    For those complaining about the EU guys getting a head start, consider this: They will be our test dummies. All the server crashes/bug that happen will hopefully be found and fixed before the US region comes online. So its a win win.

    But here's the thing, whats the point finding better loot? At L60 you're maxed out. There is no more character development. You've done the story 3 times by now in each difficulty. There is literially no more incentive to farm items because your character is at the height of its development.

    You've pretty much hit the nail on the head here mate. To me, Diablo 3 has almost no replayability as compared to Diablo 1/2. The whole item farming meta game that drove people to play Diablo 1 and 2 for so long is gone in D3 - All you need to do now is get your char to max level, which appears to take 2-4 weeks for your average joe, and then trade for gold or money (I won't, personally), and you're done. Why bother farming any further if you're max level? There will no longer be any incentive as your character won't be developing any further past L60.
    People keep saying there will be 'endgame'. No. Once you hit L60, you have no incentive to grind. The only other option is PvP, which many don't have an interest in.
    Further, I'd come back to Diablo 2 every 6-12 months to replay the game and level my char again. Had lots of fun. I won't do that anymore because my L60 char will always be available and maxed.
    To me, the core mechanic of the Diablo series is now rendered defunct.

    Only thing that I still doubt on this topic is number of mobs they'll allow on screen at once. I really hope they're not going for full tactical combat with a max of only 10-15 mobs on screen at once at any time. I'd also like 50+ mobs in giant groups, whether its a large group of weak and slow mobs (zombies) or whatever else.

    Exactly. Raising balance as a potential problem is void, because all systems require balance to be achieved. This is a design decision.

    Orphin, you are definitely right in that is probably exact Blizzards thoughts. But all of that can be designed around if necessary.
    Corpses or no, the main point of this thread was the loot - There is really no reason why loot shouldn't cover the ground.

    Do the bodies really disappear? I thought I saw them stay in the trailers. In Torchlight, monster bodies stick around in until you leave the zone. If a game like that designed for netbooks can have bodies staying, I don't see why D3 made for higher end computers can't do the same.
    Yeah the corpses do disappear, and fairly quickly. They all fairly nice animations that make them disappear in a good fashion. But it still happens unfortunately.

    That would actually make sense. "No drop" would just be the result of the game trying to drop the cool item of awe, whose tick-box in the "loot that can drop"-list has been turned off.

    I hope so Don. The other popular theory would be the due to gold and crafting actually being useful now, the distribution of good items may now to spread out among those systems too. Which means gear drops on the whole are reduced. This is what I hope isn't going to happen. I love the masses of loot that drops in D2. To me thats a staple part of the experience.

    Yeah I can understand that - Maybe they're trying to reduce the amount of times you sit there trying to decide what semi-junk to dump for another item in your inventory. But, some of me is sitting here thinking I'm really going to miss those days trashing half an army, looking back, and seeing just fields of gear.
    I mean, based on what we know now (From videos), gear is really rare. Take a look yourself. Does this mean that when gear does drop, it'll almost always be good? I'm not sure I want this.
