stupid question. it's like "is there a point in playing a game?", or "is there a point in listening to music?". if you like it, do it. if not, don't. easy. but not so much for young people nowadays, they seem to need guidance from anonymous people on the internet, lol.
Yeah but if theres no difference between seasonal and non seasonal other than the leaderboard then i'd just play my high levels I already have of each class.

If you just play for fun why is being on the leader boards a goal for you? If you truly "play for fun", then just play to have fun.
Yeah thats the point of the thread, to find out if theres a point to playing a seasonal character without the leaderboard >_>

I don't know how this stuff works but if I don't basically start a character right at the seasons start and play 20 hours a day or something as well as playing the most efficient possible which as I understand it is the only way to be on the leaderboards then whats the point in me playing a seasonal character at all? I'm not a very good player and just play the game for fun.

Needs a filter option to get rid of the builds that require a specific item to be viable so those of us unlucky or just starting out can find good builds.

That is already in, go to the builds page, and simply add the items you dont have to the filter, and then click filter

Umm no its not, adding items one by one to that will just get rid of builds that have that item at all even if they aren't tagged as required and adding every item 1 by 1 would take forever and just give me a list of 0 builds...

We're talking about a feature that only lists builds with 0 items tagged as required so that people without the gear that adds bonus features to skills or set bonuses can find good builds in there. As it stands the top builds suck cause they require 10 or so specific items that add unique bonuses and things I don't have access to...

To find one build I could maybe use takes hours of opening every page and closing it after seeing the required tags.

Ok seems most of the builds have alot of items that are required or the build won't work. Since I don't have them I can't use the builds on curse. Wheres the filter option to get rid of the builds that require a specific item to play so I can find build I can actually use?

Still using a 2 year old sweeping Wind build

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#aSgYXk!XUa!acYcba

Been using that for 2 years on and off when I actually played and kinda been wondering if any better builds came out in that time?

Hoping to use w/e I get in the higher torment levels so figured asking for a good build was an idea.

Only have 4.6 mil gold right now but this was my first 60 and then I leveled a pet witch doctor and then a wizard haha so given that it was my first i'd like to improve him.

    As you can see

    28.9k HP
    760 all resist
    only 1.8k Dex
    and only 29k dps

right now i'm in act 2 of inferno and just feel that this dps is a bit low.

    Suggestions?

I bought some gold on RMAH so right now have like 96 mil gold and the gear I have cost about 15 to 20 mil a few days ago just as I hit 60. The gear was only meant to be temporary so I have no issues ditching it for upgrades.

Could you edit the list you gave to use my budget which i'l say is 85 mil as I want some for alts later? Also if you can split each item into its own line to allow for easier reading haha that wal of text was a little hard to follow.

Thx for all the help :)
Surprised that set cost you that much, but 85m is plenty for an archon set. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Xender-1192/hero/5366268 is what I managed to build with ~150m and once you hit a certain point even a few thousand dps increase is 20m+. I am using a crappy hellfire ring as I have only ran one uber and I just wanted the exp boost, I think I gain 20-25k dps when using a real ring. I added you in game incase you want to talk more, sorry for late response I was farming. I cant really give you exact values of what you should spend on each but here is what I got and what I think you can get. Obviously keep in mind your budget yourself and try to see if you can get a little worse of an item for much cheaper. I think since you wont be buying a crit ammy and stacked boots and with slightly worse stats, you can get away with under 85m. Worst case you can cut money from other places, like the zuni ring.

Helm:mempo with high int, 9% atk speed, and either vit or phys resist( my helm was 1.35m)

Shoulders: you can go with vile ward shoulders with ~175 int and 75 vit with 50 phys resist and 75 ish all resist for ~4m (may not be any on the AH at the time)

Chest:you can go either tal rasha chest or a zuni chest. I have both and have been debating which to use. I stuck with my zuni chest, you can get one with around 250-300 stats(int+vit) and phys resist for under 10m(i spent 5.5m on mine)

Belt: find a witching hour. The prices with these varies as well as the stats you can get. I have two which I switch depending on what im doing. I use the one I have on armory for farming bc of the pickup radius. Theres a lot of stat combinations so just try to see whats fairly cheap. Could look for int+phys+all resist or maybe pick up radius and one resist. Crit dmg rolls between 35-50 and ias 8-9. Obviously more stats will cost you more money. I think mine was 12m

Legs:innas pants work. Try to get either int or vit on them, 9 ias prefered. Mine were 20m which is probably a little high but at the time they were the only 9% ones I found.

boots: zuni trail, 8% prefered with either high stats or phys+all resist. Mine were 20m, I think you can get 250+ stats with ~50 phys resist for like 5-10m.

Amulet: a tal rasha with high stats, avg dmg, and maybe a resist is nice and fairly cheap. Crit chance ones cost 50m+ and mine was 40m, you dont gain too much for the investment.

bracers: I prefer to stack phys+all resist, at least 4% crit chance, this is one place I got pick up radius and you can try to find some as well. stats are kinda low on mine but they were only 2m, I think int rolls up to 150 or so.

ring: zuni pox with crit chance is nice, gives you the 3 piece for extra resist, mine was 25m and had some avg damage on it. maybe try and snipe one for cheaper or if you dont want to spend the money get a cheap one with like phys+ all resist and avg damage and high int or something.

ring2:I use my hellfire just for the 35%, Ive only done one uber so you can get much higher stats. Basically just try and get a ring with like crit chance(4+), crit dmg (25+), avg dmg, and int. possible a resist or vit in there as well. spent 1.8m on one with 20-36 dmg, 96 int, 58 phys, 216 loh, 4.5 cc and 28 cd.

gloves: probably just some crit dmg+crit chance gloves with at least 150+ stats and all resists. This might take some searching, Im not sure the costs of decent gloves. I got lucky and my trifecta gloves were only 10m.

