diablo 2 had randomly generated areas, which were also much larger than the areas in Diablo 3. Doing the exact same places of Act 3 over and over gets old very quickly.

The thing I think would restore the glory to Diablo 3 is a randomly generated, endless dungeon mode.

Have you played diablo 2? The loot system may be similar in terms of legendary, rares, blues but that is it... When you were getting a occulus in d2 you KNEW what you were getting. You werent going to get str or dex or life on hit or 900 other random stats. Nothing is worth then shelling out or getting the mats for that awesome blackbones arrows to have it roll str+int... awesome. The only class that can use it and now its useless. This is the same for every fist, bow, or class based armor or weapon in the game. This right here makes most legendaries utterly useless 90% of the time.

Another thing that is dumb with items is you need 5-6 stats to really really make it solid to godly. There is no resistance cap like in d2 (which there should be!) so everyone needs them(unless your a glass cannon and think getting one shotted is fun).

I still love the game though even though 99% of what I find is useless.

I will give it a go... I just could not figure out what was going on. In comparison to my monk which I know gets a lot more back per hit (since you guys explained it) I understand what is going on.

Would a weapon with damage converted as life be better?

Sorry if I sound like a newb (I am). My friends told me this build wouldnt work and I must prove them wrong lol.

For spectral blades and most melee specs, LoH should be better than damage converted to life unless you have a ton of dps because the health gain is reduced by 80% in inferno for life steal. Eventually life steal can outperform LoH, it just depends on your dps and which rune you use.

EDIT: I think the meteor coefficient is 0.25 for the blast and each tic. It's not bad. Also hydra coefficient is 0 for all hydras.

Yep, deepcuts helped a lot. I was having a ton of issues in act 2 because I couldn't get enough life back to keep myself alive. Meteor with starpact(reduced mana cost) helped a lot also. I just need to get some more loh while not losing anything. Tough when you rarely use the AH!

Ok so upon testing, I switched to spectral blade with deepcuts, added meteor and fire hydra. I went from 300 life back to 800 which is a lot better. Thanks folks for the replies.

Ok so I wanted to do a spectral blade wizard trying something different. Its the only thing that interest me with wizard honestly. I figured get some crit, crit damage, vit, int and loh. My problem is loh doesnt seem to be coming back when I hit?

I ask this because I have a monk decently geared with around 1000 loh, i can get more by switching when I need to. I rarely die because he gets life back so fast. Switch to my wizard who I can get around 1000loh(when i switch items around) has faster attacks per second and barely gets any life back. Did I miss something? Please help because its making farming hard past act 1 and I dont understand it.

Please understand I am not trying to be a super wizard and I have gear that I found. Just having fun with the game so I don't need people coming in saying gear sucks or putting negative comments. Just looking for some understanding. I rarely use the AH and just use gear I can find for the most part. Just how I play.
