Wow $74 for ps4 version of Diablo???

I hadn't seen any games listed on Gamestop yet that cost that much, why blizz gotta try to come out with the most expensive damn PS4 release date game!!

Actually those are just the converted prices that I did myself. On second thought I'll remove those as conversion is usually not accurate in video game sales and instead wait for the official listing of US vendors.

Blizzard Employees Can't Contact You Through D3
hey, i was in a full d3 game, i was fighting mobs in halls of agony with 2 ppl beside me attacking too when i got removed from the game. i was talking /1 general chat.
i know how the system works, i get i can be removed i swear to god if you respond with a blizzard employee would never bla bla please save your lies for a new player. a little over a week ago i reported a blizzard employee for swearing at me calling me a bunch of stuff then when i went to report it i got auto disconnected later a guy joined my group to apologize for swearing at me and stuff over oq vent.
however, this time, i got removed from d3 game which i get it. but i also got magically disconnected from the game right after being removed from the game.
NOW, few days ago i was playing for a long time to level my paragon level they kept screwing with the monster power while i was in game. i had joined a mp7 game, every fight was like fighting something way harder than mp10 which is totally ridiculous.

if you guys want me to setup my sony camera to record every instance im talking about because i know when i run camtasia or fraps to record stuff they quit screwing with me.
I'll be locking the thread up here.

@ Zød: your previous report to us that was made 13 days ago concerned general harassment. I see no indication that Blizzard was in contact with you previous to that - except in response to other reports you've previously sent in.

Although Game Masters are unable to chat with you or otherwise interact with you in Diablo III or StarCraft II - they are able to open up a separate chat window in WoW. When they do that, a blue 'Blizz' tag will appear in front of their name. Only characters with this Blizz tag are official Blizzard representatives. If anyone else ever purports to be a representative of Blizzard who does not have this tag, they should be reported immediately.

If you do have any issues with the performance of your game, or connection - you're welcome to use our support portal to get in contact with us for further assistance. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

    The Nephalem Valor Icon
For anyone who never noticed, the Nephalem Valor icon is actually a picture of a dead dinosaur with a sword going through his neck. A closer look reveals that some of his scales are morphing into gold. You can actually find the larger icon at the bottom of the link below.

As a connoisseur of all things dinosaur, I can assure you that the Nephalem Valor icon you mentioned is actually a very dead Treasure Goblin with loot spilling out of his bag.

To be entirely fair, I hadn't actually stopped to consider the Nephalem Valor icon very carefully until you mentioned it, so it seems like a fun little Diablo III fact to me. Thanks for bringing it up! :) (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

    Key Details on Console Gameplay
The CMs are generously sharing information about the console version of D3 today. They've given key information on how the process of going through menus in co-op is optimized as well as a way to basically revive your Hardcore hero after dying in the console version.

Originally Posted by Blizzard (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

You'll be able to identify if an item is an upgrade or not, equip it if you want to, and even drop recently acquired items for your group without ever stopping the action. (Blue Tracker/ Official Forums)

The correct answer was already given here, but it’s always good to hear it from a blue ;)

A Battle.net account is not required to play Diablo III on a console. The Diablo III console version is a separate game, so you won’t be able to play the characters that you’ve created previously on your PC. You can use the PlayStation Network to play or chat with your friends online! (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

How does this work with playing on hardcore? Can I save my character on a USB before each playsession and then reload him if I happen to die?
This can be done, but it should be noted that all of the heroes are stored together with the profile, so all of your characters on the console would be overwritten with the USB version. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

If I level all 5 characters to level 60 can my friends choose any of my heroes to play as alongside of me. I do not have anyone that will be playing with me most of the time I play so it would be nice if they could use my leveled characters so we can play endgame together.
The answer to this question depends on the console you're playing on. You could do this on the PS3, but the Xbox 360 requires each player to use a separate profile with its own characters. There are some additional details about local coop that you might be interested in (like achievements, saving heroes, and cloud storage), so I'll quote a post from Vaeflare to share some of those details.

How guests can play with you on same screen co-op varies between the console systems.
On the PlayStation 3, additional players will have access to any saves that any User on the system has; however, only the primary User can unlock trophies during single-system co-op.

