Bagstone posted a message on Would you play season 7 (or any season) if no stash tab given?Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
A random forum thread is not a representative sample of the Diablo community. Not even this poll is - it only displays the current mindset of a super small subset of Diablo players, those who frequent Diablofans. Enough people played seasons even before stash tab was a thing.Quote from Quel_Droma»
Meanwhile, there are hundreds of posts in Nevalistis topic from people saying how much they hate seasons and they only play it for the stash tab. It's clear what the general opinion is, this topic is irrelevant.

Bagstone posted a message on 7 Reasons why Diablo 3 is still ...Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionSo the 7 points, for those who can't endure the insanely annoying voice or can't watch:
1) Game has no direction
2) No PvP
3) Always online
4) Casters wearing axes
5) The auction house (no idea what the point of this was, if there was one)
6) No skill runes (from listening to this point I'm pretty sure he has not even played Diablo 3 ever...)
7) They made it WoW
You can argue about PvP, I'll give him that. But the rest is not even factually correct.
1) The game has always been about killing monsters. That's the essence of Diablo, has always been, and still is.
2) PvP isn't coming for a reason, but as I said, that's a valid opinion.
3) Play D3 on console for a second and you see how bad it would be without that restriction. Also, he's talking about trading and PvP all the time... which kind of contradicts his rant.
4) He talks as if he knows anything about fantasy but he makes a fool of himself. "Mages wearing swords, how stupid" - ever heard of Glamdring? "Damage is higher if the weapon is bigger" - no it's not? The damage is higher if the weapon has more magical power. Weapons, just as any items, are imbued with magical power that provide a character's strength.
5) He's just rambling here, completely incoherent.
6) In essence, it's the typical "omg no skill tree" complaint. Which is stupid to the max. Yes, skill trees in which you have to waste 10 points on useless skills to get to your desired spell are really much better! (Sarcasm)
7) No, Blizzard North (yes, that section of Blizzard David Brevik was part of) turned Diablo 3 into WoW. That was from 2001 until 2006. After that Diablo 3 was developed again from scratch, back to the roots.
The video is neither funny nor correct, and I still don't understand why people have the urge to waste their own and everyone else's time to highlight their hate towards a video game. Can this chipmunk please comment something that actually deserves criticism, like current politics or so? And if so, maybe be a bit constructive and factually correct? Probably too much to ask.

Bagstone posted a message on Crown at level 5Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionAs part of further FAQ because it comes up a lot:
* Does it always have a socket? - Yes, it always comes with a socket, even at level 5. This is very unusual because usually helmets get sockets approx. 10-12 levels later (there are some exceptions but nothing that early).
* So, should I just start running Campaign to get the crown as early as possible? - Absolutely most definitely NOT. The helmet is useless without a gem, and when leveling you usually don't get a ruby before level 30 (you might get lucky and find it earlier, or not until you're 40; I've done several test runs and have never found a ruby before 30). However, the lower the crown the bigger the stats loss - which can be quite significant, if you're wearing a "useless" legendary for 25 levels. If you want to get the crown, get it when you get a ruby. You can run to Leoric and "set up the waypoint" or have a friend do that on season start, but do not make the mistake to run around the first hour of S7 with a terribly underperforming item with a useless legendary effect.

Kevan posted a message on Legendary Drop Rates are fine?Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionDroprates are fine.
The issue is that THE game born for loot-fun/feast has become now a sterile paragon grind.
And it's not because loot is too much, but because there is no enough variety of things to do.
No enough theorycrafting, no enough builds, no enough meaningful synergies: it's just little nerf-big buff to go up with gr/paragon.
It's..just boring.
My advice: make diablo a game, not a paragon farmer.
grind loot, trade it, put a gazillion items with nearly endless combinations of skills,builds,etc...and leave people try builds.
and keep inventing new mechanincs to keep people logged in
STOP just raising the bar every 2months. it's not wow. it's not a mmo...and we're tired.
-and a microtransactions purely-cosmetic store, if feel the need of some extra coins for invigorating devs-
make it a game of build-theoryctafting, looting, trading.
what d2 used to be (or poe, with clunky graphics and a very bad AH-like trade: put back gold AH and stop binding items)...not this mess

TheGaige posted a message on [PTR] Season 7 ConquestsPosted in: Diablo III General Discussion
I have tested killing a Gilded on T13 & it works, I got 60M easy!Quote from Demonmonger»
Can already be done in yellow gear on atleast DH and crusader
And thats at p600~
Not after the nerf from what iv seen.
Doesn't matter though, solo 75, 3 gems to 65 and solo 45 can all be done 2nd day of season. No need to fish for gold find
Ofc whole game in 1h can be done kinda instantly.
You aint doing two of the three you mentioned if you played HC, just saying
And yes, avarice is not just kill a Gilded on T10 and get conquest. T10 gilded gives around 11m gold, so you are still 39m short. Based on the gold find % a T13 Gilded will give you around 24m so you still need to chain 26m gold on it. -

TrueColdkil posted a message on Legendary Drop Rates are fine?Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionThe real problem isn't tied to drop percentages.
The problem is how itemization and builds interact. Simply put, even before the free sets which just made the entire system completely broken, there's nothing to hunt for.
Builds are predefined: you stick to one set and use the skill list it provides + mandatory movement skill + big CD skill (Vengeance, Champion, etc) if available. No choice, no freedom, nothing to actually build YOUR character.
So, when you've chosen a set, you're left hunting a bunch of items which most of the times are shared with any other classes (F/R or EW) and basically you're hunting for them in a pool of useless stuff. Maybe you get that rare one for another spec, otherwise everything is just a shard.
Dropping less means only it takes more time to gather them. Too low chance, and you risk people not being able to play their character as builds are balanced around having all these items. So orange rain.
The problem is that most drops are not interesting. Having a set that does all the work has killed the item hunt as a whole.

The Zeph posted a message on About the Goblin GigglePosted in: Diablo III General DiscussionThe goblin post was a good read. I always find posts like that interesting. So much more thought goes into things like this then one could imagine. I like it and since posting things like that doesn't effect game development, balancing or content its fine and great that they write things like that. Makes you understand more of the thought progress behind a game, which is great!

If this thread had not been started by Drahque... If Drahque had used better wordings to not come across as immature and jealous... looking at the core of the topic at hands, he does have some valid points as pointed out by many before me. What dfan is doing is giving Quinn's publicity.
The main issue here, in my opinion, is not the topic, but the way by which he did it. Drahque somehow managed to portrayed himself in a very bad light. His contribution and guides to the community is substantial, regardless of whether you like it or not. I personally do not like any of his post because it feels hollow and the formatting hurts my brain, but seeing the amount of upvotes, it is undeniable that there are many people out there who find his guides useful.
But all that is now nil and gone when he did what he did here. He has only himself to blame for his behaviour.
And frankly I do not care whose name is posted on the tab. Even as a casual player I know which poster to go for when looking up certain class (Monk: Quin, DH: Phil, Barb: Chainer etc...) They are all great and any publicity they can get is well deserving in my eyes.
