Thanks for compiling all this information Phrozen,
Here is my score
5/5 Easy
2/5 Medium
0/5 Hard
0/1 Master
That was much harder than I expected. ( read the first book about a couple months ago, and I am working on the 3rd one now, while reading Archive at the same time )

Real cool. I was actually wondering about this today.
I got to Hell difficulty for the first time today, and I was wondering... Is this the end? I hope not! (don't get me wrong it is hard as is)
I always wondered why there were all these special pandemonium and uber bosses in D2. (never got there though)
Great news to hear! It is also good that they are making all areas of equal level once your reach that inferno difficulty, it should be more fun that way.

P.S: Now I understand why Blizz Replied "ORLY" when someone mistaked D3's accessibility for easiness. -

Jun 13, 2011ZTZaorish posted a message on Sanctuary Speculation: ImperiusDisclaimer: Although I have not read the Diablo books, (As I am not in the U.S currently and have not been able to get my hands on a book yet.) I have tried to keep up with a majority of the posts about Lore and Lore discussion.Posted in: News
I also believe Lore may at times lead to too much speculation and not enough core ideas about what the producers may think is good for the game. (but don't get me wrong, I love Lore)
First of all,
Great article!
Second,
I would like to discuss when we will see Imperius.
I am going to assume that the boss from the D3 cinematic is going to be last boss in D3. Since Blizz always seems to show last bosses in their cinematics. (D1,D1 Hellfire, D2, D2 expansion)
I am also going to assume that Imperius is way to cool/powerful to be an earlier boss.
This leads me to believe that Imperius will be a final boss in an expansion of D3, probably the first.
Why?
What else would make me want to buy the expansion more than having the ability to fight a badass angel boss being included?
...
Well... nothing really.
For some reason I feel that if they included fighting angels in the basic game, then they would not being able to introduce it as a "new" idea in the subsequent expansion.
Please let me know what you think.

But,
I still find it strange for a caster to be wielding an axe though. hehe. (Is it strange to think that different classes should have different weapons? @.@)
I am guessing that eventually they will limit people to using items for their own class, eventually.
Why?
No good reason really. Just a hunch.

Why would you post this in French?
Translation:
A class based on a pet seems a little less probable to me. Blizz has been clear on this point. They do not want us to micro-manage units/pets. This is what a pet-oriented class would like like if it were to be made. If they made a class like that it would be uninteresting anyways because that class would not be able to micro-manage pets.

The point of HC is that dead means dead, so I can't agree with this.
That is why I play softcore, I don't want to deal with that permanent loss.

Most of us have seen endless videos of Leoric being beaten at lower levels right? (I have just heard about it)
We all know Leoric will be tougher at higher levels of difficulty, but how will he be tougher?
This thread will attempt to theorycraft about the new abilities / stats boost that they will give King Leoric at nightmare, Hell, and Inferno difficulties.
Nobody wants Leoric to be a wuss in Inferno... right?
What I need from you: A brief description of Leorics abilities in normal. (I am not in the BETA myself and have chosen to keep from watching videos to keep things new)
My theory:
Nightmare: A significant boost in stats.(in comparison to the increase in stats a player receives by the time he reaches Leoric in Nightmare, he feels like he hits harder then he use to, and takes longer to take down ) (no new abilities)
Hell: Another somewhat significant stat boost.(in comparison to the increase in stats a player receives by the time he reaches Leoric in Hell) Maybe some sort of a charge ability, or hamstring. (If it isn't already in BETA)
Inferno: A major Stat boost. (in comparison to the increase in stats a player receives by the time he reaches Leoric in Inferno) A strong mortal strike type ability that hits a player for about 50-75 % of a players heath.
Let me know what you think!

Especially if they added a extra new scene or image to the cinematic to get us more excited.
I personally refuse to look at the datamined D3 data to enjoy the story. So I am not currently aware of what will happen.

Well, as many others have said: "Ahhh! Fresh Meat!"
Another good moment:
Realizing I couldn't hurt the Warlord of Blood with Magic. (Using a sorcerer)
A final good moment: When I was 23, remember, this was in 2011. I was playing through the catacombs and the music was creeping me out more and more. Eventually I hear those strange voices, and I literally turn around and freak out a little bit. I just couldn't handle the heat.
Never got the same scare in D2.(Even if it is awesome )

2. Bosses and mobs with new abilities at every difficulty level
3. More books spawned by D3
4. A low video setting that won't fry my crappy laptop. (wait, should this be #1?)
5. More Demons Mini-bosses (Butcher-->The Smith --> The Baker?:miniD: )

A couple interesting points brought up by other players that caught my attention:
1.Gear > Level (I have to agree with this after getting a barb to hell)
2. Blizzard has to be able to make the game easy enough at the beginning for people to want play it and not just get roflstomped.
3. The normal game should not be a cake walk or the whole story will just be finished in a day and the "newness" factor will be mostly gone.
That being said I think the important point is "How early should the difficulty ramp up?".
I have not played the beta, and I won't try to speculate anything. As long as this boss poses a little bit of a challenge. (like blood raven perhaps) I will be content.
Additionally I hope there are still at least some minor challenges along the way through normal to keep players on their toes at least a little bit.
I leave it to Blizz.