On the Xbox 360, if additional players logs in on other profiles, they are able to load their own heroes from their own save files. They can also bring their profile and Diablo III save on a memory unit or memory stick and load it at their friend’s house, or alternatively, they can bring their save file and recover their profile from Xbox LIVE (both Silver and Gold tier accounts can do this). If the player is an Xbox LIVE Gold Tier member and they choose to use Cloud Saving from Microsoft, they can also recover both their profile and their save at their friend’s house. It's important to note that only Gold Tier members can play online with other players over Xbox LIVE, however, Silver and Gold Tier members can play locally and recover profiles.

If additional Xbox 360 players log in on a guest profiles, they cannot load their own heroes from save files. If they log in on a guest profile, they will need to create a new hero and when they quit out of the game, their hero will not be saved.

On the Xbox 360 version, each profile that is playing together can unlock achievements.

    Updates on RMAH SMS Issues
The good news on the issues with SMS arriving too late when trying to authenticate a RMAH posting is that Blizzard's teams are now able to recreate the problem in many different ways in order to understand it better. The bad news is that they still can't get to concrete results because the service is strongly dependant on external providers all over the world.

Hi Temper - I'm curious, are you able to receive codes for when you try to remove the SMS and when you put it back on? Although it may not be a fix, this may tell us something more about the issue if you can get the code for when you try to remove it from Battle.net, but not for the AH transactions. Please let me know!

To try to remove it, log into your account - and press 'account' at the top. Then, on the main account screen you will see the security options. Press on the indication for SMS protect there and then follow the appropriate steps.

Although I will not be here for much longer this evening, please be aware that we are going to keep our eyes on this thread and will be sure to post any updates as we are able. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Hi all, thanks for continuing to update the thread. We are continuing to monitor the situation: So far, it's been happening infrequently and across various regional accounts (using different carriers).

To those affected by this, we thank you for your continued patience! Please know that we will continue to try and figure out why some players are not receiving these codes, and/or are being re-prompted to enter them.

I will be here throughout the day and will be sure to offer any updates that I receive. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

The challenge with this is that the SMS system is dependent on external providers, and that can make these types of issues a bit more challenging to get resolved expediently. I've just updated our internal ticket about the issue letting our teams know that this thread continues to be updated.

I will continue to drop in and provide updates for as long as I see the reports. As soon as I know of anything more, you can be sure I'll communicate that here. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Jason Bender on Creating the Console Version
D3's Lead Designer Jason Bender wrote a blogpost on Playstation's official blog about the process of creating the console version of the game. What was taken in consideration, what had the priority and many more developers' thoughts can be seen in the article. You can see a part of it below.

Dmitriy "Tamplier" Prozorov's Epic Blizzard Fan Art

Originally Posted by Blizzard (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

During March and April of last year, hundreds of these talented artists also submitted entries for the Diablo III Portrait of a Champion art contest, and a select few were chosen as winners. We wanted to catch-up with one of the contest winners, whose Blizzard fan art has continued to thrill and astound on a regular basis.

This player spotlight showcases the work of artist Dmitriy "Tamplier" Prozorov and his diverse Blizzard fan art.

Tamplier’s body of work includes portraits of characters from the early era of Warcraft's history through to pieces depicting heroes and villians from the worlds of both Starcraft and Diablo. He's produced nearly fourty pieces of Blizzard fan art over the years, and we caught up with him to find out more about he and his art.

    Q. How long have you been making art?
Back in the kindergarten I found that drawing is very interesting for me, and later in school, I started to distinguish myself from other pupils in the arts. Most recently in 2010, I felt that I had mastered my digital art skills. My first artwork began to appear at the same time. It all started with copies [of other art]. I could only look at the masterpieces previously and wonder how it was possible to create such pieces. So I had to train a lot before I could start to draw my own art. After that I started to put my artwork on the Internet.

