crayonsmind posted a message on Mastering All The Set Dungeons - Build Guides, Videos, Rankings And Tips!Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionWelcome to my Set Dungeons Build Guides and Videos!
This thread has some general tips and tricks to completing all the Set Dungeons, as well as individual builds and example videos of how to complete each Set Dungeon SOLO!. The videos and guides are based on the current live Patch 2.4, rather than the various PTR (Public Test Realm) versions where Blizzard were balancing the Set Dungeons. If you get assistance with the Set Dungeons, the majority of these are much easier to complete, but I can't really give you many tips there as I've done all of these solo.
Demon Hunter Build Guide Thread
Witch Doctor Build Guide Thread
Some general comments and tips:
- If you're attempting the Season 5 Conquest for Mastering 8 Set Dungeons and are only plan on playing two classes, by far the two best class choices are Demon Hunter and Crusader. Most of their sets don't require much additional gear so farming up the Sets shouldn't take TOO long and their Set Dungeon difficulty isn't too high. If you have party members to help drop you the various required items, it will speed up the gearing process tremendously. If you play more than two classes, you can pick and choose Set Dungeons from the ranking list below.
- The majority of monsters in Set Dungeons spawn in completely random locations throughout the dungeon! In Set Dungeons where you have to hit a certain amount of monsters with a particular skill, you can constantly restart the Set Dungeon by leaving through the Green Portal that you entered without having to use Town Portal (which takes a long time). This tip will allow you to get the majority of your objectives completed at the start of the dungeon, rather than worrying about it towards the end.
- For players who are unable to select certain skills for their slots, you will need to enable 'Elective Mode' by going to the Game Menu (pressing Escape), clicking the Options tab, clicking the Gameplay tab, then under 'Interface' you need to tick the 'Elective Mode' option. This allows you to pick any and all skills (with some special exceptions) for your Left Click, Right Click, and Slots 1-4.
- The Kanai's Cube recipe (Skill of Nilfur) which converts Set Items into a random item of the same Set will be your best friend, so DON'T scrap any spare duplicate pieces of the Set until you have at least 5 or 6 total items of the Set!
- As mentioned above, it's possible to get party members to assist you in Set Dungeons, which will make the majority of these Set Dungeons easier.
- For Hardcore players, please make sure you attempt these Set Dungeons on 'NORMAL DIFFICULTY'. Also ensure that the rough area around the Set Dungeon is clear of monsters before you attempt it, in case you take fatal damage! When you take fatal damage, a Green Portal spawns in front of you which takes you back to the entrance of the Set Dungeon but DOES NOT HEAL YOU. Therefore a monster can easily take a swipe and kill you. This also means you should avoid using the Moratorium Legendary gem (thanks to user 'Cyberdoc' for bringing this up) at all costs if you play Hardcore, because the gem can 'stagger' and deal damage to you even after you exit the Set Dungeon and kill your character because normal Hardcore death rules apply once you've re-entered the normal world via the Green Portal. An easy fix for Blizzard would be to simply spawn characters at full health when they exit the Set Dungeon, but this is currently not the case.
Below is the overall difficulty of each Set Dungeon - Easiest to Hardest based on my own experiences roughly (your own attempts may vary!). I've started with Easiest so it's clear for anyone wanting to get the Conquest to Master 8 Set Dungeons. Note that the rankings below are just a general idea, it will greatly depend on how comfortable you are with the class and set, as well as supporting gear and RNG in the Set Dungeons.
Difficulty Solo (Easiest to Hardest)
- Invoker - Crusader
- Natalyas - Demon Hunter
- Immortal King - Barbarian
- Shadow - Demon Hunter
- Zunimassa - Witch Doctor
- Innas - Monk
- Arachyr - Witch Doctor
- Sunwuko - Monk
- Earth - Barbarian
- Light - Crusader
- Helltooth - Witch Doctor
- Tal Rasha - Wizard
- Marauder - Demon Hunter
- Akkhans - Crusader
- Vyrs - Wizard
- Rolands - Crusader
- Unhallowed Essence - Demon Hunter
- Ulianas - Monk
- Raekor - Barbarian
- Raiment - Monk
- Delseres - Wizard

