posted a message on Noob season question

One thing to consider when Paragon transfers over. The level doesn't transfer over - the experience does. This confuses some people every season.

Say you're level 200 on non-season and 400 in season - you won't finish season and become level 600. It would actually be roughly paragon level 426. This is because the experience required to get from 400 to 401 is a lot more than it takes to go from 200 to 201.

Sequel? you mean the crap mobile game that kills diablo for ever :D

They've already basically said they're working on D4. That mobile game announcement was just the only thing they felt they could say because their other 'multiple' projects are too far away at the moment.

    Blizzard: *Shows "Diablo Immortal"*

    Fans: *stops cheering - "wtf?"

Blizzard: "Oh we are targeting a different audience, this wasn't for you"

    Perfect summation. =D

posted a message on Mobile game isn't the problem, delivery was.

You're right the delivery was bad but you're wrong that the mobile game isn't the problem. It is a problem. Who wants to play an ARPG on a mobile and spend the time doing it to level and gear up on a mobile?

    I know I sure as hell don't.

The only reason I could see myself doing it would be if the mobile version was Diablo 3 and I could play my PC character on mobile to keep the progression going. But to have an exclusively mobile game? No. Just no.

And this isn't even taking into account the fact that the game is a total reskin of the Endless of God game which NetEase made. Absolutely no effort went into this and it's painfully obvious. They do not care.

That's exactly it. The most soul-crushing thing about this is that despite the complaining people WILL play it and Blizzard/Activision WILL make money from it so they'll decide it was a good idea.

This idea comes up a lot and I'm fully supportive of the idea. I pretty much only solo, or duo if my friend is playing at the time.

The thing is, I just don't see Blizzard ever doing anything like this. Diablo 3 is a multiplayer game at heart, in fact all Blizzard games are. It goes against their philosophy. And the work involved to do it would be too much for them, especially since support on Diablo 3 has basically ended now.

    RNG is RNG.

I did my 70 grift on HC 2 days ago and already have 6 primals. It's totally random.

However the point is correct F/R IS better, someone with better knowledge may correct me but i believe +Disc is far earlier in the damage calculation than the F/R damage multiplier,

That's the wonderful thing about multiplication. It doesn't matter what order you do it in unlike division. Either way the Disc Bonus gets multiplied by the FnR bonus. Without FnR you're just getting a slightly better Disc Bonus.

    With 81 Disc and FnR it works out at x184.5 multiplier (dmg * (1 + 81) * (1 + 1.25)) versus 91 Disc with a x92 multiplier (dmg * (1 + 91)).

Of course you could try to take the 100% damage from the Endless Walk and use the SoJ for more Disc but that's still inferior with a x184 multiplier (dmg * (1+91) * (1 + 1)) and that requires you to be standing still for a good few seconds which doesn't suit the Unhallowed set at all.

FnR is flat out the best.

posted a message on Cheat Engine in Diablo 3 - is it bannable?

Yeah, certain. You can search values all you like. It's how bots and overlays work. But changing the values, the servers just going to know that's not what the value actually is and reset it on your client.

It's all pretty much server-side anyway, so CheatEngine is useless, even if it wasn't bannable (which it most certainly is).

Just keep playing. Drops are random, so it's only a matter of getting more items to drop overall to increase your chances.

posted a message on Expert Knowledge Needed: Damage Bonus of Strongarm Bracers vs. Magefist in cube

Pretty sure they're both additive with like-for-like stats on other items. Magefist is additive with other Fire Skills Damage items, like elemental damage on bracers and/or amulet and Strongarm is additive with other items that affect specific skills or enemies.

It will depend on how much of each stat you already have as to whether they will make a big difference or a small difference.

You could try www.d3planner.com and add your character to see what it thinks your damage will be like with each item.

posted a message on Hi there. Haven't played since the AH days, few questions

    1. No. If you're on PC (I don't know about consoles), there is no bonus act anymore, so all caches are the same. You can open each of them whenever you want.

    2. You mean extracting a Legendary's power? Yeah, you can only extra powers for the legendaries that are listed when choosing one to equip in the cube. You can normally tell this directly on a Legendary because it will have a small orange diamond just in-front of the power ability. If it is hollow, you haven't extracted it yet. If it's full, you have, and if it's not there, it can't be extracted. Or something like that.
