While 2011 release for D3 looks very slim to none. I'm not too down by it.

Yea I hope there is a rare dungeon that everyone gets excited about when seeing in game.

Here is how my end game MF will be

    Me: act1
    friend_1: act2
    friend_2: act3
    friend_3: act4

*All of us search for the "special" dungeon. It may possibly glow in reddish color.
Once we find the dungeon, we gather up and enter

If the dungeon does not exist, we exit and create a new game.
Sounds similar? Diablo 2 all over again!

Lets hope there are many ways to enter " pvp arena"
Not just through queued quick match but, maybe within the game of PvE World.
We can pay a fee and enter a colluseum like place where we can test our builds
Which is different than the PvE world because all the skills are adjusted differently for PvP.

It would be nearly impossible to find builds for PvP if everyone is trying to kill you in a quick match.

    Quote from Jackzor

Really? You make all those assumptions based on a follower system designed for new players? Of course you're not going to find it useful. Its essentially a tutorial. That doesn't mean it has no place in the game.

Blizzard has spent 5~6 months recording the voices, creating a story line, creating a 3D model, animating, creating skills, animating skills, balancing the skills. Do you really think we need a complex system as this to get people to join a "multi-player" game?

If they wanted to make a tutorial, they would've made a better tutorial alright?
There are tons of better ways to make a tutorial and implement it in the game that would "ALWAYS" be useful. Meaning a small tip video or words from the townspeople saying "Join forces with your fellow fighters ! You put yourself in danger by fighting alone !"

Having all this work and system done just so that they'll be completely out of the content (once we are lvl 60) is what makes it a huge waste of time on blizzard's part.
They could have used their time more efficiently and effectively by creating a more "get to the point" tutorial that encourages people to play co-op.

These followers are getting their own story line, lol....
Little too much for a tutorial? It makes you wonder these followers are almost complex enough to be their own class themselves...
Too much work done for too little benefit.

No matter how much your in love with Blizzard.
This follower system is a big waste of time in both consumer and developers' end.
We don't need an entire system that becomes useless, just so it "encourages" people to play "co-op".
Anyone sense an irony here? to play with Followers, we have to make a passworded game.
But yet, they want us to start playing with real people?

In addition, god knows how many times blizzard "iterated" through this follower system.
My guess is that it took them 5~6 months just to get this thing implemented...

Could've gone to design a better 5th class and name it better than a " Demon " Hunter...

    Way to go Blizzard

On the side note, what is going on with this "too much action at once" on the screen.
We are not 5 years old who only have attention span of keeping one skill at a time. Most of us have played D2, and the sheer number of action that goes on with 8 man game is not all that spectacular. Having 4 players + 4 mercs is completetly fine.
Even in some MMO, 100 vs 100 was perfectly fine. It doesn't mean you are stacking 100 players into one screen, but just the possibility of interacting with other players are always open.

Step it up please Blizzard, we're in 21st century here.

Bashiok just posted on battle.net forum that Followers are only to encourage people in co-op play.
He also said that Followers become useless after normal difficulty, and they will do little to no damage and die in 1 shot.
I..... just don't know what to say about that...

All this effort and work, involved in animation, dialogue and story just for normal? and not to mention that you can't use them while you play in co-op?
I'm going to be playing with 3 of my other friends, so I won't be using mercs at all

Kinda goes to show that Blizzard's reasoning is not always the best... atleast from my perspective.
If your going to devote an entire team to think about follower system and to go about designing them and animatining each skill and every movement... and to throw them out after normal difficulty?

    Wow.... fuking great.
I wonder if we could've got this game 1 year earlier if they didnt have this.

For those who say Blizzard releases game late because its justified for the high quality.
Lol, laugh your ass right now. This has surely proven thats not the case.

I've always critisized Blizzard for taking so long to release their games....
Now look whats happend, they've wasted so much valuable time creating a system that is cool in design but in reality, only fraction of people will use. Are they encouraging co-op play? or singe play?

It turns out their late release is not justified at all

I think Korea Blizzard site was suppose to be in sync with the North American one.
However, it seems like the koreans made mistake with timing.... (perhaps miscommunication)
As for video, I'm pretty sure this is the final video we'll get... seeing how demon Hunter was in the video.
This was made within the last few months from my speculation

Let's just pray that the graphics we saw today in the Follower Video is not like anything what the actual game is.
Because I'm extremely worried that no matter how good the game play might be.... you still can't have shitty graphic like that we saw today in 21st century gaming industry.
There are millions of non-hardcore players who've never played diablo 2 in their life time. And for them, Diablo 3 may look very dull and less attractive...

Something tells me this video was prepared for Blizzcon.

wow... do you realize how wrong you are in that statement? Blizzard has already on numerous occasions stated that they are going to reveal every game system that is left to be announced in the game before the external beta testing begin. And as we were told on May 9th the Diablo 3 beta is to launch somewhere in Q3 2011 (Q3 = July - September).

Explain to me how they can save this for Blizzcon and at the same time announce the follower system before beta begins...

    You make me confused :/

On topic: I think I'm gonna start playing the barbarian and even though The Enchantress or Scoundrel would fit and make a possible good combination I figure why not have another more "tank-ish" follower, known as the Templar by my side?! :)

Hmm.... Well it all depends when the "BETA" is...
What if beta doesn't start before Blizzcon?

And also, if Blizzard wanted to release the video, it would be either on their main site or on their youtube channel.
Not on Force's channel. So this leads to my speculation that the video we see right now wasn't meant to be released right now.... Who leaked it? was it one of blizzards employee? where was this video first posted?
