Don't wanna drive it too far off topic, but it's pretty amazing, if you get the time, wikipedia "Voice actors" sometime. You are gonna crap your pants when you realize the same guy voiced every character from your childhood!

As for D3, I can't say I'm overly impressed with the voice acting thus far. Eastern Bloc accent on the monk(my char of choice) and the COMPLETELY annoying templar voice make me want to punch an orphan

posted a message on Is there going to be resource steal?
Having a blanket "resource steal" monster similar to the mana steal monsters of D2 seems like it wouldn't work well. The resources are all gained in different ways. Stealing arcane power would be nearly worthless because of it's high regen rate, but could be crippling to a witch doctor. Since the resource systems are completely independant of one another, and how we regain the resource is dependant on in game mechanics and select skill choices I doubt we'll see it on any monster.

As for the player having it, a lot of rune effects or passives involve resource managment. I kinda like the direction they're going with it :)

posted a message on Did you get a BETA key? and when?
You guys know it's like months till release, right? I mean, the beta just technically started. They might keep those first measly 100 invites as the only active ones for a week, then add another 100 before they start really upping the numbers. I just don't want to see any wasteful injuries of your precious F5 fingers @.@

posted a message on Does the skill planner give away all of the rune effects?
I dunno, I think when I first saw the skill calculator, I was kinda "meh" thinking there weren't many skills per class...I guess I didn't realize right away that the runes will literally change how you play. In D2, I was partial to sorceress, and while you can choose your element, and the spells have different effects, your playstyle was generally the same(stay at range, teleport and static field when necessary). When I realized how many different wizards you could make here just by altering the runes on the same six skills I 0.0 'd.

Which is why I think people are baffled at this post, he seems to be arguing the opposite

posted a message on Does the skill planner give away all of the rune effects?
    I don't get it @.@

The entire reason the rune system is in place is to create different skill combos that you can use...one rune might add slow, so that another runed skill which has reduced speed, but higher damage can hit well. These runes might not do much more than change the skills look on the outside, but when used together drastically change how you would play your character compared to another character, who might use a completely different set of runes, or even a completely different set of skills. You are arguing witch doctor, how can you not see the TONS of different playstyles made possible by different runes?

I think the reason you aren't getting the answers you want out of people is it looks like to us you are unable to see past the outer obviousness of each skill and into the many possible play combinations they open up. If you can't see the nearly hundreds of playstyles you've just been given, you can't expect others to agree with your lack of creativity or ingenuity.

So, one of the things we've all noticed is the Monk is clearly a more defensive character. I plan on playing with some friends, so I decided to go with this one.

I really like all of the rune effects that stack +% damage taken by enemies and +% damage done by allies...I think it's a very powerful side of monk that might not get a lot of attention at first. Being the guy that buffs the team might not seem like the most glorious role, but it might be important in team play nonetheless

posted a message on Difference in class skills
Well I have noticed that as well, and a streamer told me he felt the monk was underpowered in the beta, but really, it might just be that the monk works best when all of his skills are in tandem with each other. The same could be said about other classes as well, but with a limited view it's hard to say whether it's bad or not. I have no doubt in my mind that blizzard special tailored the content available in the beta based on what they already knew was done and what needed work. Maybe some monk or other skills need more looking at before they're comfortable with release. We are all looking at this beta under a microscope, kinda intimidating from blizzard's point of view, yeh?

posted a message on A major hesitation I have about rolling monk.
Hmm, I think it would be wonderful to see a kind of 'humbling' of the monk's gear. It could start a little over the top, and heavy, then as the monk learns to accept his inner peace and humility slowly get more and more basic. In my personal opinion, nothing would be cooler than my monk wearing only Taoist style robes completely owning a barbarian who looks like he's wearing an entire armory on his shoulders.

posted a message on I really don't care.
I think you're lumping all the people who are unhappy into one group. Yes there's a lot of complaining, and it's because there's a lot of people upset/angry over these changes. Should they sit back, not give blizzard their opinions, and hope they read our minds? I agree with you that it's going to be a good game, but to me there are some aspects of the RMAH(yeah sorry, I went there) that just are disappointing. As a player, I am forced to think about the game through a financial filter while I play. Every item that drops means I will have to check it's real money value, because if I miss something big, I'm an idiot. I have no doubt we'll see an addon soon similar to WoW's auctioneer so I can just see it's $$$ value while I play. Should I give this great mage staff to my good friend, or take $10 off my rent? These decisions are not ones I want to make while playing a game, especially one we've all been waiting so long to play. I'm not forced to use this system, but it's impossible for me to ignore it.
