Yeah, it really would be nice if they could communicate, even a small tweet saying "as of now we are planning on Day X, but please keep in mind this is subject to change due to potential bugs, etc..."
We have a philosophy of launching patches between Season transitions, and not while a Season is currently active. This leaves a window of possible patch dates; sometime between Season 4 ending and Season 5 beginning. We also, typically, deploy patches on Tuesdays (for North America). However, deployment dates can suddenly shift, including down to the last minute. Technology can be a fickle mistress, and unforeseen circumstances can arise.
This is why we don't provide firm patch release dates. However, we know a lot of players want to plan their time around new content or the start of the new Season. Announcing a more firm Season date is a way to meet in the middle.
Yes, I know stuff we all know it will come out next week. But lets get a poll from the community on when you predict it will come. Think it will come Tuesday as they would normally intend?
Or, when you open the chest, and you don't type in the code. Get their ip, narrow down their address, if their house is a smart house unlock their doors ping every diablo player in the neighborhood and send them to that players house. When the player gets home or wakes up have everyone jump the player and write on their face with a sharpie "quit botting you looser" and then draw a big weiner on their face and post it to instagram with hashtag #heBotted.
This would scare people from botting... SOOO many lame ideas about how to stop botters I love reading them all. Thanks for another comical post gingerbeardsissy17
