I'm holding out until later today for the other panel. But damn if there's no actual systems work like oh idk sets being mandatory, paragon being awful ect, it looks like yet another disappointing blizzcon for what now feels like blizzards neglected child of a game.
Maybe this new form of DLC will be common? D3 IS their only game without a steady source of income, so maybe if a payed DLC system is put in place we'll actually get some meaningful changes to the core game play?

I wanted to check in real fast, before I fall out of my desk chair and sleep on our dirty office floor, with some information that has helped me significantly.
I was watching one of Newtiunplugged's videos this afternoon and he commented on five rules, so to speak, to help you make choices for gearing. As I've read the great post/guide from Thaya: http://www.diablofan...pdated-for-103/ they mention a great break down of stats to look for on items. But one thing that didn't set in with me is the absolute priority of stats to look for first on each item. I got the impression from the guide that you could pick two or three of the six or seven stats listed to be in the right place.
Newtiunplugged said as the first rule; all pieces of gear must have Dex, Vit and at least your chosen resist on them. The higher the dex, the better. That was sorta standard for me anyway, but its relevance was clear to me with the second rule; go for Attack Speed on your rings and not crit. If you can find a ring with both (also with Dex, Vit and Resist) great - but Attack Speed first. His reasoning was that Attack Speed has a higher % value on Rings than Crit does. So go get crit on your gloves, ammy and bracers - attack speed on your rings.
I took a look at my gear and I had 3 pieces that broke the first rule - they had Dex and Vit, but not at least my chosen resist. Mainly my two rings and my chest. So I dropped some gold and got rings with Attack Speed at 7% a piece and Dex, Vit, Resits. He also talked about weapons with high dex on them and no LoH. He doesn't care for it and I understand why. I still do, but I took a look on the AH and found a 790 dps weapon with 224 dex and 48 crit% with an open socket. Nabbed it for 1.5m and my DPS went from 28k to 36k buffed. I also followed the advice from folks who responded to this thread and switched to the Enchantress and I'm very pleased with the Armor and Attack Speed buff.
Suffice to say that I haven't ventured into Act 3 yet today - I did run Act 2 significantly faster and only died 3 times, to the stupid tall spinning mobs that look like the things from the 8-bit Zelda. I got my res up to 700 and with a health increase to 42k, I definitely can see the difference.
Hope it helps and thank you all again for the advice!

One suggestion/addition I would make to the guide is before the Leoric's Manner WP - go to the Northern Highlands WP and wherever it spawns, head straight west until you reach the edge of the zone. Run up and down the edge - there is a chance for the Watch Tower event/area to spawn, which is always on the edge of the zone and it usually has 3 to 5 elite packs in it and always a resplindant chest. It's desinged just like the inside of the Cathedral and a very easy area to plow through. Well worth the check to see if its there and to run through it.
Would love to see a quick response from the OP linking your build and gear if possible - recently went back to my Wizard after the DH nerf and am loving it.

I'm sure that I will find that the loss of the damage is troubling and thus it will become a tough choice between the two. However - because of my play style and kiting abilities, I feel that fast casting will help me in the long run.
My two cents.

Seconded.
They are not holding up the game because of mechanics and technical issues.
The devs have time to play - because the Sales Department wants every child with a buck, euro, yen, rupee, chicken, blanket to trade - to be able to buy shit from them at release.
(The preceding is my layman's opinion and not fact - I'm not a Blue. Chill.)

Official Blizzard Quote:
Well most everyone already knows we're working on runestones still, and we have some other changes that are going to shake up characters a little bit. We'll be letting you know as soon as we're sure they'll work out at all, and then we're going to be asking everyone for feedback.
Shake up characters? (The following is an angry retort) - its probably color coded pants for every character class. You get them after you kill a monster. OH and a new wallpaper featuring this change.
@Dolaiim - you need to take over the PR department at Blizzard. I would vote for you!
Yes, yes - shameless adoration of Dolaiim. However, by far - THE MOST articulate person on this forum when it comes to poking holes through Blizzards crap statements.

