Use regular text size. Differing text sizes give me headaches and looks like you're begging for attention.

    - No offline play means all items found are in the pool of things to trade and buy.

    - This is also a step towards fixing item dupes and hacks and whatnot, if not fixing them.

The only reasons that I can come up with that I would want to play offline are:

1- I have limited internet connectivity and I can't maintain a decent connection to play this game
2- I don't want to play with other people because I'm 10 and have no idea how to act in an environment like that.
3- I want to hack the game and whirlwind to victory on infinite w/e.

    Rebuttals:

1 - If you cant afford decent internet, you should probably fix that. If you're in a bad area for it, you should probably fix that. Else stop whining about video game.
2 - If you really are 10, the games going to be rated "M". If you're just antisocial and don't want to talk to people, don't let others in your game.
3 - There is no place for you in this game, find a different one.
4 - Don't bring up travelling, you can get wireless / internet at hotels, planes, and I'm sure you can get them on trains. Automobiles, you probably shouldn't play while driving.

This whole debate comes down to what you believe. I believe this is an excellent idea. I don't want cheating in my game and this helps with that. This also adds to the item pool, and I'm down with that.

I saw someone talking about how he's honorable. Well, ok you're honorable, but how about other people? If they give you offline play because you're honorable, they have to give other people that might not be so honorable offline play, too. And what if they develop some sort of hacking engine off that? The same problems that plagued D2 will show up in D3. Just because you're honorable doesn't mean anyone else is. And I can bear, with enormous fortitude, your discomfort in not being able to play offline if it helps my game.

However, this discussion is pointless. If this game is designed in a server / client structure, there actually cannot be a single player offline mode. It's just not possible, because if it was, it'd simply not be a server / client structure. It'd be like playing WoW offline. Also if you think 200-300 ping is bad, stop whining. That's not unplayable, that's barely even noticeable. 500 is difficult, 600+ I would think would be unplayable for D3. So you should be fine.

Watch my video. Sixty plus people protested both the 2008 arrest and the 2011 arrests.

I watched it right after I posted, looks good man. I like it.

They are not standing up for anything.

These 'Americans' are just bored and looking to fill up some time before the next Transformers movie comes out.
I think the release of Diablo and Battlefield 3 might greatly curb their protesting urges.

Pretty sure that's as close to protesting the government as it gets nowadays. Our rights keep getting infringed on and people are getting too scared to do actual protests. Patriot act and whatnot.

So I was reading some comments on PETA's website and someone ended up saying that something was "incognible." I use my fair share of slang and am always ready to learn more, seeing as how language is constantly evolving, so I googled it. Turns out it's not a word at all. What are some good not-quite-words that you've seen?

spear breaks off dealing damage over time and reducing speed. Basically trading the drag towards you for a long damage over time and longer and harder slow.

posted a message on Favorite games.
my favorite games in chronological order:

    Console games first:

Gauntlet for the NES: earliest memories of gaming are this and contra with my cousins

Super Mario World for the SNES

    GoldenEye 007 for N64

The Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time

    Halo: Combat Evolved

    TES III Morrowind

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Repbublic 1 and 2

    Fable

... not many i'd call favorites on the 360. Maybe because ours broke and I just never got it fixed.

PC games (in a vague order):

    Warcraft: Orcs and Humans

Age of Empires II and it's expansions

    Starcraft and Starcraft: Brood War

    Diablo 2 and it's expansion

    World of Warcraft

    Starcraft 2

and Maplestory deserves an honorable mention for the oceans of unholy hate i bear for it. seriously. Just google it and you'll see why. No need to experience the terrible game play.

As for top 3 favorite games, I'd go with starcraft 2, swkotor, and morrowind. Diablo's not up there because I was "too young to be online." No idea why I was allowed to play it, though. Pretty sure I justified it with, "but i'm fighting diablo, that's why it's named it."

edited for clarification on the maplestory hate.

At the end of the day, kid's brother is dead, blood on his hands. If he's not irreversibly broken as a human being, he will once the realization sets in. A kid like that should be left for the wolves.

Exactly. He's broken. Society's already failed him and statistics say that he'll fail society, too. The rehab that they would give him should be given to less broken people. He's got all the markings of a beginning serial killer.

Found this topic being discussed on another forum.

    http://www.dreamindemon.com/2011/06/05/boy-12-charged-with-beating-his-brother-to-death/

The kid beat his 2 year old brother to death, and is being charged with it. He's had a messed up childhood and a history of beating his brother. They're considering life in jail, rehab, and juvenile stuff.

Personally, I think most people try to hard to save people in bad situations. I'm almost positive that the amount of resources it would take to rehabilitate this creature into a normal, productive human being would outweigh the resources given back to society. I'm not typically for the death penalty, but anything else would just be silly. This kid's messed up hard, and will either OD or be dealing in no time at all. This wasn't an accidental death, he's had a history of attacking his brother. This will haunt him for rest of his life. I say we cut his short and call it a mercy, on society and him.

I don't mean to be so cold-hearted, but I really hate the inefficiency in the justice system.

I think they'll change it a ton, giving the gems that many levels and with each upgrade not a super power increase devalues gems. making it take forever get makes people (or rather, me personally) hate the idea of grinding for it and essentially stop paying attention to the mechanic entirely.

I agree with crittercutter. I'm actually really disappointed in anyone in favor of it. Clearly none of you took the least amount of time to think about it or struggled with depression.
