Use of the AH isn't necessary. You can go to the Trade forum and get items direct from other players if you want. Or you can just find upgrades yourself - it's just going to take longer. It would be very poor judgment to not include all factors when balancing drop percentages. (Blue Tracker/ Official Forums)
Since level 18 I've NEVER dropped a single rare useful item for my character. Now I'm level 39 (playing Nightmare) and the only thing I have to do is buying items in the AH. I thought korean games were "broken" in the drop rate, but this game reminds me of the useless time I've spent in those kind of games (like doing over 500 times an istance to get that particular drop, this is the same since nothing I got was useful to me). For example, Diablo at the end of the Normal campaign, dropped me 4 rare items, 2 relics for my companions, and 2 that were not for my class (and with so crappy stats that were impossibile to even sell them in the AH).
I'm starting to not enjoy the game anymore: why is the game relying ONLY or MOSTLY on the AH? Where is the satisfaction of getting your own drop?
I've 2 toons (act2 inferno and act3 inferno) and i've never bought anything out of the AH (yea, i had to farm for a while act1 with my monk, a problem that i didnt have with my DH).
So, yea, its just bad luck on your part, the only use i've for the AH at the moment, is to sell gear.

I got the greed's using only the puzzle as well.. no need for "any other item".

ps: One thing i noticed last night, my wife ran out of mats on our low lvl toon and the AH was just perfect for that, so maybe it'l be missed for those small things..

I've an ammy that gives me 11k hp and 0.4% protection but i lose 15k dps, that sometimes i use on mp9-10.
On my skill set, im using a diff set to play mp9-10, with combination strike + EP and so on.
One of my main problems with this monk is that i don't know what to upgrade first, i don't have that much gold (im at 200kkish).

Again, i'm on the fence, there are times where i miss the D2 trading style and times where i think AH is the right thing but badly executed.

We tried some lower mp a couple days ago and we had 2-3 runs without a single legendaries, so yea, its annoying.

I see, i appreciate all the advice, like wheunis said, maybe is just a matter of adjustment.
To be honest i'm happy with the way its working right now, its just that a lot of people kept saying "you can't run mp10 with that weap so don't waste your time and go DW", at first i didnt care that much but with time i was thinking "yea, maybe they're right about this".

I see, maybe i was just following the wrong advice ... gonna try to upgrade some other pieces, a better rare ring just for mp9-10 among other things.

Kyoob, TR + Bell is fun and the best way for a monk to farm XP for sure, problem is, i got bored of XP farm, so anything mp5 and below i just have no fun at all,
BTAG is zehd#1504 , still offline (at least for me).