    Q. You've created some extremely impressive Blizzard fan art over the years! Which pieces have been the most challenging for you?
I suppose it was my artwork called “Opposition”. I specialize in the portrait drawing in general, but one of my goals here was to come up not only with a character but with the whole scene. I wanted to show the atmosphere and dynamics of this artwork. I also used to work with dark paints, but here I decided to step away of standards and tried to create a bright piece. It took me a lot of effort to achieve the result I wanted to see in the end.

    Q. Which is your favorite piece?
It’s very hard to say. When I finish the piece, it becomes my favourite one almost every time. (And of course there are some rare exceptions). So that’s how it is right now. The piece that I value the most at the moment is my recent drawing “Maiev Shadowsong”. I consistently improve my skills with each and every single art work I do, so I’m pretty sure that as soon as I finish another drawing, it will become my next favorite.

    Q. You were also one of the winners of our Diablo III Portrait of a Champion art contest. What inspired you to create your Barbarian piece and how long did it take you?
Yes… I have a special memories related to this piece. I suppose I’ve never spend so much efforts to create a piece as I did with “Victorious”. I had to start working on that art about a month before the deadline when contestants’ could submit their works. I remember I even had to ask my clients to wait with the completion of their requests. I explained that I’m entering a very important contest and all of them were cheering for me, saying that this kind of things is very important and wishing me good luck.
I couldn’t find the idea of the art for a long time. I’ve tried a lot different ideas and in the end I decided that it would be a barbarian. It took me around two weeks to finish that contest piece, but when I saw other contestants’ drawings and realized how many other great artists have participated in that contest, I had to polish my artwork even more.

    Q. How long does it generally take for you to create your art from start to finish?
It depends. Sometimes it could be one hour and sometimes it could be a month! But in general I usually finish the art within a week.
It also depends on how much I love what I want to draw and on my workload. If I remember correctly, the fastest piece was made within 2 hours and the longest one took me around 2 months. The pieces are getting harder each time and consuming more and more time.

    Q. What programs do you use to create your art?
From the beginning I always used Adobe Photoshop CS3; I think it’s optimal for me. I also tried some other graphical editors but I didn’t like them. However, some of my pieces were made in SAI – it has its own advantages.

    Q. What is your artistic process for a piece?
I have to come up with the idea on what I want to draw first. If that didn’t happen there is an 80% chance that the whole work will fail. Many times I had to forcibly push myself to draw something and nothing good happened in the end. Previously I also had to come up with a concept of the piece by drawing some sketches on the paper before I could start the process.
But now it’s different. I do everything in the program from the beginning and change the idea on-the-go if I don’t like something. Initially I almost never have the final idea in my head and I personally don’t know what result will be there in the end.
But that’s completely another story if I want to make a Making-of Video. Here I need to plan everything ahead, because all the viewers will see each step of the process, they will also try to learn something for themselves. So there shouldn’t be any failures.

    Q. We know that a lot of time and love goes into creating epic fan art, so what’s your favorite detail of one of your pieces?
Yeeeees! I really love working closely on small details and reflections! I love to draw metal; it gives me some special pleasure. But working closely on small details is also very time-consuming. I like to play with light and shadows. It’s awesome to see how the whole piece changing, becomes alive and look more 3D after you add some light effects to it.

    Q. What other artists inspire you?
I was always impressed by Wei Wang! He was and still is one of the most influential artists for me. When I first started to learn the ropes of the graphical art I found his works very inspirational. I also respect the works of Andree Wallin, Daarken, David Rapoza and Cryptcrawler and consistently follow their art. I hope to try to achieve what they have in time, and maybe even become better than they are.

    Q. Do you have any other Diablo-themed pieces in the works?
I currently don’t have any. But that doesn’t mean that I won’t start in near future! The inspiration comes unexpected: today I don’t plan anything and tomorrow I can start and finish a piece.
I have plenty of ideas and I certainly will continue to draw more Diablo-themed and other Blizzard related pieces.

    Q. What tips and advice do you have for aspiring artists out there, particularly those that are just getting started?
There is a lot of information on the Internet nowadays and using it you could significantly improve your skills. Remember one important thing – it’s your skill that matters. People often ask me “which pen tablet is the best?” or “which Photoshop version is handier and what brushes should I use?”
On the early stages start with simple things and do not try to race for the technologies and fancy things. And when you start to improve your skill you will see for yourself what's better for you.
Believe in yourself and your strength! If you have any friends that are professional designers or artists, try to listen to their advice. Practice, improve your skills and do not pay attention to those who don’t like your pieces.

