posted a message on Crown at level 5

In the latest patchnotes the following is meantioned:

    CAMPAIGN MODE

    • The Skeleton King will now drop Leoric's Crown beginning at Level 5.

Does that mean that the crown will definetly drop, so we could go to leoric at level 17 for guaranteed crown drop or

is the 100% chane still over level 20?

    thx in advance

posted a message on Legendary Drop Rates are fine?

Okay, just to remind you guys we talk about fully gearing in hours / days. So please don`t bring the argument "you have no life" when it is discussed if the droprate should be changed...

In my opinion blizz could go into a diff direction without changing the droprates:

I think we have a few examples where you do not gear up perfectly in a few days or even weeks. Two examples are the thornbarb (esp. swamp land throusers....) and the LoN DH.

And that is because the secondaries have to be correctly. So the amount of parameters has risen by 1 or 2. And this makes it much more difficult to get the good loot.

In case of the Barbarian he loses much damage if thorns are not rolled. Expecially on items with potential 10k thorns. If the LoN Dh has +healglobes or lifereg on its gear the build almost does not work.

If Blizzard would make the secondaries important in general there would be more loot hunting. Be it per bounties/breaths or just farming.

If that is wanted is a different thing ^^

Your point is fair. My apologies. I still believe discussion should be done in a constructive manner. This thread is just dissing Bliz for posting some other articles that some guys do not care about so I couldn't help but wonder. Anyway let's wait and see how things turn out :)

I know (the blizz dissing) ^^. I didn't want to be hard to you, it were other posts that made me write this. I think from the blizzard side it would have been much smarter to first make the balance post and then the goblin post. Then nobody would have complained i think. But now that they did the balance post this thread could be closed and this is good or ? :D gl hf playin cu

You probably need to reread my post a bit more. I clearly stated that we have done all that we could. If you think Bliz really is not aware of the current state of affair then I really don't know what to say. Would be relay weird if the entire player base know about the current issue and Bliz don't, eh?

But if Bliz decide to not do anything about it, then what would you do? Would you spend your entire time on this blog being angry? That is not very productive, don't you think? Would you continue nitpicking on every post Bliz make that not related to the issue at hand?

Time to move on if you are not happy. And if you decide to stay then it's time to face the fact. The game has come a long long way and it would not be a surprise if Bliz ever decide to stop updating it all together. Although that would be a very sad day indeed. But hey, may be D4? :D

Please stop trying to twist my words around into things I do not mean or put it in a complete different and incomparable context (D3 imbalance/bugs vs ISIS? Really?).

This post is not directed to you only but to many posts here. Around 10 hours ago, blizzard finally made a statement. And BECAUSE of the immense discussion of the community they will change things now! Wyatt cheng "Fair warning: The reduction to group buffs is severe. People will be shell shocked". And this is what i expect from Blizzard because its Blizzard. And thats why i keep playing this companys games since over 20 years.

Why do people always come into forums and tell other people to stop discussing? And what i even hate more is why to people have to write things like "move on to the next game, leave this deadgame". This just destroys the remaining community. If people discuss things hard then mostly because of their love to the game and they even want to improve it.

Did you not get what i meant? your example is something completely different. Its about how crucial it is to fix the points the OP mentioned to keep the game alive. Then they can show how their game design works. Or if they have the capabilities they could do both but not show game design things as an excuse for "we do nothing now".

Sure people are interested in gamedesign. But its like you lost one arm and the doctor shows you some makeup tutorials instead of fixing your arm or at least stop the bleeding....

    Thats what we complain about.

I only miss 2 things from Vanilla:

    1) Loot hunting

    2) Actually hard and rewarding difficulties (inferno, here we go)

The first being more important above everything. And auction-house started killing loot hunt since the very beginning.

Biggest mistake #1: auction house, real money or not.

Biggest mistake #2: increased drops. Loot hunt does not exist now.

Ye, thats right. But i think they somehow improved the loothunt a bit for some cases. For example to gear up the lon cruisaderbuild is not that easy. If they could invent something like this for each class and maybe improve it this would be nice. But as u assid maybe the better option would be to keep it like how it is but that you just see 1 legendary per hour. It is nostalgic to remember the times when the star was on the minimap and the heart started to beat a little bit faster ;D.

posted a message on Diablo 3 journey and thoughts

Iperish90 you said that you didnt play diablo since 2 years. Did you really not? If so, you cannot judge the game from theory alone. That is just stupid.

Play the game for like 3 weeks intensively and you will see if you like it or not.

I played D3 also form the start and for me it just got better. I loved the auction house and the difficulty but how the game is now is just better

I mean we have legendary affixes that are better than yellows and can think about how to gear a char instead of just Using yellor items with the best crit crit life% on hit values.

Just play the game and then argue. And maybe then you will also see that seasons are good and why. (i just read the first 4 sentences of your post).

