I still think that the box art needs a little Tyrael Wing action. Diablo 3 announcement website-style epic Tyrael wings. Right there in the background blackness.
No runes in the beta; apparently runes aren't until Act 2.
I do find it odd that they won't just throw some in anyway, just to test them. Just to prevent a buggy release. There are so many combinations there's bound to be a few bugs that the internal testing couldn't grab.
It does increase with level. Level 13 monks in the beta have more maximum spirit than level 1's do, and level 60's will have more than level 13's. AP is the only resource that stays at a constant cap.
Edit: I hope Blizzard trolls everyone and makes Black an incredibly rare dye, like in Fable III. The longer we don't have High School cliques invading our games, the better.
This is how it is in GuildWars. Black dye was inherently pretty rare, but so many people dyed stuff black that the dye was worth a #$^#-ton.
For instance, a Merchant nowadays in the game says:
Green dye: 150 gold
Purple dye: 100 gold
Blue dye: 200 gold
Red dye: 300 gold
Brown dye: 100 gold
White dye: 4,500 gold
Black dye: 9,500 gold
If you do some math, you'll see that the ONE hander does 140 DPS while the combat staff does 155 dps. I honestly do NOT believe that people concerned with killing speed will even touch the staff due to how underwhelming it is. You generate Spirit almost twice as fast with DW and only lose 15 DPS? Count me in.
This just in: ED% range on staves is triple that of fist weapons. Fist weapons can have up to 50% ED on each, staves can have up to 200% ED and 3 more stat slots than a fist weapon. This is just a random example, but Blizzard will balance them. Easily.
Also, to my knowledge, Monks can't use any 2H weapons other than staves. Even in the current beta, all the beta testers who have played monks can dual-wield most 1H weapons but can't equip any 2H axes, swords, etc.
1(2) Monk(s)
Reason: Mantra buff. Great healing/protection skills for tough areas that are amazing once runed. Monks do a lot of damage.
1 Barbarian
Reason: Shout buffs. Ability to take a lot of damage if needed for harder areas. Barbarians do a lot of damage.
1(2) Wizard(s)
Reason: (One will) Focus on frost damage, freezing everything for itself and the melee. Wizards do a lot of damage.
If 2 Mantras from 2 Monks can be active, which I am almost positive they can be, then 2 Monks will be used with 1 Wizard. If you insist on having more ranged damage, you can either take two Wizards with one Monk or one Wizard with:
(1) DH
Reason: With a high attack speed there's potential for nice single-target damage.
I think this compiles a great all-around team, able to tackle everything from Normal to Inferno. Frozen targets are easier for the melee to smash and for the monks to get combos off of, the party is under lots of buffs, a tank is there if needed, mobility is there, CC is there, and damage is there: both AoE and single-target.
It's not that I don't like the WD, but to me it really can't compete -- at least, given what we've seen thus far -- with the other classes when creating the "best" group.
- Apparently to get your blacksmith to level 5 you need a crafting material found only in Nightmare/from NM items
From which screenshot did you get that? I mean, it could also just mean they're not showing all the crafting materials for the Beta, nor all "craft" related items (like a "Superior Book of training" for instance). For all we know, it could be an item found even on the 2nd third of the first act.
The tooltip is over a crafting material (ten of them) required to advance level 4 another bit of experience. That crafting material is found in nightmare; the other crafting materials we've seen have "normal" beneath them. Maybe "nightmare" materials can be found in normal mode. I dunno ><
The "appearance" tab selects which class you would like to view the items in your stash as, since armor looks different depending on the class that wears it.
So if you are a wizard and find some sweet armor for your barb, you can select "barbarian" under the drop-down menu, and you will see what the armor would look like to a barb.
A beta tester over at incgamers posted 33 screenshots of some nice items including rares that he's either found or able to craft through his upgraded blacksmith. http://imgur.com/a/pYfOG#x7B8a
Any beta testers who would like to add screenshots of their items are welcome to post here, and I'll add them in this post.
Here's some things I noticed:
- Apparently to get your blacksmith to level 5 you need a crafting material found only in Nightmare/from NM items
- Holy attribute bonuses batman, especially that Nodachi
- This just in: Griswold's Edge primary source of Petrified Bark
- The "Attacker takes damage of X" mod is back, and just as deadly!
- Barbarians have access to Pointy Tree Trunk technology
- plus .09 attacks per second....
- In the 32nd screenshot of the Stash on the left there's 2 things:
- The "buy tab" button lists the cost of buying the next tab of storage.
- The "Appearance" dropdown menu changes the art of the item icons in your stash, because items (particularly body armor) look different depending on your character.
My choice isn't included and therefore I'm going to hunt down the poll creator with a pitchfork.
WHERE IS DA RAINBOWWW CHOIIIICE !!!!
Now, seriously, silver is the one I identify with the most. I loved Sigon's "steelseries" from D2 B)=] I guess I like shiny heroes
Ha, it's actually include in the parenthesis of the first choice I'm going to lol when I see a person decked out in the most garish colors possible. Then I'm going to kill yell at them
I don't think so. I think the Collector's Edition goodies are from a box purchase-only basis. Really, if you're grabbing the CE, you should enjoy going to the store and getting the "real deal" in your hands anyway.

Anyone with me?

There's beta footage of a Barbarian wielding two mighty weapon axes. I CBA to find it now but should come across it soon.

And there's going to be that group of people consisting of 4 barbarians, all with a mainatainable CotA, for a total of 16 people.

Ah, that makes since. I also got the same answer from a beta dude on incgamers, and that is indeed what it does.
Yes, exactly this. Thanks!
2-7 damage. TRULY LEGENDARY!!!

Yep. Does anyone know how long they last?

killyell at themNope, a dye dyes only 1 piece of armor. Look at the first screenshot in the OP, the tooltip says "Changes the color of a single piece of armor."
