    Quote from Clypheous

I think it depends on what character I'm playing. I think a would want an all blood-red Demon Hunter and maybe a Wizard that wears all deep blues or possibly purples.

I agree, which is why I answered based off of my first character, the Monk. I'd pick like silver and dark red for a barbarian, black for a DH, etc.

Ideally I'd have 5 identical polls, one for each class. But you can only create three. :(

Added options for dual-wielding two 1H weapons now that we've got new info. confirming that you can do so. However, our current knowledge also says that the monk can't use any 2H weapons. I'll keep them there for reference purposes, though.

Just delete them^^ Can you wipe a Poll? Oh and the Monk can use 2H Weapons... Combat Staffs (they are Monk specific) and probably 2H Polearms... but I'm waiting for confirmation on the 2H Polearms. Also there are no 2H Spears :( they are 1H Weapons you can even dualwield them <_<

No, I'll leave them. It shows that people did want to use Glaives and big Axes and whatnot. And I won't wipe the poll either.

Yes, they can use Staffs. I forgot to exclude that from my "no 2Handers" statement. Perhaps polearms, but I haven't encountered any video of a beta player equipping one.

You can delete your vote and re-vote if you like one of the newer options.

Dyes! We've seen them in countless other RPGs, and now they're here in Diablo. We have limited information on dyes, but we do know most visible pieces of armor can be dyed. I'll add some more basic colors in addition to the 2 types that dropped in the 2010 Blizzcon demo (an off-white color and a natural brown color) seen here:

    .

Here's an SS I numbered that shows us a mid-tier(-ish?) Wizard armor. Keep in mind that each piece of every tier of armor can dye differently, so these colors could be more vibrant/subdued depending on what you're wearing.

There will be rare dyes, perhaps deep shades of red and black or bright whites that are more desirable. There's also the possibility of a unique Collector's Edition dye, or dyes related to completing difficult endgame material (Tyrael's Soul Dye, etc.).

So: how do you plan on dying your your first character? Will it be a solid color like you see in the above picture or will you mix and match? If the Collector's Edition had a dye, what would it look like? Should some very rare dyes also have some sort of effect associated with them, like a smokey aura or glow?

For me, I had a tough choice between full white or mixing black and some other color for my Monk (my first character). I think I'll end up shooting for full white, but this could change if white dyes are crazy-expensive.

posted a message on Beta Keys (non F&F)...
There are no "keys." There's no place to enter a "key." You download the client, like many of us already have, and log in with your battle.net account. If you're in the beta, your account is approved and you play. If you're not, you're not.

I think Blizz have repeatedly said that monster spawning and other mechanics work off a single screen's viewpoint. This looks great as a mob-less screenshot, but when he gets into battle it's just going to be a centered combat brawl and 2 sides of empty scenery.

Also you have to realize that this is 3 screens, so draw 2 gaps each a third of the way through the image to represent the screen bezels. This is one of the reasons why I personally don't like multi-monitor. If i'm attacking something over a bezel, my target could be blocked or the skill animation could be sliced in two.

I can understand the humor of unicorns and whatnot, but when I'm not in the secret pony level and I'm trying to be immersed in the game I don't want to see 4 pigs/unicorns/whatever following me. At a certain point they stop being helpful and begin being childish, distracting, and tasteless.
    Then don't summon them.

Oh, no, I'll summon them; I'll just acquire more than one Scroll and hope I roll something reasonable, like a centipede.

And if other players in your party use them you just have to politely ask them not to use summons or just change your party members.
And maybe there will be an option to toggle on/off summons from other players.
Or when you create a game maybe you would be able to set up the "no companion" option or just write in the description on the game that you don't want summons.
I see this as a minor issue and one that can be solved with just a bit of respect and common sense.

I doubt they would implement the game creation option; the toggle option is more down to earth. I should be playing with mostly friends, but it's not like non-friends will obey my every whim.

I think the line is drawn at things the size of the pig. Anything beyond that, especially if it's gaudy, is just excessive.

Have to find out the others.
I'd like the mini-cow (king?) or a little sparkling unicorn :hehe:

But I was thinking: what if these are just placeholders?

I think the Monk cant use any 2H Weapon besides Staffs and Polearms (so he cant use 2H Swords/Axes/Maces). And it looks like he can use any 1H Weapon that isnt Class Specific (like those Daggers for the WH). Oh and he cant use any ranged Weapons.

No ranged weapons? Could you source that?

That's weird. Can the Barbarian use ranged weapons?

In the video I SS'd above, the beta tester also tried to equip a Bow and it gave the same "your class can't use this" message as the 2H sword did. I don't know if the Barbarian can use bows/xbows, but I would imagine it can use Throwing Spears i.e javelin.

posted a message on Monks can dual-wield 1H weapons, can't use some (all?) 2H weapons.
From about 1:08 onward in this video:
    http://www.youtube.c...h?v=ti19N2opV9U

the monk is wielding a 1H cudgel in one hand and a 1H sabre in the other. The Monk also picks up a 2H sword, but he can't use it. It isn't a Barbarian only sword, because it would say "Barbarian" clearly on the right and the only red text is the sword itself.

Notice the red popup notification "This item cannot be equipped by your class." This is said again later on in the video when the monk tries to equip a bow.

Dual-wielding two 1H swords on the Monk is great, I think it's awesome (it's probably what I'll be using). As for the 2H sword: it could just be some 2H swords, or the Monk just can't use 2H swords at all.

Can any beta players try and equip any 2H swords you find on your monk to see if they're usable? Also a post on the official forum could garner a blue response to help clear up Monk weapon restrictions.

I'm just going to ensure none of my friends use that pig, it looks terrible.

So far my favorite is the centipede, but I haven't actually seen the bat or raven yet. I think I would like the raven.

I guess what really irks me here is that I could probably find a rare or even magic sword with the exact same stats as some versions of griswold's edge, like the "+2 max damage / +2-4 fire damage"
Have you played through Inferno yet? I could easily guess that there are some mods which are only applicable to Legendaries and can't be found on rares, or that are very difficult to find on rares.

Because they are not random.. they were still made with a set limit, while rares where not. Remember, More than one of it != random. The affixs on them I think are also custom made... its not as random as a rare.. lets put it at that. If you see one drop, youll be able to know what you "can get"
Exactly. A rare can give you 2 crappy stats or 7 amazing ones, or any mix thereof. Legendaries will give you some fixed archetypes, and a variable bonus or two.