Bagstone posted a message on 2.4.2 PTR Difficulty OverviewPosted in: Diablo III General DiscussionHUGE UPDATE: PTR 2.4.2 changes!
=> http://d3resource.com/difficulties/ <=
- The monster HP and damage increase is a pretty stable increase (and values up to TX haven't changed on PTR, I checked that). I extrapolated those values and also cross-checked with Ghom T10-T13 values on PTR (for HP). I've rounded up the last few digits for HP as that's an estimate; I'm sure Blizzard will update the Game Guide when the patch is out. The damage increase is a very straightforward progression and therefore those values are pretty much correct down to the last digit, I assume.
- XP/gold changes are taken from in-game tool tips on the difficulty selection screen.
- Legendary drop rates have never been confirmed for T7+ (Wyatt once posted them for up to T6), but no one ever complained and they "feel about right". Again, the increase from T1 to T6 followed a steady formula, so I just extrapolated up to T13.
- Death's Breaths: I did some runs and also watched some videos, and also checked lower difficulties (99% sure those are unchanged). T13 seems to have guaranteed 2 DB drops and a chance for 3rd, from my testing 25% looked about right and also makes sense in terms of the other values. But it could also be anything between 15% and 50%. More data welcome.
- Bounty cache mats is confirmed by multiple posts on the PTR forums.
- GR keys is hard to tell, as the patch notes are relatively vague and it needs a TON of data to test this for every difficulty. If you look at the wording the scaling I assumed makes most sense (10% increase per difficulty). But this is where we need most data!
- Keywarden machine drop - again, interpreting the patch notes this was the only progression that made sense in my opinion. But if anyone wants to go through the effort to do a large sample of keywardens to confirm/update this data, you're welcome.
- I have no idea about the horadric cache legendaries. Honestly, I myself don't have the time to run dozen of bounties on T11-T13...
- Ubers (update): Did a few T13 runs and got 3 organs every time. This has to be a joke... Realm of Fright on T13 ain't no joke (it feels like fighting 3 GR80 rift guardians), it should reward at least 5 mats.
TL;DR: Most data is extrapolated or "patch note interpretation" and probably pretty accurate. Need data on GR keys, machine/organ drops, cache legendaries.
Want to help out? Please consider logging your PTR drop rates and submit your data here:

May be the black magic spirit panda can help fend off the raptors XDQuote from HuckleberryPhlegm»
I watched a friend register here on Dfans a few weeks ago and Captcha ran her through 5 or 6 screens of picking out rivers and storefronts, etc.. so I was impressed with the amount of hoops you have to jump through to register.
Some bot posting 16 pages worth of ads (that you couldn't buy anything from if you wanted to) feels a lot more like a denial of service attack rather than any genuine attempt to sell black magic spirit pandas or w/e they are advertising atm.
This would be a good time to check some security logs and see what else they have been up to... The raptors are testing the fences and it's time to beef up security in the park.

Excuse me, but our members have given you very precise help - including a link to he official forums where this was discussed before. Your posts #4 and #8 make me wonder if you even read posts #3 and #6? You never responded to any of their help, yet complain about no one helping you out. Could you specify what your issue is and why their hints did not help you out, as I feel you're a bit ungracious towards the people who tried to give you assistance.Quote from redicuorithetruelegendofcookhood»

It's very annoying to see them all the time at the front page when you are searching for the latest activity in actual threads!

Okay, well in the interest of helping out the new folks... here are some (but not all) of the gold related items we are talking about:
Goldwrap belt: On gold pickup: Gain armor for 5 seconds equal to the amount picked up.
Boon of the Hoarder gem: (at max rank 50) 100.0% chance on killing an enemy to cause an explosion of gold. Gain 30% increased movement speed for 2 seconds after picking up gold.
Avarice ring: Each time you pick up gold, increase your Gold and Health Pickup [and progression globes] radius by 1 yard for 10 seconds, stacking up to 30 times. (or could use Thing of the Deep mojo geared/cubed for WD)
Goldskin chest: Always rolls 100% GF (Gold Find)
Kymbo's Gold amulet: Picking up gold heals you for an amount equal to the gold that was picked up for gold=healing.
Emerald (green) gem in helm to increase gold find (flawless royal emerald +41% GF).
Leoric's Helm: Increase the effect of any gem socketed into this item by 75–100% (maxed at 100% in cube)
Max out GF in Paragon Points (utility).
Also... getting insane amounts of gold can mean getting a decent experience boost with..
Custerian Wristguards bracers: Picking up gold grants experience.
These are the main items you should know about, but there are lots of other legendary items that drop or can be crafted to increase gold find and/or increase pickup radius (e.g. you can craft Corruption shoulders to increase your pickup radius even if you can't work an Avarice ring into your build). Search for more discussions and youtube videos if you need more help. Lots of info out there..
As a side note, for the Avarice conquest: green gem in helm, rank 50 boon of hoarder, GF maxed in paragon points, T8-10ish, Ruins of Corvus Act 5.

Yeah I didn't want to recommend bounties because they would naturally run them in a party, which would set them up for failure as other party members run around like jolly green giants one-shotting all the pet gobs. Lol.
I went with my not-so-secret pennant agenda instead.

The wings are only obtained through the rainbow gob portals (whimsydale). Watching the cosmetics farming community throughout the season I think it is safe to say the princess doesn't spawn anywhere else.
The portrait frame drops from Sir William in whimsyshire (staff of herding portal).
Good hunting.

Gloves of worship picture is missing (you can add it to a build but the pic is missing).

Go with a Samsung SSD. The expensive models are incredible but an EVO 250GB will also make you a happy camper. 500GB is a solid recommendation if you can swing it.
Don't be surprised if you find yourself looking into CPU cooling systems in the near future.
Edit: I see you already have an SSD. Good luck with your build.

Thanks.

Delsere's Magnum Opus wizard set is also gone.

Unhallowed Essence (demon hunter) set seems to be gone completely. Can't add it back into my builds.
Messaged you about it but just to post about it in here..
Thanks

The mysterious chest with the falcon wings can spawn anywhere in Garden of Hope tier 1 (I'm not sure if it can spawn on any other tier but def spawns on tier 1).
It's RNG but it took me about 20 runs through GOH1 to get it.
