The downfall to defensive side of SB, is your character has to block, AC/Prophet is increase to overall armor with the lack of needing to block.
I myself would love to see a more powerful SB builds, which is will be possible in T6 or lower content. Once you step into GRifts SB may see short comings very quickly
With the latest patch to PTR, 2 handed crusaders may even see a comeback with 2.1.
This is just theory craft, with the changes to Leoric's Crown ( increasing the bonus to socketed gem 75-100% [ 12.5 x 2 = 25% CDR ] ), Vigilante belt ( legendary affix CDR )
Crusader's should be able to drop CDR from their 2 hander and from another gear slot, we will say amulet.
Allowing weapon % affix to weapon, and adding damage affix to amulet.
With the changes crusaders should be able to maintain perma champion and see a boost to damage.
It may depend on other people's gear level, but when I loaded my account to the PTR I saw a increase in damage, even with the 20% damage reduction.It wasn't ground breaking crusaders are OP destroy everything you look at. A decent amount of a increase.

Reaper'a wraps will be a big help to manging holy shotgun wraith issues.
Along skill changes will help to.
A heads up, in 2.1 they lowered the amount of materials for crafting Reaper's wraps.
Another note, Blackthorne amulet is going to have better range of rolled affixes, so you can get a full 4 piece set bonus ( pants, belt, amulet ) giving you the added survival bonus you may lose with replacing your bracers to Reaper's wraps

I saw a increase to my holy shotgun build, I average out in the low twenties on PTR. My lowest on live is roughly 18ish
Baleful I say is quite amazing on PTR. I only played for like 15 minutes and the avatars are like a mad army now.
I don't have the craziest gear. Decent end game, so most crusaders should not worry about the 20% reduction on the new PTR passive.