You can see more of Tamplier's impressive body of work on his DeviantART gallery. Which are your favorite pieces that he's created? What other Blizzard characters would you love to see him illustrate? Let us know in the comments below!

Are you working on any Blizzard fan art? We'd love to see it over in our Community Creations forum!

Dealing With Suspensions and RMAH Authentication
Along with the constant 'surprise-suspensions', in the last few days there are a lot of complaints about the SMS authentications for the RMAH. Here are a couple discussions that throw some light on the procedures used for resolving such issues.

is useless. stop telling me to report there.
esp when they stopped replying to any and all emails I send them

I reply in the matter I receive.
If they give me an automated response I'll give an automated response in kind.......
It is only polite. Don't you think?

    Hi Ellis,

For the record: you won't get an automated responses from that mailbox - we do have moderators whose responsibility it is to review those appeals and inquiries on a daily basis. Although it can take us some time to go through, we definitely try to review those appeals expediently. That being said, many of our responses may take the form of copied responses (at least for the general format).

We do understand that we can make mistakes too, so if you ever feel we've made an error, just let us know there and we'll do our best to get the issue looked at as quickly as possible. Thanks! (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Just got locked out of rmah -_-
Changed phone number, and it ask for SMS authentication to sell.
To change the SMS authenticator, you need access to the old phone number.

I contacted them, they ask for email, secret answer and I stopped them there...
Seriously? giving our secret answer to a tech support guy?
    Hi Arden,

All of our CS is authorized to assist you with account verification. Another way of looking at it is that the lines which separate Tech Support and the Game Masters may not in all cases be as clear as some might believe. There's a good number of us who are crossed-trained and whereas at one point in the day we may be assisting with technical issues, later on we may engage with in-game tickets (Game Master issues).

Rest assured that we're all on the same page, and if we ask you for your information it's only to make sure we are dealing with the appropriate account holder. Please let us know if you do have any CS issues that you still would like us to work out!

I hope that clears that up a bit :) (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

If you decide to give them a go then be sure to be careful with using banners to teleport to comrades, and keep an eye out for the "in combat" icons for your party. Possible Solutions for Latency in Oceania
It is possible for Blizzard to implement a service like Battleping or Smoothping? The cost for this shouldn't be much at all. Or even implement it as part of the D3 client.
This is something I will relay back. Usually we would never recommend a third party service within a product though. Oceania servers are not off the table, but it also isn't a quick fix. Will know more details early next year.

Will we ever see servers situated more towards Australia and New Zealand? To be honest 200 ping just doesn't cut it for D3, especially when you're a CMWW wizard like me. The latest CC changes have made it so that the 200ms latency reduces the time I have to reset my freeze's cooldown by half, making my job harder than it should be. I'm not saying that the game is unplayable though. It would just be nice to have that little latency advantage that Americans and Europeans have.
The straight up answer is that we are still going through tech details to see if this is viable. We have made changes to improve latency that from the feedback we have had on this forum has helped for some. When I have a update I'll be posting it here for sure. D3's Not Smooth on Overclocked Systems
I'm sorry but under no circumstances can we support running the game on non-standard clock speeds.

Of course you're welcome to tweak your hardware however you like, but our games may not run successfully on tweaked systems.

If you experience issues, we can only recommend going back to stock speeds. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Recently Bought Items Should Go Straight to the Stash
    1) How many times or how many people buy something and DON'T want it in there stash box right away...
    2) How many times have you bought something, started a game, run to stash or crafter, curse, leave game, back to AH, send to stash, and start game AGAIN...

You're not the only one who has loaded up a game to grab a recently bought item, only to immediately leave so it can be sent to the stash. I do that every so often, and I'll ask about it at our next meeting with the developers. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Let Blizzard Know Of Any RMAH SMS Issues
The problem with RMAH's SMS verification that was reported yesterday turns out to be a pretty common one. But it brought something good to the community - now is the time to let Blizzard know of any SMS issues you have - whether you can't connect your phone to Battle.net or the messages don't come fast enough when trying to post items on the RMAH, at the moment the Community Managers are listening closely.

