posted a message on Spiders, and more spiders
How come every RPG and its clone, on the face of the planet has spiders somewhere in the game?
ive seen rpgs with 2 monster types, and one was a spider.

This is soooooooooo overdone, and cliche, and, well,,,,,,,,,, I hate spiders -_-
I get enough killing spiders in the real world I dont need it on a game :P
D2 had spiders in almost every act.

But you know what? I dont think ive EVER seen an rpg with a snake in it, giant snake would be awesome, is it just the animating them that is a problem? to animate their slithering bodies?.

Can we expect better things in D3? they dont have much of a bestiary yet, so im not sure what is in store.

Thanks, I think its the Cinquedea, but the jimbiya looked pretty good too,
Im making a hack and slash Flash rpg, and I want at least 5 weapons of each type, ran out of ideas for daggers though.

Ya, revives need to not get in the damn way :P

How can you be skeptical about there being money involved? a new re balance will make it a whole new game, everyone who quit because of unbalanced skills ( me, and im sure a few thousand other people) will go out, and buy the game again.

Googled it with no luck, this may sound silly but,

does anyone know the name of that type of dagger that is really wide? looks like a big triangle?
it might be middle eastern dagger.

anyway that was a dumb question, but curiosity has the best of me

Really, if a necro hit you with his dagger, you deserve to die.
This just made my day :hehe:

Agreed. Poison dagger need balance. I want to see daggermacers in duels.

looks like we have some smart people here ^.^
add that ,and what people were saying about skeletons, and you pretty much have to redo Necromancer.
fix amazons useless skills, and your half way there.

Id do paladin next but not sure what to say, I seemed to die with him a lot.
Sure Hammerdins pwn, but thats not a fracken paladin is it? its a hammerdin :P

I dont know how, but I hope this thread gets to Blizzard some how......
and I hope they realize there is good money involved...

posted a message on Duel Wielding
You dont need to lecture me on Duel wielding Ivaron ^_^
Im in Belegarth medieval combat society, and my preferred style is "florentine" which is basically duel wielding weapons, I know all about how to attack with two weapons ^.^,

I didnt necessarily mean swing both weapons at the exact same time, one attack quickly following the other is fine, or perhaps some stab swing combos, I just didnt want to see some lame alternating attack that attacks at the same speed a single weapon would, making it pointless to duel wield.

I kind of forgot about Double swing :P

but im glad to hear they will be implementing new mechanics for it,
penalties are a given, I just hope they dont get too carried away, 25% less chance to hit sounds a bit harsh, maybe just 25% for the off hand, I dont see how having a sword instead of a shield in my left would screw with my primary attacks chance to hit.

I dont know what blizzards plan for duel wielding in Diablo 3, but I certainly hope they do it right,
Duel wielding should give you two attacks, ie you can attack twice as fast, not just alternate your attack between the two weapons you have, that is completely useless.

Now im not saying the barbarian should have a lame bird flapping his wings duel weapon attack, in some dorky attempt to scissor the enemies head off, but seriously, two weapons should = two attacks, and ideally attack at their own attack speeds, animation might be kind of weird, but I dont expect them to go that far animation wise,

but proper duel wielding is something that needs to be implemented,
in fact, if someone can post this on the real diablo forum id appreciate it, as I dont have a diablo 2 Cd key.

posted a message on about fury...
Perhaps change "just for the sake of change" is good, I for one want to see some major changes in the computer game world, especially in the rpg world, and I dont think it is that hard for them to do, but maybe im wrong?
we dont know how long they have been spending on this new mechanic, maybe thats what took them all year this year to work on, maybe they just spend a few minutes a day on it, maybe they only took a few weeks to make the whole system,
but in the end I think it will be worth it,

and from what I understand it works the opposite as mana, so it wouldnt be the same thing as just having the "fury skills" cost more mana, and it also fits the game logically, a barbarian going berzerk or getting """""fury""" is what it is all about.

P.S. i think it should be called "rage"

I was kind of thinking you would be able to micro manage your summons anyway, you know
    "stay close to me"

    "attack who you want"

    "attack who i attack"

    "Defend me!"

    etc etc

and sorry if this is already a skill but while were at it.

    "Head shrink"

Deal 200 head shrinking damage to target, and render them useless to cast spells because their brain is smaller ^.^

again, im all for the not rushing, but I dont want to play for 5 hours before I can see what the second tier skills of my character can do 8D

and I dont want to have to nitpick where the best places to level up are either....
too many games where things arent worth what they should be, ie one monster is two hit kill for 500 xp, and another you have to beat the crap out of for 5 minutes only gives you 1200, bad xp ratio.

Wayyy too many passive skills, talk about boring game play, why not add passive attack?

    "Attacker" Requirements: None
    Passive skill:
100% chance to attack enemies that get too close to you.
100% chance to run around, and pick things up
100% chance to run to the next area, and start attacking the boss.

I think some of those can be converted into active skills.... comon guys, we don't want games that play themselves.

Corpse Explosion, and Static Field offer no incentive to pump points into them,
so the range is increased slightly, big deal, so when im level 24 and I have plus 4 to whatever skills, I dont need to worry about it, still wasted skills if you pump them.

Now dont get me wrong, those are some of the most powerful skills in the game in my opinion, but still, pretty lame to pump them to level 20,

A: increase the damage % per level as well or add bonus effect, stun? confuse, or blind?

B: I dont know how implementable this is but cap the damn level at 5 or something, its too lame having a spell go to 20, when there is no point in it.

P.S. I still say poison dagger sucks,
    its single target,
you need to get in close to use it,
you have to have a good dagger, and good dex,
you can cast far faster than you can attack,
and it is no where near as good as say poison explosion which damages multiple enemies.
So if you use this skill, your sacrificing a lot

as for it comparing it to nova, pretty tough being nova doesnt act like other poison with its 2 second limit.

Ive heard they are planning to sort of make the game rush proof, and make it so people fight in their own areas, and do quests as they should, instead of rushing to hell cow levels,

but I just hope they dont get too carried away with this, and make it so if im fighting something 8 levels higher than me I dont get the xp value for it I should, get 50 instead of 5000 xp, just to rush proof the game, does this make sense to anyone?
If I chose to be a bad ass I should be able to fight something 10 levels higher than me to get sick XP without some sort of level difference penalty.
