Except when you then get your frostburns... just change your build. It's not like in D2 where changing your skills either required game editors or starting again.

Say you want to play a Frost build, but end up going Fire because you get some nice fire gear... but then nice Frost gear drops... Then play the frost build you wanted, it takes all of 30 seconds to swap your abilities around.

Pretty much this. Waiting for the gear that makes a build possible isn't that big a deal when changing spec takes less than a minute.

Ya, it sucks that you can't make your pet-based WD right out of the box and you have to go out and find the gear to do it. But on the other hand, won't it be a worthwhile thing to work toward?

As long as actually finding the items without having to resort to trading is viable.

I agree completely. Motivation to achieve something is the best way to keep the game entertaining and definitely contribute to its longevity. Having the desire to play with a certain build will keep me coming back to find those specific items that will allow me to maximise the efficiency of that particular build. Another benefit, is that fact that I could potentially find some unusual drops that define a new build I could use that I would have never really thought of initially. Essentially, as long as the drops are interesting and consistent, it should keep you playing.

posted a message on Development and Delays
I'm sorry OP, but you clearly don't understand one vital and significant reason for all the complaining all the time. The reason is that Blizzard is always misleading us. Everything they have said about the games development has been wrong on almost all occasions. They never give us a clear answer. If they don't know something, why do they always pretend they do and end up being wrong, they should just stfu and give us an clear and concise answer to the development process when they are 100% sure themselves instead of lying to us all the freaking time! This is what makes this long wait soo much more unbearable.

Can't you see guys. Its so obvious. Blizzard is trying to get the world record for longest development of a game ever! This way they could probably make a little more money... because remember what comes first for Blizzard.

But in reality, this does indeed suck! "Sooner than we expect" my arse!!! When we all had that little bit of hope left that Blizzard could maybe just be trusted for once, they shit on our faces like they always do... yet we struggle and we continue trying to maintain that little bit of hope we all hold, for we hang on every lie they tell us believing that it just might be true this time, even after the thousandth time of being mislead. It is a sad day when companies can get away with crapping on their fans again and again knowing that everyone will forget about it when the game is finally released. =(

Playing Diablo 3 for the first time would be like me playing any game for the first time: Slowly and independently, exploring everything I can.

I can swear to you now - it will take me 4+ hours to just get through the beta for my first run-through. =)

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Blizzard wanting to make money. Its just the way they make it.

    - Separating Starcraft 2 into 3 different games instead of 1
    - Using the excuse of shady 3rd person websites for the RMAH (which btw I am a fan of) instead of plainly saying that they want to generate a consistent income from D3
    - Using D3 as a means of making money on WoW and not admitting it.

Like you said, if Blizzard took an honest and clear approach to the way they say these things, there will be a lot less complaining. =)
Are you 100% positive of that statement :P I mean, from what I've learned about human beings in my short life, I feel it would be exactly the opposite, with a ton of comparisons to D2 and to how "Activision corrupted Blizzard".

That may be, but honesty has a greater chance of gaining a positive response than being subtle about responses to questions and/or accusations like these ones. =)

Really, I'm indifferent about how Blizzard approaches there fan-base and market strategies, as long as I get the game I want. =)

Its just I would have more trust and faith in Blizzard rather than question everything new they let out as an instinctive reaction.

You got to admit... this is a bit of a fail on Sam's part.

"We don't care about money... its all for our fans."
I will agree, that is kind of a fail. I mean I'm sure and do believe to an extent that they genuinely enjoy satisfying their fans, maybe because it makes the fans happy, but ALSO because satisfied customers are returning customers. He should have just been up front. Of course, we're a company, we're going to do these things to make money, it's what keeps this business going and making games for the fans.

I just don't see why people see anything wrong in promotions like these. They seem pretty standard to me. What's wrong with Blizzard making money? LOL I wonder sometimes if people expect that this company can run without money...

posted a message on Let's Talk Expansions. =)
So, this is a topic primarily for fun and joy and happiness.

I want to know what you guys would like to see in any expansions of Diablo 3. It could be the first expansion, second expansion, one hundredth expansion or all of them together. =)

    I'll start:

In first expansion of Diablo 3 I would love -

    1. New act (bigger than any previous act)

    2. New class or 2

    3. Seeing as Blizzard want Diablo to be the last boss, it can be that he managed to survive in Act 4, acquires more powers and ends up at the end of Act 5. =)

    4. Increased max level (possibly level 80) with more skills! =)

    5. Additional changes to the first 4 acts; change their aesthetics and story here and there, to make them renewed in a way that would make people really want to play through them again even though it would have probably been done over a hundred times before the next expansion. I want the expansion to bring a real living dynamic feel with it, giving the world of Sanctuary new life in the new act and old ones (change in environments, new monsters, new npcs, new areas, new mini bosses, potentially a new big boss - all in the first 4 acts).

    Your turn. =)

posted a message on Fixed the girly barb
    Quote from Bahamut185

Ok so I was looking through some images and I came across the "nude" fem barb. I looked at her in sections trying to figure out why she was so unattractive when I noticed her proportions were off slightly so i took a crack a shooping her to pretty her up, here are the results.

Shes not going to win any beauty contests but I wouldn't mind receiving "death by snoo snoo" anymore
Not sure if it was on purpose or not but her breasts shouldn't have been that far down

Edit: I might have made them a smidge bigger as well but whos counting

Now this post is all kinds of sexist. What your implying is that since this character isn't "attractive" in the modern sense that she needs to be "fixed up". That is utter BS... so whenever you see an ugly girl in life you immediately judge her for being not good enough. This is oppressing women to being that they all have to be hot, thin and basically like super-models to receive any recognition.

The point is, this female bard is NOT meant to look good... she is suppose to suit her environment, so by being a barbarian, her look is doing that nicely. You don't get hot looking girls fighting the demons of hell - you've watched to many movies.

(Sorry if this was not your intention, but you really need to think before you post this kind of garbage.)
