This build is a Support/Tank Build and is mainly used for Disruption/Survivability
- Spirit Generation -
I gain 3 SPS + 2 SPS from Mantra of Healing - Circular Breathing and Chant of Resonance - Passive, also Way of the Hundred Fists - Spirited Salvo = 6 spirit + 15 on Proc. So spirit wont be an issue.
- Buffs/Debuffs - Mantra of Healing - 600 Life per Second 2372.5 per sec 3 seconds after activation. Guiding Light - Passive Will be always active giving my allies 16% damage all of the time. Serenity - Immunity for 5 sec - 45 sec cooldown (WoW paladin bubble (; ) Inner Sanctuary - Basically Immune to melee for 6 seconds, + 2966 Healing every second while in it. Resolve - Passive - Damage you deal reduces enemy damage by 25% for 2.5 seconds amazing to put on there best damage dealer.
- Items -
For Items primarily you will want a fast 1 hander + Shield (explanation below).
and building dexterity/Vitality for Damage/Dodge/Health
- Play style -
Play style is what puts the icing on the cake, This builds play style depends on who you're playing with.
This build would be great with a WD/Wizard/DH just for how much crowd control the whole team has, or if they're getting killed you can Cyclone strike the enemies to you. Also the monk needs to constantly be spamming Way of the Hundred Fists on different targets to spread the Resolve Debuff this is where the fast weapon comes in, the faster the hits the more debuffs you can spread, not only that but the more hits, the more spirit you'll obtain = more heals!
Side Notes Breath of Heaven = 25 spirit 15 second cooldown
Passive Spirit Gain = 5 Spirit Per second = 5 x 15 = 75 Spirit.
Will be able to use Breath of Heaven constantly off cd with 50 spirit left over
not to mention ex: 1.50 (attacks per second) weapon which would equal to (if you can attack without cc)
1.50 x 6 x 15 = 135
THEREFORE in a 15 second period 135 + 75 = 210 Spirit every 15 seconds.
you might be thinking "that is too much spirit", but NOPE Chuck Testa. Cyclone strike/Mantra of Healing are spammable abilities, only to be spammed when all my other abilities are on cooldown.
I kinda went a little far and put this build to a science, but meh i think it was worth it.
How powerful do you think the Monks healing has the potential to be and do you think at some point every team will want one?
I'm guessing at some point some sort of Breath of Heaven Mantra of Retribution spec with some nice item bonuses will appear and dominate PvP. Until blizz nerfs it of course =P
What are you thoughts? Will a healer class dominate pvp?
I see your point here Richy, but the thing is lifesteal will be a pretty big factor as well. it could be viable but its too early to see now, i sure want to try it. That or a dodge/armor tank monk
And what do you propose the design of the banner teleportation be when hostiled? What about quest/event teleportation? What happens if you're being camped at your last checkpoint thus you can never respawn anywhere safely?
Please think about how your suggestion would affect the game before you go shouting it out to the world. "I WANT WORLD PVP CUZ I WANT IT AND ITZ KOOL AND WAS IN D21111!!!"

That video pretty much summarizes everything I hated about hostility in Diablo 2. It really sucked that you could be a low level character running quests with other people, having fun, and then a level 80 comes in your game and kills everyone, camps your corpses, and basically forces everyone to leave the game and lose progress on the quest.
Not that hostility would be an option in D3, but if it were it should really be level based so that you could only hostile people +-5 levels of you or something along those lines. I think that hostility in D2 did add a sense of excitement and risk to the game, but only when it was a fair match. If you were a level 18 and a level 20 turned hostility on you, both sides in this scenario risked dying in a fight, and it added a new dimension and thrill to the game for both the hunter and hunted. Being a level 80 sorceress with all the waypoints in normal mode is like turning on the invincibility cheat.
Well considering the sorc in that video is level 30, and everyone else was level 50. It bassicly just means they're bad at the game.

People in Diablo 2 took it so seriously to get (Pked) PvP was a mechanic in the game and it's like you just flipped them off or something.

I think a "enable PvP" button would be cool but only the host could do it or something.
This comp would be good because the crowd control, the damage from the barbs burst/witch doctors spreading dots. with the monk helping the damage with his spirit generator. Wall of Zombies + Inner Sanctuary would make opposing monks and barbs hard to sit on the monk or witch doctor. they're only target would be barb. which lets the monk be able to heal and the witch doctor to crowd control. This is more of a Anti-melee but the barb is very mobile and will be able to squash wizards.

Yeah 5 summoner witch doctors would be way to op, 5 zombie walls, 5 spirit walks while 20 zombie dogs, 5 gargantuans and 5 hex's cc their whole team.
