Tried multi, it let me create a character but I have not got set up to a network yet so I couldnt try joining a game.

Single, I have not tried multi yet.

1 Demon - A BIG OLE FUGLY one.
2 Angel - I don't know any of them, so surprise me
3 Human - Wayward Wanderer (possessed by lower demon((the soul of a Damned Squirrel or something)))
4 Goatman - Archer

Ok, I have got the game to load, and I made myself a Paladin. (high strength+Noob like me = perfect match).
I got the wild hair to put the Diabdat.mpq and Storm.dll files in a separate folder named "The Hell" along with all the hell software.
I double clicked the Icon and almost laid a brick when I saw the start screen.
Yes I was reveling in my accomplishment, everything was great......
....Until I hit OK after naming him.
This is the error message that I got after the game jumped back to windows.

ERROR
SNetInitializeProvider:
The specified network provider name is invalid.

Anyone know what I need to do?
I am really exited to get this up and running!
BTW- thank all you guys for all the help you have already provided, I know my noobery has got to be a little taxing on your nerves.

..........it does not work.............
probably cause this file (PlugUlmo.ini) is missing.

EDIT-
It does start but when it does I get a black screen and my cursor stays normal and is HUGE, 2x the normal size.
And it won't do anything after that.

EDIT2-
I uninstalled and reinstalled twice, and rebooted my computer but the outcome was the same.

All right I got all six .ZIPs and am ready to try it out, what is the best class to start with?

Do you need hellfire to run this?

Ok, what do I need to get these two mods up and running?
I have D1 v1.04 and I do not have hellfire.

I'm not too trusting of 3rd hand software.

I'm pretty sure I should stay out of "The Hell" till I get a much better character.
Oh and I found out that I can keep getting the butchers cleaver so for the time being while at a lower level I don't have to worry about keeping a good weapon.

I've read of some hacks that will let you get two (I think) extra characters.
Who was the other one?
Is there any story to go along with the characters not included?
How about monsters?

I'm running Opera 10, AOL has sucked since it's genesis.
I'm 23 and picked this up cause I remembered the game from playing it at a friends house about 12 years ago.
That and I wanted something that would actually run on my old computer.
Anyway, I only asked because I was feeling lazy.
I got to Lazarus and got killed again so I cut it off.
