DoTA - Played a ton of it in war3, was fun back then, but now if you join a game in LoL or HoN, there are a lot of higher ranked players that just go in there and newb stomp people. Got annoying quickly. Also, I couldn't remember which items were the best and it took a while to look through them. I do find it hard to believe people haven't heard of DoTA considering...

Sounds like they spent a lot of time for a tutorial guide for single players... also have they said anything about screen resolutions? It sounds like they are saying we are gonna be stuck at some stupid resolution like 800x600 again.
HC is something I was never interested in with D2 until I played it to death (read: years after LoD launched); to me it's something to do super end-game, when you've played out softcore and want something with more challenge / risk. It's what's keeping me playing D2 right now, actually.
I'd never play HC in D3 until at least 6 months -> 1 year after launch, when I know the game extremely well. Otherwise who knows how many random overpowered bosses are waiting to wipe us out until Blizzard tweaks things over time? Look how long it took them to tweak Fire Enchanted death explosions / act 5 boss w/ corpse explosion / etc.
But that is part of the thrill of playing HC. It is gonna be even more fun the first time through, learning as you go, and taking your time through the game. In soft people would rush through everything and not even care about death. In HC I would take my time leveling, going through the small random dungeons and exploring all the maps, finding good spots to grind where no one else would. I wonder if they are gonna make the restriction of having to beat softcore before you are able to play HC. I just read yesterday that they took that req out of D2 (haven't played in years).

Have they said much on how they are going to balance pvp in d3, I suppose it going to be around team play and not 1on1. Also watching just makes me even more excited to play, been bored out of my mind lately!
