posted a message on All this leaked footage
The only reason why they might mind is that those crappy videos don't exactly do the game justice. Other than that, I don't see why they'd care much. It's not like it's secret content, and those who are actually in the position to attend blizzcon will still much rather play the demo themselves instead of watching a shaky video online. So there's still an incentive and no actual content leaking.

The "new blue posts" thing on the main page isn't working anymore? :/

I wonder what they'll do with the skill system... it will have a major impact on the game, no doubt.

Be careful with your choice of words ;)

Anyways, I think people are worrying way too much. Most games look worse on screenshots anyways, and in the demos we've only seen a bit. It will be fine. Besides, there will surely be a great variation in environments, so I can only applaud that there are some less dark, grassy parts. That will just make the dark atmosphere in the dark parts feel much.. darker ;)

I'm kinda hoping it just won't need "lots of extra content" to remain interesting.

posted a message on $15 a month vs. free to play
If no monthly fee means no new content after release, then so be it. There's no way I'm gonna pay a monthly fee to play any game.

That being said, look at all the things they still did relatively recently (i'm even talking about 1.10 there) for an ancient game like D2. I don't think we'll have to worry about that. Besides there are always expansions to add content, maybe we'll also get a multiple expansion approach with D3. I'd much rather buy 5 expansions and play them whenever I have time, than pay every month and feel forced to play regularly because I'm spending money to do so...

I bet someone like Diablo in the story somewhere could summon him to a realistic fighting size and use him in harmful ways kinda like
That wouldn't really be fitting lore wise. If the dragon is the God of the necromancers (as in, they believe the world rests on a giant dragon's back), then why would diablo of all people summon him? That woud be like Satan summoning Vishnu. It's silly.
That's why I think a dragon would only work in a necromancing context, as an attempt of the necromancers to invoke or create an image of their deity.

Somehow I think an undead dragon would actually feel less out of place than a live one. It could even be a necromancer's creation out of other bones.

We might as well get to see act 4... There's not really a reason to show them in order.

I wouldn't mind fighting a dragon in D3. Although that would be kind of weird with the static viewpoint lol.
True. It almost couldn't be a boss because it would be very hard to let it fly around. Purely from a game physics point of view, only minor dragons that can't fly very well yet would be an option. Or a huge dragon guarding treasure in a low cave maybe.. but still I'd rather slay the likes of diablo and mephisto in D3.. demons and undead abominations.

Just wanted to say I love the logical impossibility in the title of this topic. "In my opinion, I am worried about diablo 3" - Well, that's just like, your opinion man, in my opinion you are not worried about diablo 3!

I actually love the D3 artstyle. It's unique, the way it looks like a painting and yet real. Especially the desert footage is really nice.
They had to do something different than D2, for progress' sake, they couldn't use the graphics from a 10 year old game. So it's gonna look different. And the game takes place in different environments, so it's also gonna feel different. And that's good, because it's a different game.

Seriously, is your penis gonna shrink because at least one act has some cheerful looking parts in it? Or even because the overall color palette is brighter? Once I'm playing the game and actually running around with my charcter through a whole world ready to be explored, I won't care about how some old screenshots look.

Is there anything that hints to dragons in D3 lore? If yes, bring it on. If not, i'd say rather not. Don't get me wrong, I love dragons (even got a dragon tattoo), but it would just be too much of a cliché.

Oh so your saying the towns should act as questing spots.
EX: you start at Tristram and there are a bunch of level 1-5 quests around it only, then you travel to Westmarch and there are a bunch of level 5-10 quests around it only, etc.

I dont think that would make sense with the game. Why would the humans have settlements in the depths of hell? Relating it to D2, this idea is like placing small settlements at places like Far Oasis, Lower Kurast etc. Seems a bit strange. It CAN make sense in some areas but in most parts of the acts it just wont make sense to have a settlement there because the place is just too hostile and it would make no sense for a human settlement to be there. Can you imagine a human settlement at the River of Flame?
Places like the river of flame would just be passages to the next town. Besides, every town in d2 has monsters at the gate.
