posted a message on Map of Sanctuary (Complete)
No, its not a DII map, as it does actually include the Dreadlands, Xiansai, the extra Amazon island and all the details given in the new DIII map. The shape is based off the DII map yes, but it was adapted fully to include everything given in the DIII map. The only difference is that it's shaped slightly different and the rivers are in slightly different places. But how does a slight shape difference impact its value? It's not like you're going to be using it to go hiking or anything.

posted a message on What powers do you think Azmodan and Belial will have ?
Their powers were still somewhat fitting.

Andariel, the Maiden of Anguish: kills you using poison. How much more agonising can you get than a slow and painful death?

Duriel, the Prince of Pain: has a cold aura that cannot be blocked. What's more painful that ice that is so cold it burns and reaches you right through to the bone. Hmm, though it is kind of odd because it would be so cold it numbs your senses, making you not even feel pain. Perhaps and aura of fire would have been better, to burn your skin off. But fire is a bit too cliche.

Mephisto, the Lord of Hatred: 'hatred' can lash out at you in pretty much any form. Same with 'destruction' and 'terror', really. I guess thats why they are considered brothers.

Man I wish I had an SLR. I'm trying to save up for one, cause I really want one, but I just can't really afford it at the moment.

Kudos to your massive lense. Doesn't it make the camera really unbalanced?

Its interesting that you like traditional cameras rather than digital ones. They say that film is a waste of money and you can't get instant feedback. But yeah, I know what you mean by digital feeling really cheap and incomplete. I think I'm gonna get a digital SLR though, because getting the film developed would be too much effort for me.

Ah yeah, I suppose people like the clear cut black and white imagery because it makes it easy for them to make decisions. No complicated moral thinking involved.

Haha, thanks Jet, I'll look into those movies. And yeah, Battlestar is definitely a complicated one.

Xmen is another movie like that too. Magneto isn't necessisarily evil, he just has different values and beliefs. Though I guess he is really prejudice against non mutants.

posted a message on Good vs Evil
Why is everything always good vs evil? Why do we always get presented with a so-called perfectly good hero, and he always just so happens to have a perfectly evil double? What is with people's obsessions with polar opposites? Why do so many people think in black and white?

What does it even mean to be good? Its obviously a matter of perspective.

Okay, I know this is a really weird example, but I assume you all have heard of AdventureQuest. In it, there is this paladin known as Artix. He's a 'good guy', that also has some evil double somewhere apparently. Evil? Why? I'm pretty sure the 'good' Artix is the evil one. He goes around and kills all undead creatures without a second thought, no matter if they are doing anyone harm or if they plead for their life or anything. He's completely blinded by prejudice - he's the evil one!

This happens in so many games and movies and stories. It's always "ooh lets create this really heroic good guy", then "ooh now lets create his polar opposite and give him horns and scales!" It's such an overused, romanticised fantasy, I'm so sick of it.

There is no such thing as good vs evil, the world is so much more complicated than that. What you think is right, isn't necessarily what everyone else thinks is right. Therefore 'good' and 'evil' are purely forms of perspective, not to mention the fact that noone is purely one or the other.

Of course, Diablo doesn't do this. Diablo supports neutrality ^_^

I thought Azmodan was just the lord of sins in general. Like you can hate someone without committing a sin against them. But I guess you can't really terrorise them, or destroy them, or lie to them, or cause them to suffer pain or anguish without committing a sin. He's pretty generalised.

posted a message on Moon of the Spider, the Fiery-Winged Archangel, and D3 (Some spoilers)
Ah yes, very interesting read, thanks. This does put more light on the angel with fiery wings and whether he's an enemy or not. It does seem that he is friendly... though its hard to tell with angels anyway. So many possible alterior motives. And in the years since MotS, this angel could have changed anyway. He could have somehow found a reason to destroy Sanctuary later on. Who knows.. its all too vague.

posted a message on Nephalem and their origin
I don't think it was a war, just a mass murder. I'm not sure on specific numbers, but somehow I had the impression that there was about 20 angels and demons on Sanctuary, and Lilith murdered them all. I could be wrong though. Just kind of a small group that left Heaven and Hell?

And yeah, there are other offspring other than offspring from Lilith/Inarius. I had the impression that Rathma was Lilith/Inarius' only offspring, while Esu is someone else's, Bul-Kathos is someone else's offspring again, etc. I always thought that was the reason each Nephalem has different powers, because they have different parents and therefore different combinations of angelic and demonic powers. But again I could be wrong.

posted a message on Diablo III Map Randomization Expounded
What a great news post Seth! Much more interesting than simply reading what Bashiok has to say. I am liking where they are going with this, because I enjoy both artistic and interesting levels as well as randomisation. I like not knowing exactly which corner to turn to get to the exit every time, especially when my character supposedly hasn't been there before.

And that's it. I'm too tired to continue, so I'll just give you that. Note that the final panel is a new, unseen person speaking. Sorry about not having anything last week too, I'm getting increasingly busier.

    PS. Critiques are welcome.
