I do have knockback thanks to a nice pair of hit power gloves, and I'm at 95% IAS currently, so Strafe does a good job of keeping things away from her. When she does get killed it's almost always because I ventured too far too fast. All of my other characters so far are rather tanky, so I just forget to change how I play sometimes.
As for whether or not I actually need more AR, I'm not sure. Her current AR total is a little over 5600, which generally shows that she has about a 70% chance to hit early Act V monsters, but like I said, the Magic Arrow bonus doesn't display on the character sheet so I'm unable to see her actual chance to hit.
I'm wondering what my goal should be for a couple of her stats, namely attack rating and health. I can't judge what her actual chance to hit is because she's using an upped Witchwild String which automatically fires level 20 Magic Arrow, thus increasing my final attack rating without showing it on the character sheet, so when I see my shots fail to connect for a bit & then suddenly start hitting I don't know if it's because of the Dodge/Avoid/Evade bug (I do use Strafe a fair bit) or if I'm actually having trouble hitting. As for her health, she has about 850 hp at 77 and her gear is pretty much finished so this won't increase without devoting stat points to it. She's softcore, so it's not a big deal if she falls over once in a while & it's rare that I'm caught by monsters, but on the rare occasion that they do catch up to her they tend to take her down extra fast. Is that perhaps just part of being a bowazon?
The OP asked for something with mechanics similar to something in D3. I've made a reasonable case for that & you've disproved nothing about any of the similarities.
What about a summonmancer? The witch doctor is a hybrid of the D2 assassin & necromancer if I'm not mistaken so the playing the necro would be comparable, and having a wall of minions to hide behind would be pretty safe.
If you mean skill level, no. It scales linearly, so each extra point adds the same value as the previous. If you mean difficulty or experience level, I'd say no there as well. Fanaticism will always grant you more damage than Might or Concentration. Fanaticism also grants you attack speed & attack rating, which neither of the other two will do for you.
The only caveat is that in a large enough party of physical damage dealers, you might be better off with Concentration since it grants everyone the same damage modifier, whereas Fanaticism benefits you a lot more than it does your party.
You only have one in hell mode since your character was made before patch 1.13. All characters made before patch 1.13 were given one free respec in hell mode, and that's it. You can not get the respec in nightmare & normal.
Next line of business, is the new Respec system. By completing the Den of Evil quest, you will receive a Stat/Skill respec in addition to Skill point, per difficulty. Already existing characters will receive a free Respec in the Hell difficulty, as noted in the 1.13 patch notes.
So apparently it doesn't matter when they finished the quest, only when the character was created. Since your character is pre-patch 1.13, you'll only get one free respec in Hell.

Edit: "Finally, only those party members within 2 screens of the monster death receive experience." source

"...deemed the successor of the Necromancer..."
Skull of Flame = Fire Blast
Mass Confusion = Mind Blast/Confuse
Horrify = Terror
Wall of Zombies = Wall of Bone
Firebats = Wake of Fire (both conal fire AoEs)
Gargantuan ("It summons a large zombie minion similar to the Necromancer's summon golem spell.") = any necro golem
Sacrifice = Corpse Explosion/Death Sentry
Summon Zombie Charger/Dog = Raise Skeleton/Revive
Granted the similarities to the assassin aren't as strong as the similarities to the necro, but I stand by my comparison.

Note that even spells with a physical damage component such a druid wind spells won't benefit from it since they're still spells.

Much obliged, Rez.

Got a link for a source so I can check for updates on my own?
I'm really hoping they hold off just a bit longer on the reset since I still have laddery things to do (mostly getting runewords made).

Edit: Actually, let me check on that some more.