Okay, thanks for your patience, Pockey - we're still looking into this. For anyone else who may have experienced a similar issue, please feel free to update us here as to whether or not you started receiving the codes, or if the SMS started behaving differently.

    Thanks!

    @MissCheetah: Avatar incoming :)

Thanks for the update Sÿlak, I continue to see these reports popping up and hope to have an update here before too long.

Edit: For those of you who are still experiencing this, please let us know your carrier and which region you are in. Thank you!

    Thanks Closure!

As of 7p PDT our systems administrators have been unable to replicate this or verify that this is due to an issue on our side of things. Although I do have less reports today than I did yesterday, I do still see reports coming in. As such, we're going to continue to keep close watch on the thread - if I have any other information to provide I will, and in the interim if anything changes on your side of things, please update us.

    Thank you!

    Quote from Catalept

I really wish they'd do a 'WTF are we actually up to' post, because they're basically been saying "We're overhauling items, skills and the interactions between them, as well as seriously changing other other aspects of the game" for ages, and I don't know if that means they've got the most uber-awesome superpatch on the way, or just working on a "yeah, we're changing all the numbers, and that's about it... but the expansion is going to great! kekekeke" pile of underwhelming bleh.

I want to come up to the lab.
And see what's on the slab.

I'm sure they'll show us when they have something interesting to show. When everything is still on paper and only has a few hundred lines of code/proto-art attached to it you don't really have anything useful to show.

Reminder: Exclusive Fansite Console Info From Blizzard HQ

Blizzard Working Hard on 'Loot 2.0'
Instead of the elusive Patch 1.0.9 Blizzard is concentrating on a lot of new D3 content in different forms, among which is 'loot 2.0' and some changes that 'will greatly impact many areas of the game, including core gameplay elements'. More information is promised to be coming... Soon™.

Originally Posted by Blizzard (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

That's good news. They should Take their time and come up with something really great.
Whether or not this is good news is in the eye of the beholder, as some are obviously not too happy about having to wait longer than they expected to get new and improved content.

It is important to emphasize though, that patch 1.0.8 is not the last and final update to the game! In fact we are working hard on new and improved content for Diablo III, including loot 2.0, and I can assure you that you guys will get more detailed information about these things we are working on as development continues.

I know we have been saying this a lot lately, but the changes we are working on will greatly impact many areas of the game, including core gameplay elements, and we have to work meticulously and carefully to get things right because we want to be absolutely sure that they live up to your expectations :-)

Do you have an ETA (ballpark figure is fine)? 3 months, 6 months, a year...
I do not I'm afraid. Providing ETAs has always been quite difficult for us due to our iterative development process... this is also one of the reason why we say Soon™ so often.

ETA of the blog then? :)
That will not be possible I think because I am not yet entirely sure that we will be ready to share detailed information on all the things that is being worked on at the same time. Some information will most likely be available sooner than other information, so I can imagine that there will be more than just one blog. Also, the developers would like to do more Q&A sessions and talks about the game on various Diablo community sites in a similar manner to what we recently saw in Archon the Wizard's stream.

All I can say for now is to keep an eye on our blog pages on a regular basis :-)

    Code of Conduct Clarifications
A member of the Official Forums demanded an explanation on a few points of the Code of Conduct and Goroxxiggam took the job very seriously as is evident from the long post you can read below.

When a forum account is penalized it should receive a note that is visible during the suspension period. When you log into the forum account you'll be informed that the account is suspended/banned. If you click the Learn More option you should see any related notes to that action. This usually includes details on the action taken, sometimes quoting the offending post and how long the suspension is for.

    1) One will NOT be penalized or CoC enforcement will be slow, if one creates posts/threads that are inflammatory, peppered with discriminatory remarks, and/or littered with personal attacks, with the expressed intent to cause trouble, derail topics, and start flame wars.
No, reported posts are processed mostly in the order they are received though depending on the volume of those reports we have, a report may take awhile to get to.