P.S: Gonna love D3

I am sure you will do a fine Job. (Your name sounds like a French cartoon character of some sort)
I hope you enjoy the community here is much as I do.

First, you should make sure to search for a topic before making a post about it.
I have the same topic posted here:

Hehe, yeah sorry about that. When I discussing I always want to explain things in detail.
What you mean is: They will not raise the level cap. They will just add new inferno gear tiers? hm... interesting...
1. I can't say I agree with you, because I can't see Blizz being that lazy. (I believe they will add regular and inferno gear)
2. Additionaly people will need to clear Act 5(Hell difficulty), and for that they will need better gear. (because Act 5 should be harder than act 4)
3. Also I feel it would be strange for people who are decked out in Inferno gear to clear act 5 in Hell mode, and have it be a walk in the park. (This is just my personal belief on what Blizz would consider would be the most fun, having to beat act 5 in Hell, and then making it to inferno would take up more time, and it would be fun I think)
I guess we will have to see what happens heh?
Thanks for the contribution willimye.

I just listened to the latest podcast, and it got me thinking... (prepare for a long read)
As some of you may know there were 18 tiers of armor announced before Inferno was announced.
Let's assume for simplicity's sake that inferno will have a new couple tiers, 19 and 20. (I will refer to these as inferno1, and inferno2)
Now let's assume the first expansion is coming out.
This expansion will obviously include new tiers of gear for act 5 Hell. (we can all agree on this right?)
So, the expansion maybe has 2 to 4 new tiers of gear.
We suddenly have this new 5th that fits between every difficulty level.
This causes two questions to come up.
Will they use the old inferno gear to help fill in the tiers? (My guess is no)
Reasons:
1. This would outrage many people.
2. It would de-value the inferno gear greatly.
What is my speculation?
-The 5th act of normal will have a mix of gear that from Act 4 Normal, and Act1 Nightmare.
-Basically, drop rates for items will lie somewhere in Between Act4 Normal and Act1 Nightmare.
I am not aware of whether you can get Nightmare level drops in Normal, but I believe it is so.
I am inclined to believe this because Blizz made sure to state that Inferno gear could not be gotten anywhere else than in Inferno. (implying that Hell gear could at times be received in Nightmare, and Nightmare gear could sometimes be received in Normal)
What about the act 5 gear in Hell?
The 5th act of Hell will have new tiers that are separate, and eventually superior to those of inferno. (tiers 21 to 24)
It is possible that your Inferno gear carries you through the first 3rd, or half of inferno. (but eventually the act 5 gear will be better.
and
The inferno level cap will be raised to include New inferno gear. (tiers 25, and 26)
This is the only logical conclusions I have to this problem that I am sure Blizzard has foreseen.
An additional Side point that is supported by this theory:
Theory: You will not be able to play just once through each level of difficulty level to reach the recommended level for the next difficulty.
i.e. Your character won't be level 30 by the end of Normal if you run everything once. (30 is the recommended level for nightmare)
Why do I believe this?
Well, if you finish Normal at level 30, and can start nightmare reasonably easily at that time. Then what will happen once the first expansion comes out?
Here is what will happen:
Regular D3
Normal 1-30 (act 1-4)
Nightmare 30-50 (act 1-4)
Hell 50-60 (act 1-4)
This would happen if they had you finish normal at level 30 by doing just one run.
Expansion D3 (the levels are not exact, just speculation)
Normal lvl 1-30 (act 1-4)
lvl 31-32 (act 5)
Nightmare lvl 30-50 (act 1-4)
lvl 51-52 (act 5)
Hell
lvl 51-60 (act 1-4)
lvl 61-65 (act 5)
What I want you to notice is the "overlap" between the difficulty levels. This overlap will cause the game to get easier once you get to the next difficulty level. (because you will be a higher level than what you should have been)
How will Blizz handle this?
Probably somewhat like in D2. They won't let you get to the level of your choice in just one run.
I remember often times being level 24-26 near the end of act 4. I would beat Diablo around that level. The expansion would bring me to about level 35 in a single run. Then I would grind to level 45-50 before nightmare.
Basically: They will leave enough of a gap between difficulties so that they can add in expansions with as little overlap as possible.
Counter points to my argument:
1. Blizz stated that they wanted you to level "smoothly", and this contradicts my case to some degree. "Smoothly" means you will level without much grinding.
My opinion about this: If it is too easy to level it will cause some overlap with the expansion, as in the example above. I
2. If each difficulty setting is decently harder than the previous, most people probably won't mind a couple extra levels.
My opinion about this: If the difference in difficulty really is that big, then I agree with counter point #2. But I still believe there will be at least some grinding involved between the difficulties.
---------------------------------
This issue of overlapping will only get worse as Blizzard is planning on more than 1 expansion. So imagine this issue with 2 or even 3 expansions.
I hope this hasn't been too confusing to you all.
I really tried to express my thoughts clearly.
Let's Discuss!
