posted a message on Looks like D3 dev status has been wrote into an article...we'll see it in the -near future-
    Quote from theAmigam

I personally think Blizzard has become entirely too irresponsible when it comes to announcements. There is no reason to tell us what they have in development 4-5+ years before they intend to think about releasing it. Case in point, Titan. We've known about it for 5 years at least now...what is it? Not a single detail beyond 'mmo'.

They haven't announced anything in regards to Titan (No, them telling people that they are working on something codename Titan is not a game announcement). People have found out via their job openings and they have commented that it is indeed a MMO. It's hard to hire people if you don't know what you are going to work with... Just popping in to say that.

Nice thread! Gifs are awesome. One of the reasons google plus is better than facebook gp's gif support. Anyway, here is my addition (I think this was once a Diablo Fan's sig).

posted a message on DPS Meter
    Quote from ajohnson1

i dont think its a valid argument to say a dps meter doesn't fit with the genre. you're dealing damage, and it would be neat to have it tracked in real time.

however, i do think its a valid argument to say a dps meter will cause some annoying social issues, such as elitism, player-imposed restrictions, and epeen rage.

    not worth it, imo.

    I agree.

There will be ways to know if other players are not up to par. What I personally will miss though is ways to benchmark myself. I've always enjoyed optimizing stuff to push out that extra dps, it will be hard to measure tiny differences without a dps meter.

I'm not saying it will matter very much in actual combat, but I still enjoyed having a solid number to look at. These kinda games are all about gear and gear is all about numbers. Who doesn't love number?!!

That said I don't think a DPS meter is necessary.

    Day9 did some runs:

Warning, it's his first ever Diablo 3 runs and you can tell he's not stellar playing while still learning and checking things out but if you enjoy Day9 it's pretty fun.

Also it's an old build of the beta.

posted a message on questions I haven't seen answered yet
I think they've said that all items will change when updated, unlike in Diablo 2. Don't quote me on that thought, but the way of "grandfathering" seems kinda outdated and doesn't make much sense even though I can see that some would think it is exciting. Sure it's nice if you have a good item that gets nerfed and you get to keep the good version, but I think that's kinda unfair and It kinda sucks if it's the reverse and an item gets buffed instead.

ANYONE GETTING A NEW MOUSE FOR D3? IF SO WHAT KIND. IM LOOKING FOR ONE ATM.

If I were you I'd get one that automatically disables caps lock if it's on while writing.

I got a new Logitech G500 not too long ago and I like it a lot. Used to run an Intellimouse 3.0 which I've had for like the past 5-6 years or so but it was wearing down to say the least..

posted a message on What are you watching right now?
I'm currently on Breaking Bad which is superb! Other than that I'm waiting for the next seasons of Mad Men, Suits, Game of Thrones and Weeds. I haven't watched the last seasons of Dexter so thinking of taking that up again.

Additionally I occasionally watch cartoons such as Family Guy, South Park & Futurama.

Just to put it in here as well:

Just stopping by to inform that while there is no pause, ESC-leave game is still possible.. somewhat! Although the delay is 10 seconds so it's not really useful..

But basically you can click up leave game, and while the counter is ticking you are free to do anything and it will exit you instantly when the 10 seconds has passed, unless you cancel, wheather you are in combat or not.

Sooo, if you are really extreme you could "predict" when you might need to exit (10 seconds in advance of course) and use it that way.. again though, it's not really that viable and would be kinda obnoxious to deal with but it may have its uses.

do you mean by do anything like using skills? this will make Serenity "3sec and heal or 5sec" + inner sanctuary "8sec out of reach + 40% damage reduction" really useful :D

even with the long cooldowns they have which makes 2 of your slots useless 99% of the time, you will find alot of people using builds like that if viable.

Yes you can use spells and do whatever you like while the logout window is counting down as long as you don't press cancel. So yes, having "OH SHIT" buttons that protect you for the 10 seconds it takes to logout could prove useful in hardcore.

posted a message on Am I the only one who thinks the Release Date is delayed because...
I don't think it's anything as specific as a certain system that is the only that is holding them back, sure some may be more of a reason than others (runestone system for example) but I think it's a combination of things, including RMAH and that whole situation.

Wow those forums are soon going to turn like MMO-Champ : Insult fest!

This is part of what Boubs brings to the table unfortunately. Those forums are horrible. Great site but horrible forums.
Well tbh, I feel the news to be a bit thinner since Force and Sixen left, I miss their podcast (yes I know they still do it, but I kinda forget to check youtube every week).

I think Boubouille coming has nothing to do with those attitude. It's the fact that DFans getting more known ;) But this is not the time and place for this discussion xD

Sorry to make your post derail Gheed!

The news guys are the same guys :o.. Can't blame the team when there's nothing to report. I mean it's not like Force has a lot of content either..

Well, as you say, not really the time and place for this discussion.

OnT: I'm confused about wtf this thread is even about and what's with the hostile environment..? You are saying development started in 2000? Yes, so what? Who is contradicting you ("many people" back in 2009 doesn't really count man.. get over it). If you have something personal with someone from then go send a PM or something to fulfill yourself, you just come out as an ass like this.

Telling the truth is not an excuse to act bad.
