posted a message on Monks, and weapons
    Quote from Ophion

The monk doesn't know 1 weapon type, and it doesn't know all. It is also the only fighter that can fight empty handed, which I count as a weapon.

So currently there are three weapons, staff, fist, fist weapons. I also recall someone saying something about spears.

Not all Monks (irl) are trained to use all weapons.

And my final point is that fantasy games are not made for this kind of realism, they are made for the most amount of fun. The Barbarian is the char with the least limits and it should stay that way.

So Monks are for sure gonna be able to use fist weapons like Sin's? I saw a like drawing in blizzards char profile for monk with a bunch of claws but I cant recall seeing him use claws in the gameplay videos.

posted a message on Another Small Diablo 3 Date Clue
I don't see Diablo 3 having a 2012 release date just because of how polished gameplay videos from 3 years ago are. As to the blizzcon thing I totally see beta keys given away this year and im willing to bet a decent chunk of the focus at blizzcon this year will be on D3 and Cataclysm. Soon between Cata / SC2 / and Diablo 3 Blizzard will have all PC gamers by the balls.

IF you ever listened to a developer panel, the game is made to be very easy. It's one of the functions of the game. Diablo does not work if it is not easy.

Maybe if you knew the story I would actually feel compelled to respond about the plot...

"Gameplay first". It's writen in the orc brass statue on blizzard central's yard.

Right next to the golden one that says Thank god for people paying irl money for vanity items in WoW. I can kind of see where Umpa was going with talking about the ease of the game, Diablo has to much dungeon to work through to be super hard because if it was you wouldn't get anywhere. I'm sure in D3 there will either be multiple difficulty's again or the game will be balanced on a higher level for more skilled players and easier for less skilled players much like how Blizz has done with WoW. Umpa u have the most unique sig and avatar ever Reptar was my hero as a kid just had to give props on that lol.

Hopefully the PvP lives up to its expectations since that was preety much the main focus of D2 as endgame.

Alright in fairness, Blizzard didn't spend much time on ANY endgame... but at least LoD addressed this somewhat. I mean it's very reasonable to see ppl get bored of everything but PvP, but the latter was never a remotely serious focus on Blizzards part.

Best unintended content they ever created they have a thousand more tools at their disposal tons of experience working with WoW new battle.net and 8 years of feedback im preety confident in the game lasting who knows maybe they will keep adding content via patches like WoW.

posted a message on XP level restrict
    Quote from paroxysm2010

Ive heard they are planning to sort of make the game rush proof, and make it so people fight in their own areas, and do quests as they should, instead of rushing to hell cow levels,

but I just hope they dont get too carried away with this, and make it so if im fighting something 8 levels higher than me I dont get the xp value for it I should, get 50 instead of 5000 xp, just to rush proof the game, does this make sense to anyone?
If I chose to be a bad ass I should be able to fight something 10 levels higher than me to get sick XP without some sort of level difference penalty.

Honestly rushing worked for Diablo 2's playstyle and kept it alive to some extent for the years. When it got the point that you just wanted to buy the gear for a char like get all ur gear set buy a bug rush and an uber lvl to get to 90 in an hour or 2. Which was fine because of the game Diablo was and what the game could handle back then. Rushing seems like it wont happen to me which I really hope it doesn't its nice to just grind up a char to cap easy but if the game is more WoWesque with how you level and it isnt to bad then I look forward to playing through norm then NM then hell and progressing a char through all that with some friends. Imo rushing and power lvling wont exist in D3 because video games have evolved past such major flaws.

Well with current comps compared to 8 years ago and the fact that they kept the game style allowing it to run on a not to amazing system I think that will allow for a ton of content. Hopefully the PvP lives up to its expectations since that was preety much the main focus of D2 as endgame.

I honestly think the game has evolved beyond the possiblity of this happening and I really hope it has if we have a real leveling experience and get to see more areas of the game it will make for a much richer experience. Alot of Diablo II went ignored because you could just rush a char to high level with one of the many methods Chaos runs baal runs Uber lvling etc. I think D3 has the potential to have a very rich leveling experience with friends I really hope to pick up the game with a few irl friends and start up a party and get to leveling and checking out the game world and looting together. I really hope Rushes and duping don't make it into Diablo 3 though I think the chance of it happening is slim to none. Cant wait to start tearing it up on my monk.
