posted a message on Get rid of auto-scroll
When you click on a thread from the front page or "view new content", the site auto-scrolls to the bottom of the page. Now, this would be fine if it would be instant but it happens after like 2-3 seconds so it gets sort of frustrating =[

New article over at Giantbomb from a guy who played the game several hours. He's got some interesting things to say and there are a few new screenshots as well. Check it out.

Damn.. I just figured your avatar is that parasite that eats the fish's tongue and then sits there to replace it..

    Anyway, Skyrim will be massive.

What if it was like on the Battle.net page, each side by side with class tags under them in a table. You could place it under the main title in the Wiki.

Or, you could have it like it is in the Wiki now on the side but stack them vertically, for example:

    Chainmail

    Barbarian
    *image*
    WD
    *image*
    Wiz
    *image*
    DH
    *image*
    Monk
    *image*

    Statistics
    etc

posted a message on No Mod Support for Diablo 3
I'm not going to get into an argument here, just gonna throw in my 0,02$.

Modding can be a great thing being limited only by the users creativity and dedication, just take a look at Half-Life. There are countless great mods there and even one Half-Life mod became one of the biggest games in PC history (Counter-Strike). Even with a simple map creator, Wc3 has spawned another game, Dota, which is also one of the most played PC games which has also led to Dota clones that is starting to become it's own genre. Hell, you could even argue that the skill-rune system in D3 was inspired by the Dota item "Aghanims Scepter".

I can only imagine what the Diablo 3 community could do with a simple map creator like the one in Wc3.

However, I do see how mod support could make Diablo 3 more vulnerable to hacks, dupes and what not.. Not to mention the implications that the RMAH puts on the whole issue.

posted a message on Anyone else think that the WD skills aren't as 'epic' as the others?
I have to admit that the WD is probably the only class that I don't feel any desire to try =P

DH: Strategising with traps, Vault, even bombs that have physics to them.
Wiz: Although it iiiiisss basically just an aoe slow/freeze, the time bubble looks and feels pretty damn cool and will allow for some pretty sweet game-play and tactics.
    Monk: Combos? Hell yeah.
Barb: The Fury resource system really intrigues me, being more powerful the more you attack.. Also, the skills that draw enemies closer to you for further massacre sounds like a lot of fun.
    WD: ??

    Maybe I'm just missing something..

If you think that's bad, you should see the test they have for the applicants to the medical/doctors school here... I think it's about 30% biology and 70% random shit that you would find in Trivia Pursuit.. And it's a 3 day test (3x4 hours i think).

posted a message on With the delay: should we expect an even more refined game? How much is too much iteration?
    Quote from Makesh

Please remember that they aren't just dealing with the fans. They have to maintain a good image and reputation to the press, shareholders and whatnot. Not to mention the competitors (meaning other gaming companies). They aren't just making a new sequel to an old game, they are making a game that will set new standards in the gaming industry, especially the ARPG genre.

I understand that. Still, just imagine a gaming company being totally honest to their fanbase.
Even though they didn't make the most awesome games, you'd respect them and because of that enjoy their games slightly more. Blizzard could still be honest to the fans and at the same time please the shareholders etc. At the moment I can't help despising Blizzard for their attitude towards the fanbase. They should treat us with atleast some respect and honesty, we're not retarded.

I don't know man. Maybe they make the mistake to assume that their fans have something better to do with their days than sit at home being pissed at a game company :P

Of course I'm disappointed about the delay, would've been nice if they had the game ready for 2011 rather than 2012. Still, I understand them and their effort for high quality, so that's good. What bother me is that except for the announcements/confirmation of D3 not coming out 2011, Blizzard are being so cryptic and asshole-ish. They're not the fucking president of the world, why being so fucking cryptic and asshole-diplomatic? Would it actually hurt them to be honest about for example the status of the beta? If they went out and told us that x amount of betas have gone out because they're not very comfortable with the current ability of the servers, or that they rather wait with sending out a decent amount of invites before they patch the beta or whatever, I would have WAY more respect for them.

As it stands now, I just despise Blizzard as a company because they're behaving like retards, but the fact still remains that they make awesome games so I'll continue being a fan. Just wish they'd be honest or give a straight answer for once. Jeez..

The delay is fine by me though. If there is work that has to be done on the game, then there is work that has to be done on the game.. Simple as that.

What I think he means is that they will try to implement many of the ideas for Affixes they have before launch, but there will still be a lot of Affixes that they have planned but will code after launch to use the time for coding other more important things.

I am interested to see how the skill rehaul will play out. I also didn't know about Scroll of Reforge before but I think it will be a great addition.

I do think, however, that you should know the rune color before you place it into a skill, but still be attuned to the skill when you place it. And when you place it it should get the item Affix + Prefix so you will still always be on the hunt for a better rune.
