Limitless physical strength with absolutely no increased durability. The first time you sneeze... game over man.

(Though I guess even just the first time you breathed in or your heart beat, it'd be about the same results.)

The last panel was definitely the high point, as well it should be, I suppose. Curse you, guy who thought pillar was cool, but thank you everyone else on the dev team who told him it wasn't. Ah.. the creative process.

I really hope that the skill UI is not the final form of it. While I am OK with them changing the runes from being items to being basically sub-skills, the UI really is horrendous. It's not so much that it ruins the game, or even has a big impact on it most of the time, it's just that the old UI was vastly better, cleaner, and less confusing.. I don't really see how this could possibly be the UI for release. (I dreadfully mention... this looks a lot more like a console UI for skills...)

posted a message on How much of Act 1 is the beta?
All we know for certain is that the Skeleton King is not an act boss, just a boss of an area. We also know that therefore it is some fraction of Act 1, where as Blizzard has suggested it's about 1/3 of it. Until the game is done though, there's no way to tell for sure how much of it we are seeing. As far as later acts and difficulties go, we also only really know that they said they 'think' the game is about the same length as Diablo 2. Luck with gear drops will likely also significantly effect the speed at which people finish the game their first time playing through it, as is the nature of this kind of game.

posted a message on How hard is hard, really?
The biggest problem with this, and any multiplayer game, is that when they make something really challenging for the best players (a small minority of players) the vast majority of people think it is much too hard. As a result, they either make it too easy for a small percentage of people or too hard for almost everyone, though since they don't think almost anyone will play past normal... I'm not sure it should be an issue if it's too hard for the people that never get there to begin with. We'll just have to see. No one except the people doing internal testing know what Inferno is actually like.

I'm honestly a little baffled by this. Does anyone actually think any of the female models are 'attractive'? I mean, they are really low quality models as far as games these days go for the express purpose that you're almost never going to see them close up to begin with. I don't think any of them look good in game. Especially the faces.

posted a message on Patch 13 Demon Hunter - still under powered?
    Quote from Snaks42

Every time our toons are wiped I always level the DH first. With the exception of the first iteration of beta where there were no hatred generators, the DH has never felt under powered to me.

Before the DH class rework, everyone including Blizzard thought that the class was too weak. Afterwards, as recently as patch 12, Blizzard still agreed with sentiments that the class felt weak.

On the other hand, if a class feels weak in a small part of the first act is, as others have clearly explained, not important in the grand scheme of things. One class will almost always feel the weakest in the first few levels just because if they are different, then they won't all be exactly in line with one another.

The class that feels weakest at level 1 could very will be the class that turns out to be the strongest at level 60, so while we can learn a few things from the beta, class balance really isn't one of the things.

    Quote from Roger

I think that there may be some problems with the new desgin such as low-level games becoming incredibly scarce in comparison to high-level ones, people stop playing just after leveling each character once to max level and sudden change of all characters in one class to the most overpowered build in the current patch (and re-changing after new patch).

If any of the numbers that have been released are accurate, the vast majority of people that play Diablo 3 will never get even a single character to max level, or even play the game past normal difficulty. If this is the case, there is really no type of character development that will effect the average player in the way you're describing. Yes, maybe the small percent of people that buy the game and play it over and over at max level (I believe this was less than 10%?) may find that remaking characters is not as exciting, but their whole idea with this game is to make lots of things to do at max level other than just grind bosses.

    Quote from LinkX

Okay, now then, MoP and D3 releases will have no connection. (If anything, they will release MoP beta, then D3, but that part is speculation on my part.)

I think that the only connection they will have is that they won't be released extremely close together, since that would be bad from a business sense. I'd guess one would come out Q2 and one Q4, but it's all just guesses since they still have told us almost nothing as far as dates.

As far as I can tell, all your followers get XP even if you are not using them and then stop one level below you.

Edit: They stop at the same level as you.

posted a message on [Official] Release Date Speculation Thread
A number of people have been targeting the GDC also because of the fact that there are two panels there from Blizzard talking about Diablo 3 development in past tense. The only thing about this is that they are both art panels, so in that sense the vast majority of the art has likely been finished for some time now. It's unlikely that the art development is ever still going on close to release of a major title like this.

That said, I'd really like to know what is going on with even just the information about runes and skills that was supposed to be released according to Bashiok. I'm hopeful for the game actually being ready soon, but I think the longer it goes without them releasing that news, the later in Q2 it looks like they're going to make it.

That might have been good if Skyrim wasn't such an ugly game.

Can't tell if trolling or just blind.

The models and textures were lower quality so it could release the same on the PC and consoles. So in that regard, it was ugly. That's why they had to release a free high quality texture pack. IE the quality of textures that should have been in at release.

He still could have been trolling though.