    2) One will be censored or penalized rather swiftly if one creates posts/threads that might strongly criticize and/or may cause doubt/uncertainty/distrust toward Blizzard (the company), its products, or its business practices.
We, members of the Moderation Team, primarily respond to reports submit through the forum reporting option. However, we also may spot check random forums, keeping an eye out for threads that may stand out as in need of moderation. Members of Community may also actively moderate threads while they are reviewing active posts.

For example, I made a thread titled "New Self-found ONLY server Please" and it was deleted.
This one? On the EU forum?
    http://eu.battle.net...opic/7714092228
Or this one, that quotes the entire post and links to the EU forum?
    http://us.battle.net...opic/9377488104
If you had another one, I wasn't able to immediately find it but I'd say it would have been deleted as spam at that point.

Also, as noted, you can't compare moderation of your own thread to moderation of other threads, especially on the weekends! It all depends on if others report the posts/threads and if there are any mods at work. Weekends do have moderation, but it can be very sporadic.
Well said, MissCheetah. As noted we do have moderation on the weekends, but currently that coverage may be lighter than during the week. Obviously it may may take a bit longer to get to a report but each report submit to us is reviewed for possible Code of Conduct/Forum Guideline violations.

Forum mods need only to lock the thread.
In some situations we may, but most often in the case of duplicate threads or when there are already multiple threads on the same subject we may opt to simply remove the thread.

As noted if you wish to inquire about the moderation of a particular thread you'll need to write the us, however, the wowreportpost@blizzard.com email is primarily for the Warcraft forums. It will still work but Diablo III and StarCraft II forums should go to forum@blizzard.com.

Exclusive Fansite Console Info From Blizzard HQ
We have some new information from the Fansite Mixer we posted about yesterday. This time there is a lot of new stuff about the Console version of Diablo 3. Some of it quite interesting.

    Development
    • Development of the PC and Console version of the game split close to PC launch
    • There were radical changes to the code in order for the game to translate properly to Console
    • Battle.net had to be completely ripped out of the game and replaced with Xbox Live and PSN integrations
    • The first pass for the Console translation was implementing everything that existed in Diablo 3 on day 1. Since then the team has been hard at work making Diablo 3 a good Console game. All the PC patches were implemented over time
    • Diablo 3 runs at full 60 FPS during most of the game. The exception being when, for example, "4 Witch Doctors all play Zombie Dog builds and constantly explode them"
    Gameplay
    • Crafted items now tailor their stats more to the class that has crafted them. Developers feel this is one of the more important changes coming to Consoles
    • White and Blue items drop far less
    • Artisan upgrades cost less gold
    • Vendors are much more likely to sell Rare gear
    • Class items are far more likely to drop for the class being played
    • Some monsters have had their health and damage adjusted for Console. For example the Withermoth's damage has been increased by 500%, as you only get to meet a few of them during the entire game
    Itemization
    • The itemization changes on Console are not what we're going to see in the future itemization patch. Instead they've been what the Console team came up with to streamline the flow of items
    • The 5-6 fansite attendees at Blizzard HQ managed to find a total of 3-4 items Legendary items on Act 1 Nightmare in one hour
    Offline
    • Initially the Console version was also supposed to be online-only, but Blizzard's research showed a huge part of the Console population didn't have an Internet connection
    • There are anti-dupe mechanisms in place, but Blizzard knows they'll eventually be overcome
    • There are some concerns about Trading in the Console version, because of the lack of Auction House
    Interface
    • Not a single part of the PC interface was kept. All is changed
    • When looting items icons appear that compare the loot you got to what you have equipped. Instead of showing the full numbers like the PC version, the Console icons simply point out if the item is better or not in terms of Life/DPS/Protection
    • You can still view a full comparison between the items in your inventory, where all stats are compared
    Coop
    • When you play with a friend on the same screen if you move too far away from your coop partner you'll yank him towards yourself in a pretty intuitive manner. This helps a lot with AFK players
    • You can play on a single screen or online with up to 3 other players and also do a combination of both
