Ah yeah, that's a valid point. He does only say 'beyond', not 'higher', so it could just be sort of parallel and not necessarily above.

Lets see how long I can keep it up this time, aye.

PS. I'm studying film at uni at the moment. Films are illusions.

posted a message on Ornel Vul Tsol (my shortfilm!)
Okay, here's the one minute experimental film that I made! (I already showed you my friend's one the other day).

Watch it in HQ, and turn it up loud. Its more respectful to the filmmaker that way :P

The main character in this is actually meant to be my avatar character (though slightly different). If I were to go to Blizzcon, thats what I would wear.

This was my major assessment for this semester at uni. Even though it is one minute long, it took a lot of effort to make! My focus was on creating a good visual design, including set and costumes. I mostly achieved what I was aiming for, though a lot of detail was missed. For instance, Lenore's dress actually has like a cool feathered sash down one front-side, but you can't see it at all. And that fountain thing in the middle of the table is actually a working blood-fountain, but again you can't see it.

    Inspired by The Raven:

Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing,
Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before
But the silence was unbroken, and the darkness gave no token,
And the only word there spoken was the whispered word, `Lenore!'
This I whispered, and an echo murmured back the word, `Lenore!'
    Merely this and nothing more.

BLACKWING! What kind of deal have you and Mephisto's Lament been plotting? Wanting to get a draw or something? No creating extra accounts for extra votes. I see what you're up to :P

I knew someone would do that though lol. I was thinking just before that I bet someone would do it, and I decided that when the winners are announced I would check all the voters to make sure they are all legit.

donteven, iamtheoriginal, ithinkiambetter are all created by Blackwing. So Mephisto should have three less votes.

Damn, you would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for us meddling kids!

posted a message on Map of Sanctuary (Complete)
Here is my very own fan-made map of Sanctuary that includes most of the locations that we have ever heard about in the Diablo series (manuals and novels included). I designed it myself using Solomir's cartography.

Its about 6 x A4 pieces big. It was originally drawn up from the DII manual's map, but then just after it was nearly finished Blizzard released their own updated map. So of course I then had to go back and fix my map to reflect the current state of Sanctuary with the Worldstone's destruction and everything. But that is also why the shape of the map is a little different. But don't blame me, blame those inaccurate scribes at Blizzard :P.

And as more information gets released (like when the game finally comes out), I'll continue to update the map accordingly.

posted a message on Fans Can Expect Multiple Diablo 3 Expansions
Woo, we could get like a Xiansai expansion (where the Wizard is from, with an Asian theme), a Skovos Isles expansion (Amazon homeland, maybe even a way to play the Amazon class), a Scosglen expansion (ditto for Druids), etc. More expansions could give us opportunities to explore these places in Sanctuary that we probably won't get to explore in the first version of DIII. I would love that. I'm certainly not worried about the story getting boring, I'm more worried about having too much of the lore being left out of the games.

posted a message on Φ Diablo III Artwork Trailer Images Here
These are all the images from the artwork trailer. I took screenshots of them all for easy reference. They are roughly in order, but not exact. Well, okay, its not every single image because I did skip a few of the unimportant ones (like ones that we have already seen before).

I don't know who he is but he looks so cool.

Note that this guy follows straight after the first one, so they may both be monsters (because at first I thought it may have been a mage class).

De Soto?? Tradesman? Some kind of royalty? He's clearly very rich.

Aren't these red flowers the type of flowers that blossom after a war is fought? Edit: They are called poppies!

Ureh, Kingdom of Shadow!! Oh come on, you know I'm right :P

posted a message on Classes problematic and war between Good and Evil
Yeah, sonic's version of Diablo is a little distorted. Take your stereotypes and throw them out the window.

    Diablo II:
Paladins fight for Heaven, of course.

Barbarians, Druids, Necromancers and Amazons all fight for Sanctuary. Necromancers are definitely NOT dark, and neither are Druids. I have no clue where you got the impression that Druids are evil.

    Amazon:
"Amazons regard the destruction of the Three Prime Evils as their destiny, ushering in a new era when mortal men and women can at long last take their rightful place in the universe, no longer merely playthings for the beings of the Outer Realms."
    Barbarian:
Legend says that when the world was very young the tribes of the Northern Steppes were given a sacred charge. Somewhere deep within the great mountain, Arreat, lies a source of great power, crucial to the well being of all humanity. The tribes were tasked to act as guardians of this artifact. They have shaped their way of life in observance of this power and fulfilling their sacred duty.
    Druid:
They have done this because they believe themselves to be the world's last line of defense when the time of the great conflict comes, a time they believe is at hand. Lashing out in fury at the recent insurgence of denizens of the Burning Hells, and at the Leathdhiabhala, demonic corruptions of the very creatures they have vowed to defend, the Druids have, at last, emerged from their forests, marching toward their final stand against the minions of Chaos.
    Necromancer:
Although their art is considered "dark," and the people of the outside world shun the priests who practice these arts, these mysterious cultists never suffered the epidemic of corruption that plagued the ancient Mage Clans. Pragmatists in the truest sense, they are above temptation. They see death merely as a natural part of life and do not seek to deny its arrival. Their singular knowledge of the unknown allows them to face death without fear. These ideals, coupled with an understanding of the natural balance between Order and Chaos, explain why they have not fallen prey to the influences of evil.

