posted a message on So I watched Thor yesterday
I saw it, and i think my favorite moment in the movie was the line "DO NOT CONFUSE MY APPETITE FOR APATHY!" He said it in all caps, I could tell.

In all seriousness, though, I'm sad they butchered mythology and I'm sad that there were people of races other than Scandinavian among the gods. I'm happy Yggdrasil made an appearance of sorts but they completely did it wrong. Still, I believe they got the Norsemen attitudes down decently and the characters had some depth to them. In the end, though, the movie felt lacking, like there wasn't enough story to justify the time spent watching it. Irritating.

posted a message on So I just watched Priest..
I like stories, and if a movie is interesting and good at telling stories, I'll like it. I've read the first 3 volumes of the Priest comic and it's got some interesting character development. If the movie is anything like the comic, I'll probably watch it. Predictability isn't exactly a fault (M. Night Shyamalan, very little predictability, very irritating), and 3D's almost always a retarded gimmick now. Original art is incredibly rare and I don't expect it when I go to see a movie that has ads on tv. The amount of negativity in this review makes it seem like you expect everything to be new and different. I've helped my brother with his songwriting, and if there's anything I learned from music, it's that everything is derivative of everything else. Having similarities with something else doesn't make it bad art.

For clarification: I've not seen it yet. I could easily believe it's dreadful though.

off topic, I saw sucker punch a while back and now that it's stewed in my head for a bit, the movie was pretty awesome. It didn't make much sense, but that's not what it was going for. It was just a fun, good story.

She thought we made out a lot, when in reality I saw her twice a week and we'd kiss a total of 5 minutes. I think she was looking for a gay friend, or something, what with her asking me talk with her more even though we'd talk like 6 hours every day.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear one day that she's a lesbian. Who doesn't like kissing? And she sounds like she was emotionally needy and lacking confidence.

...she was pretty weird when it came to certain things...

Girls are always weird about something or another. And I will probably never quite get why.

So, ironically, there's a city nearby named Lebanon where I went to high school, and I got friends at college there and they say just about the same thing.

There's a huge gap between high school and college sophomore. Being independent during high school would lessen it, perhaps negating it entirely. That's been my experience so far. Age doesn't matter, but experience does. Experience forces maturation, and if all someone's experienced is high school drama, then the 22-23 yr old girl who knows more of the world and of what she wants out of it will most likely be bored and annoyed by the lack of drive. I know I would and have been, when in similar situations.

I've been reading the news and some threads on this site for ages, and discovered that this community is fairly awesome. That made me want to join and, because I couldn't think of any negatives (already a curse member) I DID! I'm super excited about it, but I can't blame you if you're somewhat apprehensive. The excitement could be the sleep deprivation and redbull talking. What made yall join?