One: Blizzard makes great games - that we will play forever.
Two: We will all be happy when Diablo 3 comes out.
Three: We are customers of Blizzard Entertainment.
Good - got those three. M'kay.
When a company sets expectations that are SoonTM and then go on to announce publicly that they are aiming for a 2011 release, to then feel it completely NECESSARY to officially announce the push back of the game into 2012 - they have to start being liable for some of this negative effect on their customers. They know they've set an expectation, that they have not met and seem to be taking a "sorry, but until is super-duper-polished, we aren't ready" stance.
I'm sure that they are thrilled about the loyalty they see here from some of us - it makes the person who is responsible for the trouble they've caused, to feel better before they start answering the angry masses. Whether they've done a good job to release too much information or a bad job at being way too vague about it - is irrelevant at this point. What they have an opportunity for right now is to do damage control - BECAUSE of their delays - and ultimately attempt to make as many of their customers happy. And that requires them to know that they customers are NOT happy. Which they firmly know (listen to Metzen's voice from Blizzcon this year when he talks about D3) and they know because of forums like this one. They can't maintain the expectation that all their customers just need to settle and wait. They know they've gone awry with this process and the more evasive they are about it - at this point - they more they frustrate their customer base.
When I run damage control for my business - I come at it from two perspectives: what is the truth and what will my customer think is the truth. I immediately move to the side of truth - and set that truth and the new expectations from it. I do this to stop the rage train of their truth becoming so blown out of proportion that they hate my business. They forget that awesome product that I will deliver to them and just go crazy angry. And almost every time I have this situation - I hand them their awesome product - they are thankful and happy to my face, but they will approach me again and again - with the EXPECTATION, that I'm going to lie to them when I tell them a truth.
That's what's happened here. That's what Blizzard has given us for a long time now and its how they will be seen for a long time to come. Think about it (hypothetically) they say in December of 2012 "We are going to release Titan in the second quarter of 2013!!!" Some of us will go "Yippee!" And the rest of us will go "Sure you are...TM"
They are a company that seems to be clearly comfortable with this. Because they know that pesky list at the beginning of this response. They bank on that.
So those of you who defend Blizzard - listen closely. WE AGREE WITH YOU! We just expect more from them and are not getting it.

I think the point that they are trying to make is that all of this is happening, right now, TODAY - the day of its release.
If you are there, at that moment, your juicy Whopper is supposed to be delivered to your hot chubby hands and the poorly paid window attendant tells you:
- to wait because they don't have Whoppers
- BUT then someone from the back yells that they do have Whoppers
- then someone from the register says they don't have Whoppers, but they are on their way
- And a satisfied customer is walking out the front door with A JUICY WHOPPER in their hands.....
You might get a little pissy. They sell Whoppers at the drive thru window. They told you they will sell you one today. You get to the drive thru, TODAY, and there are no Whoppers. Sad day, wouldn't you agree?

Just checked today and it says to be delivered January 12th of 2012.
I canceled my pre-order. I'm ASSUMING that its in retail stores now or on the 15th as that was the original date of release. And since everyone with a microphone and a voice that speaks about Blizzard games HAS ONE ALREADY - than I would, again, ASSUME that Blizzard and the companies that work for their PR department would be on the ball to make sure those items get out to the general public, in a RESPECTABLE amount of time from those elites, who again, blather on a microphone about their games...
If you haven't guessed: I'm joining the rage train and saying that I am now - OFFICIALLY - pissed off at the way Blizzard handles their PR and Marketing. Diablo 3 has been so mismanaged that the talking monkeys who announce anything about this game, should be told to shut up. But rest assured - I get near DAILY emails about WoW and how I can play for free for a week, 10 days, a month, until I'm level 20, any day that ends in the letter Y, please play WoW again. They never seem to lately miss a beat with that dead pile of shit. Diablo 3? "I wanna keep touching it - I don't wanna let anyone else touch it - blah, blah, RMAH, blah, blah".
If I were the angry know it all person that I am right now - AND, I worked at Blizzard, I would go to my bosses office and say "hey - guess what. You are fucking this shit up bad."
Let me check...blood pressure returning to normal. There. Mission Accomplished.
EDIT: I just want to add one more thing. The reason that I (and would imagine a great many others) get super E-peen pissed off about this crap is that the Book of Cain is representative of a small victory that most of us can share - in the battle for Diablo 3. Its something we can get our hands on, that is timely and relevant to this game and we can feel like we are a part of the action. This may mean nothing to you lucky folk that are dicking around in the beta and telling the rest of us to settle and chill. When they can't even get the release date of this book right - that's worthy of a slap in the PR departments face.

No. Don't you read the ancient sanscrit of 'Pipe Dreams'?
Yeah, I was being sarcastic. However - total truth - I watched the trailer for the 176th time and thought to myself "I wonder if those clever mutha-fuc%$^&S put the release date in like Elfish or some shit in that cinematic. I bet Bash did it himself..."
Then I came to my senses and said no - the release of D3 has already happened. We've just been running slowly. Very slowly. To the computer to click accept on the download.
And then I gasp and wake up. And there is a comet RUSHING TOWARD MY HOUSE!
And then I really wake up and realise there is no release date. And I watch the cinematic again.....
