I'm planning on picking up one form of low cooldown crowd control (like nova) and then streamlining my build for damage be it single target or aoe focused. That's another thing, I need to feel out how often I need powerful AOE or focused single/few target damage. Seeing as how you can simply switch up your skills in town you could potentially tailor your character for specific fights if your gear isn't there yet.
You got me thinking about other players too. By this I mean I might play more of a glass cannon role if someone already fills the position of tankness. This just add another layer of character variation! Ahh Blizzard you've done it again!
I'm going out on a limb here in saying that i'll structure my characters based on past experience from Diablo 2.
Given that my goal was to get through the game with a minimum death tally glass cannons were never my style of choice in a PvE environment (In PVP it was a different story - in general the biggest burst damage wins). My characters tended to be a mix of survivability and damage output - shield 'n' sword barbs, smiters and sorc with decent ES.
For Diablo 3, I think i'll have the same goal of getting through it with a low death tally. For me this means no glass cannons, decent hp and res, panic button/escape skills (horrify, tele etc.) with some sacrifice made to damage output as a result. But hell if your goal is to make faces melt and things explode into a shower of gibs... my direction would bore the crap out of you
TLDR: Build how you wanna play and you'll have fun. And the flexible skill system supports that now

@stampy - not directly helpful, but probably the direction i'll be taking in the future.
I have tried to download the latest drivers from Nvidia but the install didn't work. The readme section of the driver indicated that it did not support some sony laptops, and the Vaio Z was one of them I got into contact with Sony and they directed me to drivers that were 2 years old
I may have to bite the bullet and buy a new rig... I'd only do such a thing for this game though

Has anyone played the beta with an older (2010 or prior) Sony Vaio Z. I am using an old Z and am wondering if it will run D3. I know the Nvidia 330m will do fine but im concerned about the drivers. Sony, in their wisdom, have not released updates for their switchable graphics drivers since release and im wondering if this will be a problem
