IN light of beta patch 8, there was some major changes.. monk got a new ability and wizard signature skills cost no arcane power at early levels.

THere hasn't been a recent playthrough with all these changes they make in awhile, Can anyone make a new one utilizing the monks new ability and showcasing how the wizard plays with no arcane power cost on signature skills?

    P.S. Anyone know any streams?

posted a message on zombie dogs - shared health?
There is a videos of someone testing witch doctor pets, it was put in a thread somewhere around here(dont remember if it was this forum or diablo3.com),but anyways, it's shared health, but they only die 1 at a time.(They were testing dps/hp/armor with and without gear against king leoric), when the bar got to about 1/3rd, 1 died, but another didn't die.. I still don't know if it's because they have their own HP and they made 1 bar to simplify it or if 1 dies every 3rd of the hp bar gone period.

    Splinters
Shoot 3 darts at once that deal 59% weapon damage as Poison each.
Is this in a cone or do the darts fly one after another? If the former, cool! There’s some AoE utility added to Poison Dart’s runestone selection. If the latter, meh. The overall damage would calculate to a near instant 180%, though what if the final dart misses because the monster moves or is stepped in front of by another enemy? Then your damage drops by a third on your kill target.

You're missing the point of this skill, first of all, it does fire 3 in a row(there's a vid of it on youtube somewhere from blizzcon) and its extremely fast, so the chance of someone walking in front of them are pretty slim.. but the reason why this skill is important, is because it does instant up front-damage.. but the fact it's poison damage lets it benefit from your poison passive abilities, while if you still like having a Dot with poison, keep it unruned.

posted a message on How to make an Effective Wizard Build.
I made this before reading this thread, what do you think?

Signature spell for arcane power return(even runed it and got the passive to return more power x2)

Ray of frost as my main DPS for smaller mobs and it slows to keep them back.

Meteor for high bust damage against elites/bosses, I have the passive that allows my sig spells to make my meteors do 50% more damage too

Then frostnova/teleport to keep the large mobs away from me.

Last but not least, energy armor for 20% more defense and runed for 120% more resistances to survive inferno if I do get hit.

Yeah, I have read that post before. I just didn't realize that he was talking about a pool and different amounts of fury costs. All I took from that was that the balls were gone, which we did know because they switched it to the rings. He didn't say they got rid of the ring. The ring would build to a cap as well. He also didn't mention anything particular about skills not cost 1,2, or 3 thirds of fury, just that they had different costs. I guess I'm only the only one who didn't jump to this conclusion. Either way, it's nice to see they wen back o the original globe. I hope all of the characters, despite how they work, will keep this look.

With the monk's resource, I wonder what skills will need spirit. It sounds like most of his combo skills have no resource requirement. That you can keep spamming them at no cost. I wonder how exactly that works. Exploding palm is a combo move and appears to be pretty strong. Can he keep using this skill at no costs?

We now have two classes that build up their energy and two that diminish theirs. I wonder what the fifth class will be. I would like a balance system where halt of your skills drain while the other half builds.

I probably went to that conclusion because I have no idea what the ring part is and the way he explains it is pretty much exactly how warrior rage works. :P Don't forget they got rid of the fury balls in the first place because they didn't like the feel of skills costing 33% 66% or all of it, it seems too slow to use skills.(In an interview) So they got rid of abilities like that.

As far as the combo moves go, I'm thinking they meant like the first 2 chains of combos and the third(exploding palm etc) will be considered finishers that use spirit along with standalone abilities, but that's just my guess.. Otherwise what would be the point of all the other moves if you can spam OP combos. lol

I don't know, but if we wanted a good guess on what the last class will be using, looking at hunter focus or pally holy power in the cata beta currently could be a few hints. :P (Though focus is pretty much a slightly tweaked rogue energy system)

I only skimmed over your post, but the fury change was already known for a long time now. It currently works EXACTLY like the WoW warrior rage, except that hitting monsters with abilities return rage and not just consumes it as well. So yes, each move will cost set rage and you will have a total max amount(most likely 100 like WoW)

Where was I when this was said? I never read anything about the barb just having a pool now with spells costing different amounts of fury. They said that the ball system was gone but that was like a year ago. Then they went to the ring system. I never heard anything about them getting rid of that. Where is this information? I need to read it.

In a few of bashiok's posts you can put together what it means.

This is a good one, of course he won't say "like WoW" because he probably figured that would cause alot of uproar, but you know what he's refering to.

That's as close as you can get to describing warrior rage without actually saying it's warrior rage.

You guys have to realize that it's very hard to come up with something new for something so simple. It's be like "oh yeah? you should create a weapon that isn't a mace, pole-arm, scythe, sword, axe, dagger, poleaxe, bow..etc" I hope you get what I mean. Another example to this would the classes. Like, you can only have about 8 distinct classes, but they're gonna be almost the same as other classes, but that wouldn't count as ripping them off or anything. If they were ripping off WoW in a major way, they'd do it in the gameplay, and that (thankfully) isn't the case.
You're just assuming things, me and the other guy never implied that it was bad at all, they are good systems that are proven to work. If anything, I'm glad they are taking them, because it saves time in developing D3.

The interesting fact to note about this change is that segments of any sort are now removed. So the question on just how the Barbarian will use his fury is re-opened. Will it still take 1,2, or 3 parts of the globe like originally planned or will the fury now create a pool and certain skills will require individual amounts. For example, the Barbarian can have a total of 100 fury gained. Bash may cost 10 fury, stomp costs 15 fury, and Whirlwind 45 fury. This could drastically be different from the 1,2, or 3 amounts of your overall fury as originally stated.

I'm sure other people notice, but it looks like the wizards new resource system sounds alot like the rogue's energy from WoW.
