Good grief. I wish they had made it 50 so people wouldn't have any reason to complain about "It's like WoW WAAHHH". But then, Bashiok did say that.

Although I can see that they wanted to make it 30 in Normal, 20 in Hard and 10 in Hell so 50 wouldn't have worked.

That pretty much sums up the entire decision on them making the level cap 60. Jay Wilson and all the WoW fanbois strike once again into the hearts of diablo fans everywhere. When are true diablo fans going to say enough is enough? Only time will tell..

I had a response typed out, mainly pointing out that you didn't have flying mounts at level 60 and that vanilla WoW wasn't the stigmatised mess that WotLK turned it into but you're not worth it.

If you feel so strongly that using level 60 as the cap is copying WoW, don't buy the game. Please don't. The playerbase will be better off without you.

He used to be known as Drysc and was a CM for World of Warcraft. He changed his name and avatar when he became a primarily Diablo CM.

Diablo 3 is a definitive 2011 release. Blizzard have never kept us waiting for longer than three years between an announcement and a release. Never.

That Gamestop leak has been going around for a while now. Publishers provide game outlets with rough estimates, usually slanted towards the early side of things so the outlets know when to start pushing preoroders, promotions and hyping things for sales.

So essentially that March 2011 date is incorrect, but expect it about mid 2011.

So it must be going to be released this year then?

I could see potential problems with people levelling HC characters, farming the HC economy and then swapping to SC. Probably not a good idea. And given how ideas suggested on forums never make it into Blizzard games I can't see it happing

SCII was announced May 19, 2007. It will be released July 27, 2010. 3 years and 1 month 2 months.

D3 was announced June 28, 2008. If it is released June 28, 2011 that will be 3 years; almost exactly the same timeframe between announcement and release as SCII.

(Edit: It would seem that I don't know the difference between June and July).
