    Because after you've played WoW long enough you realize that gear actually doesn't matter since it gets invalidated every expansion and even content patch. Cosmetics are forever and also typically require an actual achievement to get (are difficult)

    Good video (short version). A lot of these most people don't know and it's very helpful to spread the word. I knew all of them personally but I didn't actually realize the cursed shrine shortcut until just recently, so I almost caught that one even with my experience.

    I'm gonna try my best to NOT derail this into a mortality issue, but please show a little more credit and appreciation towards THUD's author. What that program does is not easy at all and requires a lot of dedication and man hours. Shouting "YES IM SO GLAD HE FAILED HAHAHA!" is very disrespectful to someone's work, regardless of the morality of that work.

    Only damage reduction % really matters. Get armor and resist to 75%+ and they stop doing anything. Gotta start stacking those aquila cuirass, unity, parthans, etc

    If there's gonna be any Diablo news, it'll be the 2nd expansion. If there is going to be a second expansion, it will include:


    -New monsters

    -New Items

    -New areas

    -Powercreep features


    But it won't change the game from what it is, if that's what you're still hoping for after 4 years. D3 is not an MMO.

    the whole hype and QA bullshit of the necro is a waste of time. It just comes down to which set does the most damage and may as well remove the other 80% of the necro's skills from the game. I haven't even looked at the necro skills, I have no idea what the class does, and yet I'll just go to the set notes and see "increases X damage by 1600%". great, now I know how to play the fucking class.

    On a side note, this is really only noticeable on the Barbarian. The other classes don't exhibit such moon-physics. It's not like they fly backwards across the screen when you hit them with an arrow.

    I believe item randomization has improved greatly. Even base item types are random (damage and durability). I'm a little uncomfortable with legendaries having so many random properties that they resemble rares. A unique is supposed to give the impression that you know what it's going to do, just not how good it's going to do it. This was a great feature of D2 where you know, for example, that Griffon's Eye was great for boosting lightning damage. But just having one wasn't enough, you wanted to get one that was as good as possible which creates an internal submarket for every single item like this one. I won't complain yet as I haven't had experience with a lot of legendaries yet, but seeing how random Griswold's Edge has been is a little disconcerting. If one can be COMPLETELY different from another Griswold's Edge, why is it a legendary and not a rare?

    On the flip side, I feel terrain randomization is lacking compared to D2. In D2, I felt truly lost and didn't recognize Underground_Room1A_WithShelf hardly at all. But repeating sections of an area stand out like a sore thumb in Diablo 3 that it loses the immersiveness and reminds you "oh hey, I'm playing a randomly generated game dungeon". This was a major issue for me personally with WoW where just about every "Cave" looked the same on the inside.

    EDIT: Also, just for peoples' general knowledge and comparison I counted the number of monsters in the D2 Bestiary and there's about 73 all up, from Act 1-5 (without including Bosses, omitting doubles e.g with Fallan/Carver/Dark One only fallen is included in the count). I don't know if the 100 monsters they're talking about incorporating are all original but if so then :xD:

    I'd be very pleased if Diablo III launches with MORE monsters than Diablo II + Lord of Destruction combined. :D

    I was going to go with default, until I thought about how the game encourages you to be picking everything up, which may be why the blue post's preference was the toggle. See it, pick it up. Keep it toggled on to ensure you don't miss anything. I'll be trying both default and toggle. Also, one of the first things I plan on doing is remapped either the loot key or the minimap key, because in Diablo II I can tell you for certain that ALT and TAB aren't exactly the best two keys to press, especially at the same time, in heated combat =]
