I like the 10 sec option. I think that's pretty neat. You can just grab something real quick while fighting and not have to wait for everything to die to hit alt and see the items that dropped. The only thing that would be bad with it is if it appears over the monsters around you. Say you're fighting 5 at once and one dies but the item name is over the one you're currently fighting and you're inventory is full. Then the grey chest piece just flips up and down in the air over and over while you try to click an enemy to fight them, but instead you keep clicking the item. Ophion suggested earlier maybe a 2 sec limit and I agree that would be neater because it takes you a tenth of a second to read what it is and whether or not you want to pick it up. I will for sure use it when I'm max level and farming for stuff though so I'm glad it is an option.

That is neat....I really like the first option where it shows for 10 sec and then you can pick it up. Especially if combined with the 10 second thing so that you don't have to worry about where you click. Very neat idea.

I fear that would make for fast, twitchy animations. In a game like Diablo where you're constantly mowing through creatures, there's hardly a time you'd want you weapons at your side. More freedom isn't always better. I'd hate to see montages of people lowing, and raising certain weapons to make it look like their character is doing something inappropriate..

    good point....I retract my statement!

I think you should look "relaxed" unless you've selected a monster that you're going to attack. I like the option of sheathing or having weapons out tied to a button...kind of like z on WoW.

You can also download it from the Torchlight website. You won't have the Steam program in the background either. (Big plus for me, plus 100% of the proceeds go to the developers when you buy directly from the developers.)

Cool I will check that out for sure too...if I ever get to leave work lol.

Just download it from steam. I think it's even on sale or at least it was a bit ago.

Thanks! I will do that...quick and easy!

There's even a free demo (can't beat that).

    Hi everyone,

I noticed some of you have made some comments on Torchlight being somewhat comparable to Diablo. I'm sure I won't get a beta key or anything like that for DIII and was looking for a game to play until then. I watched the torchlight trailer and thought it looked okay...worth spending a few bucks on. However, when I was looking on Amazon for it I found the two links below:

    Torchlight Hybrid JC

    Torchlight

Obviously the hybrid JC one is much less, but is it not really the game? I tried to google the difference between the two...couldn't find anything. Also just tried to look up reviews of the hybrid JC and couldn't find anything describing that at all. Really confused on this and would appreciate any help anyone has with this issue. Thanks!

Most survivable would have to be a stam stacked barb...but a pally is the only one I got to 99 and I don't remember dying too much. The most fun to play imo is the necro and assassin...I like summoning stuff (druid has many pets as well) and as for the assassin....I just like the style with the charges. It pretty much lead me straight to the rogue in WoW.

If anything a 5-10 minute cooldown on a townportal spell would be perfectly fine.

I think you should just not be able to teleport back in combat. That would fix everything that was apparently wrong with townportals in Diablo II without introducing awkward game mechanics.

But then again, with a cooldown on potions and health orbs as the primary healing source there would not be a reason to remove spammable tps anyway.

As long as you couldn't run out of combat either...cause you can just run backwards until you lose aggro then make a TP
I assumed bosses would just heal up if you left combat.

!!!!? Infinite tp usage takes away from blizzards original thought of making people worry about health. If you use a tp after each battle, you could go to town to heal up easily. Its dumb, forget infinite usage.
I'm sure Blizzard will find a balance between losing health and getting health orbs so that when you finish a fight you should be mostly healed up. This game can't be this hard that you are sitting on the edge of your seat looking for ways to heal yourself. They just wanted to not let people abuse the constant going back to town to buy a new row of health potions.

Pots are on a cooldown for sure though, so that kind of keeps the health spamming to a minimum as well.

Or a time tome of town portal that can only be used once every hour of real time or 30 min of game logged time...something like that.

    I personally don't like the timed (cool-down) idea... :(

    too much like WoW? =D

Or a timed cooldown "tome of town portal" that can only be used once every hour of real time or 30 min of game logged time...something like that. That way you wouldn't have to find any, but it would be limited on when you can use it. Also you can make it so only you can go out through it...but everyone can go in through it...that way you don't just have a chain of them with your group.