OH: triumvirate, just look for higher avg dmg, more ele dmg and crit chance is a plus. either high int or a socket or vit is nice. Mine was 6m. I've gotten a 225 avg dmg+160 int+166 vit for only 150k, so you may get lucky. I recomend using the calculator i linked before to make sure its worth buying.

weapon looks fine, mine was 1.5m (not including gem) but i got really lucky. I doubt you will find much better than you have for cheap. If you do go searching for one black wep+crit dmg+life steal and possibly a socket are great, once a gain check the calc before you buy.

With my current gear and blood wep, familiar, and scoundrel I have 196k dps, 37k hp, 629 lowest resist and 920 phys resist and I do mp4 without any problems. I am still experimenting with builds though, I am just starting to use storm armor with scramble for faster runs. I also use energy twister-wicked winds if I ever need to reduce the cd on archon(only a problem bc of higher mp and not using teleport rune), but I swap to my APOC weapons for that.

Oh crap I umm didn't know who added me in game and so declined xD kinda just read post without looking at the names of posters much so can you resend invite?

Also I went out and used your info from first list of gear as a guide and got new gear so can you look at it and let me know as well? Spent pretty close to all my gold on it.

Unsure how battletag will help haha but its Peteed1985#1985

HP doesn't add to dmg and crit damage sure it would help the dps but unless I up it tenfold it won't get me to the levels others seem to sport
well your battletag is so we can look at each gear piece to better recommend your upgrades. What is your budget like? Unfortunately looking at your gear, I would probably end up scrapping all of it but the wep.

I would try and get some zuni boots and a zuni chest since you get the 7-8% ele damage from boots and the set bonus. For the chest you can try and get a double stack of phys+all resist with high stats, and the boots just try to get one resist+high stats. I would also pick up a tal rasha amulet with average damage and high stats, possibly a resist depending on what is cheap (6% ele dmg prefered). Get some lacuni prowlers with all resist and vit or int and 9% attack speed. Get some rare pants with a total of 300-400 stats and all resist with either phys resist as well or pickup radius. Innas belt with int for the extra 7 or 8% ele damage or just a better rare belt with higher stats and pickup radius. Try and get a higher average damage triumverate with more ele dmg if possible and 8.5 crit chance if possible, also try and find either high int or int+vit. I am more of a fan of an andy helm with a socket for the xp bonus as well. You could also grab a zuni ring with avg dmg for the 3 set for more resists. Rings also could be better, try searching for avg dmg, int, crit chance(4+) and crit dmg(25+). And gloves could go crit chance+crit damage with all resist and high int or vit+int.

If money is an issue you could always just spend a couple $ on the RMAH to get a good starting set just to run through farming mp0. There are tons of budget archon builds out there (for instance todd/cdxliv or archon) which should give you an idea of what gear to get if you dont prefer my suggestions.

You can use http://theasiangamer...age-calculator/ to try and calculate your dps to see what would be the best bang for your buck. Also I would try and get at least 30k hp

I bought some gold on RMAH so right now have like 96 mil gold and the gear I have cost about 15 to 20 mil a few days ago just as I hit 60. The gear was only meant to be temporary so I have no issues ditching it for upgrades.

would help if you posted your battletag or something but your crit dmg is really low, as well as your hp.
Personally i would just go with a standard archon build http://us.battle.net...XjST!gfY!cZaacY and you need to work on spending less time backtracking/looting to keep archon up. Probably need to work on only picking up certain rares, as a lot of them arent worth stopping to loot. And if you need pickup radius you can always get it from pants or shoulders.

Ok things like the BiS lists in this thread confuse the hell out of me

    http://www.diablofans.com/topic/79976-bis-gear-setups-106/

I have never been very good at understanding theorycrafting.

I right now just killed diablo on inferno for the first time ever on my wizard and I have the following build and stats

    STR: 416
    DEX: 655
    INT: 1663
    VIT: 644

    Armour: 3222
    HP: 25098
    DPS with buffs: 89165

    Crit chance: 51%
    Crit damage 207%

    Damage reduction: 59.87%
    Physical resistance: 639
    Cold resistance: 538
    Fire resistance: 588
    Lightning resistance: 556
    Poison resistance: 546
    Arcane/Holy resistance: 504

    Life steal 2.5%

    24% movement speed

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#WRQjSO!gfY!YZZaZZ

My 89k dps is a long way from the 700k dps some people apparently have and yet even the best things I can find on the AH don't seem like they will up my dps by much.

Weapon is a 1074 dps butchers sickle and offhand is a cheap triumvirate.

Gear was meant for an archon build but I can't handle the keeping going at enough of a pace to keep buff up and I feel the need to loot all blues and rares and gold and with no pickup radius it takes ages to loot the gold. I modified the build and this build works great with mainly deaths on bosses or reflect damage champs.

Confused how i'm using such nice gear and getting 1/10 of the damage other people can achieve.

Try running in "2D" mode if you aren't already. After you do the video test, you get the option of 2D or 3D. 3D depends on a video card which means having to deal with video driver issues. 2D mode is software only so you can avoid any problems related to that.

Now the other thing is to make sure you have Desktop Composition and Visual Themes turned off. You might also need compatibility mode for XP. I have all three set and it works for me. I also use windowed mode (for D2).

Thx for all that i'll try it. its a 6950 ATI so your right it may have driver issues with old games since they make them for new games not ancient games.