Their desire to uphold this balance has brought the Necromancers forth from the isolation of their remote, dank homeland to destroy Diablo and his brethren. For the mere presence of these Prime Evils on the mortal realm upsets the natural symmetry of not only the mortal realm, but also the Great Cycle of Being, itself. The followers of Rathma seek to right the balance by ridding the mortal realms of non-mortal intervention altogether. They resent any force that would treat humans as pawns in a cosmic game, though they are apparently willing to ally with the forces of Order but only until such time as the balance is restored.
Assassins fight against corruption, but not for Heaven.
Legends of their stalwart vigilance, and the widespread fear of their retribution, have kept many mages away from the temptations of corruption, so actual sightings have been rare. However, with the reemergence of the Three, and the subsequent increase in demonic manifestations in the world, the Order has shown a greater public presence of late.
Sorceresses fight for a test of their own power and knowledge.
The Zann Esu oracles have decreed that the time of the Emergence is at hand. The destruction of the Prime Evils is to be the great test of their clan.
    Diablo I:
Warrior fights for himself (or for treasure)
"Whether they are driven by valor, honor, madness or greed, new Warriors arrive in Tristram every day, ready to challenge the dark unknown that awaits them beneath the earth."
Sorcerer fights for knowledge of demons and the rare books rumoured to be found in Tristram's Monastery.
"The Vizjerei, known for their brightly colored turinash -or spirit-robes- have taken a keen interest in both gathering knowledge of demons and seeing them slain. The Vizjerei elders hope that their acolytes will learn the secrets of the dark evil that they sense growing in the West and can destroy it. The possibility of discovering long-lost tomes of magical knowledge within the confines of the labyrinth have also captured the interest of many wandering Sorcerers."
Rogue fights against evil for a test of her strength.
"The strange events transpiring in Khanduras have caught the attention of many of these Rogues. They have come from as far as the Eastern dunes to test their skills against the dark evil that is said to be lurking in Tristram. It is also believed that untold riches wait to be discovered among the ruins of the Horadrim monastery."

posted a message on Φ Diablo Books Chronological Order
This is the chronological order of all the Diablo novels.

What is important to note is that they do not have to be read in this order. The only books that depend on previous books are the Sin War trilogy (which should be read in order) and the Kingdom of Shadow and Moon of the Spider, of which KoS should be read first and MotS should be read second. All other books can be read in any order without having any detriemental effect on the plot or story or spoiling anything.

    1. The Sin War: Birthright
    2. The Sin War: Scales of the Serpent
    3. The Sin War: The Veiled Prophet
    4. Demonsbane
    5. The Black Road / Diablo I
    6. Legacy of Blood / Diablo II
    7. The Kingdom of Shadow / Diablo II
    8. Moon of the Spider
The Sin War happens 3000 years before the darkening of Tristram (Diablo I). Each book is in direct relation to each other.

Demonsbane happens 600 years before the Horadrim capture the Prime Evils and therefore before the Dark Exile. (The Horadrim capture the Prime Evils a long time before the darkening of Tristram in Diablo I).

The Black Road story expands over a year. Kabraxis is unleashed at some point at the beginning of the book, and over a year later (at the end of the book) is defeated. Towards the end of that year's gap it is stated that Tristram was recently destroyed by Diablo. It is also stated by Deckard Cain that Tristram was corrupted for nearly four years. So Tristram fell before Kabraxis was released, but the actual Diablo I game where Tristram is 'saved' happens in the middle of this novel, before Kabraxis is defeated.

    Legacy of Blood
is parallel with or slightly before Diablo II and involves the , ends with Diablo (the Wanderer) entering AranochArcane Sanctuary. Which means it happens just before the Diablo II hero enters Lut Gholein or while the hero is still at the Rogue Encampment, depending on the time gap following the Wanderer.

The Kingdom of Shadow happens before the Moon of the Spider but no mention of the Worldstone, so it is assumed that this book also takes place before it is destroyed (whereas MotS specifically mentions the destruction of the Worldstone). Zayl traveled from Ureh to Westmarch and would have likely to have had to pass through the Rogue Monastary (apparently the only path to Westmarch if traveling through the twin seas, which Zayl likely would have done). With Andariel and many other demons out and about during DII, and no mention of a hazardous journey to Westmarch, it is unlikely that he was traveling during the events of Diablo II, but was actually in Ureh at the time. Its more likely that Zayl left Ureh to travel to Westmarch after Diablo II, which means that The Kingdom of Shadow must have happened parallel to Diablo II and the destruction of the Worldstone.

Moon of the Spider takes place after the Worldstone is destroyed in Diablo II. It also talks about Zayl's past in the city of Ureh, placing this book as a direct sequel to The Kingdom of Shadow (no time gap is given, however).
