It's not a very good facebook reward though if it's already on their website, even if some of those people hadn't seen it yet.

And three of those Barbarian concept pieces in the first group-piece are on the D3 site, both on the Barbarian main page and in the concept section (though one has a slightly modified helmet). The left-most one has appeared in several places (and I believe in the art trailer released in 2008), though I don't see it on the site.

I may have been mistaken about the second one, it is very similar to some others I have seen.

It's not that I want to make a big deal out of it. It's just that I look forward to these image releases because Blizzard never give us any damn information, and I am sad to see recycled material in them :(

I'm wondering why they bothered adding the two Barbarian ones, since they've been on diablo3.com since announcement.

The other stuff is pretty sweet though

Oh good, the newspost gives me hope. Major continuity errors have been fixed, the space-time continuum remains intact.

There are no skill trees, and you can customize your skill points out the ass with charms, gear, and traits. You can have any seven abilities you want, with any set of traits, gear, charms, runes, etc.

Please, PLEASE actually read about the topics you are discussing before you post. It hurts my brain.

They just released the 50k piece of art, and it's the skeleton king. Again. Except everyone commenting on facebook is acting like it's new, and the identical skeleton king from 925k is gone.

Clearly I've gone insane, and am actually in a mental institution in a universe where Diablo 3 released already.

Alternately, I'm missing something really stupid and obvious, in which case I need someone to tell me what it is. Otherwise my brain will asplode.

    Thanks :)

I think it's time to start spamming facebook accounts and liking Diablo up to a million already.

Though if the 1 million reward is as boring as they say, I don't really care...

ON THE OTHER HAND, maybe they were just deliberately underselling it so we won't expect it to be AWESOME

Hey! Don't be dissing liberal arts colleges! Thats where I am <_<

But are you getting a liberal arts DEGREE? :P

Edit: Or are all undergraduate degrees liberal arts degrees at liberal arts colleges? I do not attend one so my knowledge is secondhand.

    Fail?

Everyone knows the flaws of the American education system. Treating college in the same manner (at least universally, there are exceptions) is bogus, because there is actually useful information being taught if you want it--the problem is just that people expect that going to college will make you successful without putting any work into it, like high school.

When they inevitably fail out or can't get a job with their useless liberal arts degree, they blame the system rather than themselves. This should be known as the American Reality to contrast the American Dream--that most people will never be willing to work hard for anything in their miserable lives because of their own sense of entitlement.

This mindset is what caused one of my first college roommates to drop out after his first year--he wanted the output, but he wouldn't lift a damn finger to actually obtain it. I think he only passed two classes in two semesters. Instead, he sat around playing video games and talking about all the great shit he would do when he was super rich and successful.

Not that I'm knocking videogames

So I was playing direct over IP with some brotatos (counts as singleplayer fyi in terms of offline/online in case you didn't know). We realized we could duplicate items by DCing at the right time. So we made a rune library of every rune such that we could make any runeword item we wanted as many times as we wanted.

Good fun, and since we STILL had trouble in hell it was definitely necessary lol.

And since apparently duping is a mortal sin around here, I would like to reiterate this was basically a LAN game with no Bnet access, except over the internet. So it was just for our own shenanigans.

I see no reason not to have at least 7 of every type of rune at the highest level I can find. It's not like I won't have enough stash space. Depending on whether runes are tradeable, they may be worth quite a bit as well (I don't know how rare they will be, but I assume high ranking ones aren't exactly common).

Meh, looks fairly shitty except for the graphics (which I'll admit, are totally badass). Honestly almost everything in that video I've seen done in other games, and they always fail. Tabula Rasa had several of those types of questing features, and that game was awful. As it turns out, having to recapture a fucking town for the 50th time just so you can turn in your damn quest is just a chore, not an exciting gameplay innovation.

Also, having reflex based combat tends to work poorly in conjunction with calculated combat outcomes. This goes doubly so for massive online worlds, where latency is a big issue. The action game player doesn't feel powerful because his items are holding him back, and the RPG player doesn't feel powerful because despite his badass items he's still getting his shit handed to him by a boss that requires him to move occasionally.

Maybe I'll end up being wrong and GW2 will be awesome, but I've seen all this shit fail before and can't help but think it will fail again.

(BTW I've actually had my eye on GW2 for some time, but just stopped caring when Diablo 3 started looking like it might actually release during my lifetime :P Not just judging based on the video)

I'm pretty sure this whole offline/online single player has been answered. Ordinary SP is played online and the characters can be used in coop. There is an offline option, but (obviously) you can't use those online. Pretty much the same as D2 except online is the default. Oh and you'd still have to sign in online before you went offline, like Steam.

I don't have a source for that, I'm just going based on memory, but that's what I recall reading way back in like 2009. I could be mistaken.

Even if this isn't accurate, there's still no way potentially cheatable offline characters will be available online. I don't know why that would ever be a worry.

posted a message on Which class will be the most popular and why?
Everyone seems to gravitate toward pet classes (assuming they are well-done), at least that's what it seems like to me. Hunter is the most popular WoW class. Necro was definitely a popular choice in D2, especially among single player people it seemed like (pets are nice when you don't have coop buddies online :P ). Hell they gave every damn class in Torchlight a pet dog/cat/whatever.

I don't have any data to back it up (except for the WoW thing, I know that's true), but it seems like pet classes almost always end up being the most popular.

SO I VOTE WITCH DOCTOR SON.