I just fished out one post about inspireing by other players. This happenens each season to all of us. One player finds out a new build and gets like 5 GR levels higher with it. Lets take the example of the LoN build for DH. Wudjo came up with this insane build. And you know what? if you want to do this build you also have to reroll. Because you have to first get the new items (which is not as easy for that build because secondaries also have to be certain values and have to be ancient) and then put new gems on it. To gem your gear up costs so much time 13x levle 80 gems. Its like a complete reroll a e.g. d2 character.

So now i ended up writing a lot of crap. But i will say the one important line again. Play the game and then start a discussion.

edit: You whine about the game being online only. You know why this is the only option for a competitive game right?

And you know what brings bag streamers and players? new season starts! its the greatest thing. Because u know you are not alone starting from scratch. sometimes you want to start a new character (lets say without getting carried in 20 mins) but the feeling is so nice when everyone of the world does the same thing. In the day and week you see an insane race for the "who is the first who does XX". Then the game transitions into the farming. It is also nice because if you play one char one season. and change the next season. the season after the old char will be played completely differently because of setchanges.

How can you be so sure that other compositions are that far behind? What if other compositions are in fact 5-10 grifts lower. I mean, have you TRIED it?

Those who push the leaderboards are playing the meta. That doesn't mean that you can't reach GR90-100 with another composition.

I indeed tried it with my group. But that was after about 2 weeks when we hit p1000 or so. i played DH as main and had to do a barb because of meta (i know dh support is also possible). We tried to make other combos workable for at least GR 90-95. But it completely failed. To compensate the insane sorc damage you would more need damagedealer and this wasnt even enough. And then you have a huge toughness problem. It just completely did not work. But of course we did not try all builds and class combinations. mb something hidden was there.

    Quote from phuzi0n»

    Quote from Justboid»

There are 2 major reasons the 1 dps + 3 zdps meta exists. Scaling mob dmg requires as many buffs/cc you can get to keep the dps alive at higher Gr lvls. The second and really the bigger issue that will prevent even 2 dps is the lag. D3s servers simply cant handle the numbers. This is why zdps go with no area dmg or LoH. In its current state, the game would lock up every time you grouped up enough mobs to kill with 2 dps .

For most of the past seasons 2 dps + 2 zdps was the meta because it provided the best utility combined with the best dps and the least lag. We saw 3 zdps start in S3 speed runs only because people wanted to leach XP+gear on their dps class but it was uncommon, in S4 supports were able to act as dpsers thanks to Static Charge monk proc'ing from everybody's attacks but there was still many groups with EP monk + SC monk. S5 is when 1 dps + 3 zdps was mandatory and it has nothing to do with buffs or lag, it was entirely because of a brokenly OP sword and a brokenly OP passive that allowed 1 class to pump out lingering AoE spells that scaled exponentially and reached heights unforeseen by the devs.

Lag is a byproduct of too many mobs taking damage too frequently. The game was designed around the assumption that mobs would die fast so things like DoT's ticking many times per second or the Area Damage stat which proc's multiple times off of spells that already do AoE damage (aka exponential scaling) are okay when things die fast but it lags to all hell when you group a ton of shit together and it never dies. They have slowly been redesigning things ever since S1 to reduce the number of calculations but AD is fundamentally flawed, DoT's need to tick less frequently, and mobs need to leash to prevent over-grouping (too much density).

The meta is controllable, they can promote builds that cause less lag by making those builds' dps the highest, they can reduce the utility of support specs, they can make DoT's tick less often, and they could redesign AD to only work with single target spells or only proc off the first target hit ortons of other things that don't create exponential calculations...

Fyp. Ye and as said above the gap between top tier and other tiers is important. It should not be 30 Gr levels but mb 5-10. Then you can still be competitive in a sense of reaching top 100 without a perfect setup. And if you really want to get to the top 10 you have to sacrifice life and fun over the game anyways.

How can you blame the actual d3 team? The team is like 20 times smaller than at the development. They have trouble even doing these small patches i think

On blizzcon the d3 content area was smaller than the toilet area .

Its more about blizzard should invest more into d3 so they have the opportunity to make big changes that might be time consuming.

this season i had more fun than any season before. But who expected any big gameplay changes for the next season (when 1 season is 3 month)

is imo far away from reality ;D

posted a message on Is Blizzard working on a new Diablo III character?

Your discussion will not end. But in a grinding game there should always be the factor "if you grind more you get more reward". Sure the paragonlevel system is not very good but lets say there are no botters. Why should the guy playing more not have an advantage?

If i compare that to a potential hardcore different scenario. paragons dont exist. you get pulled by a friend, after a few days you have all items and you have the same chance as a guy who spend 2k hours on the game. Not great for the long term fun of the game.

This scenario is just good for games where micro, macro (lets say sc2,sc2) can make the difference. But this is per definition a grinding game.

So if they go on and lower the paragon importance by adding other long term rewarding things. Thats why I think adding stones to items was a good first step.

But another thing is I see people here who are just hating the game. If i dont like something i do something else. But you come here

try to convince other people that the game is shit. And you are actively trying to destroy the community with it despite.

Go play your other game and post there how nice this game is to make that community stronger. That is a much better ansatz.
